Well, if I described a band on the alternative / active board as "Rock" would that tell you anything? Not really, but it's still a description.
Either way, I need sleep, and this pointless argument is keeping me awake. I'll resume this conversation later.

"Rock" is a word with an actual meaning, it is a descriptive word, it tells you what kind of music it is. Granted, not very well, but it still does the job. "The" doesn't even have a meaning, because its only purpose is as a marker for nouns.

Articles are most definitely adjectives. But regardless, it's the name of the band. So the two points are not connected.
How about I just changed the title so we can actually talk about the future single and the band.
I agree Elephant was way overrated, despite having a nice single collection; and an incredible bit on The Simpsons. Icky Thump was hailed as the best one yet by many, and I never bought into that. It had some nice side A tracks for me.

I said they're technically not adjectives but merely function as them. Plus I provided an actual article to support me (i.e. NOT Wikipedia). It's largely irrelevant anyway.

Wikipedia took all their information from Cambridge which is why I mentioned Cambridge. Wikipedia articles typically are supposed to have sources, y'know? I can live with function I guess, but it still really doesn't make any kind of logical sense to me. Or to the English, apparently.

Now I've never visited Wikipedia.com, mainly based on its poor reputation. But it sure seems in America anyway that that site has become the lazy-man's refuge. A shortcut for thinking, remembering, or even grabbing a reference book that's proven. But again, I may be speaking out of turn.

A shortcut for thinking, remembering, or even grabbing a reference book that's proven. But again, I may be speaking out of turn. I think there's a real misconception about Wikipedia. Not that there aren't some inaccuracies here and there, because of the fact that Wikipedia is user-created, but the fact is that Wikipedia requires you to have a source for all of the content you provide, and there are people who scour those articles for any sign of not following their rules. It really is as accurate as it can possibly be. And really, you're right that people use it a lot more than other references, but that's because those references are usually collected in Wikipedia. If you had to decide between filtering through a dozen books for information or grabbing it all from one place, which is faster and easier? I'm not saying that additional research isn't really necessary, because Wikipedia does make mistakes and there are other points of view that don't make it to Wikipedia, but really if you need an answer in a hurry, you couldn't do worse and you're pretty likely to get the right answer.

I'm not really sure what this is in reference toward. If you're saying that smart people don't use Wikipedia, that's a really silly thing to say. Have you read through any articles on it other than music related ones? Furthermore, do you have any evidence to back up your opinion?

No proof obviously. But I don't know of any well educated individuals who would use that site in any reference. Maybe to find a reference?

I call into question the number of well-educated individuals you know.
