Usually I hate the idea of starting threads before the 100 page limit, but Amy Pt. 2 was a great thread, IMO. I didn't want to risk losing it. Sure it wasn't just cause you wanted to start it? Well if this is peaking this thread shouldn't be too long. Exactly

Hot 100 digital songs: 23 29 SPEARS*BRITNEY IF U SEEK AMY 41751 -10 46625 752329 By the end of this summer this will hit 1 million. At least it will be another platinum (barely) platinum but platinum single. Albums: 63 SPEARS*BRITNEY CIRCUS 8,994 -2 9,223 1,533,866 can this please cross the 2 million mark? At this rate it is looking at 1.8 million by year's end. With an increase it could just cross the 2million mark before 12/2. Hope that Radar has more of an impact on albums sales.

I think a TV performance would do it. Sad, because even if they had just sent a tour recording of AMY to Leno or Letterman we would have had 2,000,000 in sales. They could possibly do the MTV Movie Awards - Radar

At least this song will leave a legacy. Songs that look like digital smashes yet perform below expectations will now suffer from the music disease called "IFUSEEKAMY" syndrome. I DO NOT HOOK UP is showing some symptoms of this. IDNHU is only #15 on CHR while Amy is #9. 10 million audience difference yet IDNHU is higher. Oh yeah its going horrible HOOK UP is the second single. AMY is the third. AMY already reached #13 on I-tunes while it was just #18 on CHR. HOOK UP is at #21 on I-tunes while it is already #15 on CHR.

OK, I admit it. AMY has peaked. Beyonce HA-SLOW is about to pass it tomorrow.
I pray RADAR will do better in airplay. Here's to better days for the 4th and 5th singles.

I knew this wouldn't smash. I partly blame the video. It was SOOO underwhelming and uneventful. She better BRING IT with "Radar".

I knew this wouldn't smash. I partly blame the video. It was SOOO underwhelming and uneventful. She better BRING IT with "Radar". I genuinely think it was the weird world play - half because of the censorship issue, half because the lyrics just don't make sense both ways. I think people were expecting the catchphrase to become a phenomenon, but most people I knew we're like - huh?. Like most people here said, random members of the public probably would miss the hidden cuss and THAT's the problem. Because if people miss the F-U-C-K M-E part, all that's left is some weird non-sensical line about someone called Amy. In that context it's as stupid as saying "All of the boys and all of the girls are being to if you seek a pocket watch". These factors have always been, and were always going to be an issue though. For those reasons, it never should have been released. Which is a shame, because the melody and the structure of the song is pretty tight.

I knew this wouldn't smash. Top ten airplay for a third single is smashin' it. I don't understand some of you. As a fourth single, I don't think Radar will do as well as IUSA. It's a great song, but this ERA is moving on and kinda old now and I think that's how radio will view it too. One thing, though....IUSA performed much better than the majority of Brits past singles. Those who don't see Amy as a smash, need to change their standards. She did well guys!

Although this could do better, it still managed to go top 10 on pop radio and top 20 on the Hot 100 something that even Slave 4 U or Me Against The Music did not accomplish. It's not a smash hit, but still a hit nevertheless. It's a goddamn top 10 song!

This hasn't flopped, and I don't even think it's under performed. People just fail to put it in the context. For a 3rd single from a Britney Album, Top 20 is a SMASH! Wasn't this always going to struggle on airplay anyway, I thought loads of stations were refusing to play it?

Britney's fans were praying to have top 10 on pop radios a year ago. Now, when a single of Circus doesn't go top 5, some people call it a flop or underperformed. A top 10 is good for any artist.

MANY singles don't live up to their expectations.
SLAVE 4 U, AMY and GIMME MORE should have peaked in the Top 5 of Pop. AMY is still one of her biggest hits and will be included on her future HITS CD.
LOL @ this era becoming stale. The CD has barely been out for 5 months.

LOL @ this era becoming stale. The CD has barely been out for 5 months. It is tho..it's something that's hard to explain, but I don't think there's any buzz about it anymore. Whereas someone like Bee has kept the buzz and hype rolling so it all still seems fresh.

According to Yahoo BuzzMeter, Britney is only 1 position behind Queen Bee, so your argument doesn't make sense. They are both getting lots of positive buzz about their tour and both have a Top 10 song on Pop radio...what else do you want?!?
Rank Prev. Subject (Days on Chart) Move Score Rank Subject 1-Day Move 1 1 Rihanna (545) -93 228 1 Lorrie Morgan 758% 2 4 Beyonce Knowles (807) +5 78 2 Yusuf Islam 370% 3 3 Britney Spears (807) -21 68 3
