IMO they need to push up the adds date for this or Halo's gonna start to tank...

I was all over this when I got the CD in Nov. but now I am unimpressed with it, it's a nice little song but it's not epic by any means. It's in the average range. It's not as assertive (nor as offensive) as "Diva", not as meaningful or filling as "Halo" and not as catchy nor as interesting as "Single Ladies" but it does grab one more then "If I Were I Boy".

I looooooovvvvvvvveeeeeeee this song! But her way of singing kinda puts me off. The overexaggerated pronounciation is kinda annoying. But overall a very good pop song. Hope it does well!!

^But she doesn't do that over-singing thing she does in SL, Radio, and Hello.

Probably my favorite single from this era after "Halo".

They should really push this back a few weeks so it doesn't kill Halo's chances at reaching the top spot.

I believe Video Phone and Broken Hearted Girl will follow Ego and Sweet Dreams.

Video Phone would be a horrible choice over Radio. I think if they do another set it will be BHG/Radio, though I wish they would just do Radio by itself.

I love how this song is so different than most of the other stuff she's ever done. I love the dark electro vibe mix with urban and pop. It works really well for her.
I am so anxiously awaiting this video.

This song is amazing! I can't wait for it to smash right up the charts. It's my favorite song from her since 'Irreplaceable.'

Listened to this again today and I had an epiphany - this is going to be the first flop in America from the album. Top 20ish on Pop. Ego is going to take the lime light. This will be a big smash in Europe though.

Ego will underperform like Diva did. This will be a smash everywhere including the US.

How much better could it have done? Ego will Smash in the US on more than one format. It's far cooler and fresher than this Euro-nonsense. Sweet Dreams just isn't a smash single.

^LOL. ego is absolutely terrible. SD FTW. It just isn't. Sweet Dreams is a "OMG smash" song on internet message boards. But college kids aren't going to be listening to it, it's too dull and hookless for pop radio, it's not going to be played in clubs. Ego, as terrible as you think it is, is at least distinctive and different for radio, backed up with what will be huge urban support combined with the fact it's just a cooler, tighter record with good pop culture strains "I walk like this cause I can back it up". Neither of us (or none of you) will be proved wrong until these records are done, but I know where my money is.

Dull standard pop songs smashing up the charts is in at the moment!

Although I do agree with some of your points, I don't think this is at all dull or hookless for pop radio. Look at Baby Boy for example, that song has nowhere near a strong or indentifiable hook yet it still became a huge smash on all formats. I think the hook in Sweet Dreams will be catchy enough to catch on with listeners and hopefully shoot up the charts. I still maintain that this will go top 5 on CHR and if its lucky #1.

But I see what you're saying, you could also argue that singles are just promo to sell the album and it did well with the audience it was targeted towards.

Video Phone would be a horrible choice over Radio. I think if they do another set it will be BHG/Radio, though I wish they would just do Radio by itself. But BHG and Radio both cater to the same formats which would be a bad idea. The label has been preety smart with that so far, and I think if they release Video Phone next at Urban, it could become a big hit. It's probably the only other "Urban" song on the album that I believe has potential to successfully crossover to the Pop format.

They need to do Video Phone/Radio. Video Phone to Urban & Radio to Pop. They don't have to release one from Beyonce and one from Sasha. They released 2 from Sasha this time.
