I'm not worried about "Halo" dying, that song needs to go. The album is falling and the single isn't selling well anymore. Pop radio is the only place that song is doing anything, lol.
My only concern is that it will hurt "Sweet Dreams" take-off, similar to what "SL" did to "Halo."

Sweet Dreams is gonna be a slow riser, just like Halo. I think it's inevitable because it has taken so long for her singles to die down. I'm even gonna go ahead and say this might have to be sent for adds a second time before it's all over with.

I don't think the June 2 adds date is going to hurt Halo anymore. I think Halo has all the momentum it needs now to get to the top, without this interfering. I do however think the June 2 adds date will hurt this song.In fact I won't be surprised if it's August before this really gets off the ground.

It's not going to hurt Halo. Sweet Dreams will have small increases until Halo peaks.

It may not hurt Halo, but it'll hurt this. Releasing Halo while Single Ladies was almost in the same position as Halo is now (it was about to or had just gone #1 when they sent Halo for adds I believe) is part of why it took like 2 months for Halo to gain any sort of legs. The same thing could happen to Sweet Dreams.

I think its alot better than releasing a new single every 2 months.

When will they shoot the video for this song? It's already been shot. Directed by the same woman who was behind the lens for Duffy's "Mercy"

Sweet Dreams will not harm Halo AT ALL!! One recent example is Circus ''affecting'' Womanizer. Circus was already top 20 weeks before Womanizer reached its peak, which was #1.

And then I could use a counterexample of Sugar and Right Round. One example does not mean anything for a different song and different artist. Circus hurt Womanizer and If U Seek Amy hurt Circus - in that, both songs, especially Womanizer, could have had longer stays at top and more weeks in the top 40 without having to compete with herself. There is no doubt that SL hurt Halo in terms of its climbing power. Beyonce was lucky that pop radio didn't give up on the single, that's all.

Lmao at Beyonce is lucky radio didn't give up on Halo. It's not like Halo struggled. It was a slow climb but it's not like she was out pimping it and it just wouldn't stick. She has a lot of songs on the radio and SL was in heavy rotation so the slow climb makes sense. It's not like radio is against a slow climb (think Paper Planes or Im Yours). Radio couldn't care less how old a song is if it's popular with listeners and consumers.
It's also ridiculous to complain about songs ruining one anothers chart run. The label isn't generally concerned with chart runs. They are concerned about sales. A single is serviced in order to promote an album. If the single isn't pushing the album, it's time to move on. Multiple appealing singles entice consumers to take the plunge. So while her peaks could have been higher, it's the bigger picture effect that pays the bills. Nobody sends a check for chart peaks.

I think this song will be another top five hit for her but it won't be till AFTER "Halo" is done SMASHING, which at the rate it's going, won't be for a while.
