I actually hope this makes it... most deserving #1 in quite some time. I wish more songs like this could make it to the top (i.e. focus on lyrics and song structure, not cheap gimmicks and recycled dance beats) Yeah, the fact that Boom Boom Pow blocked this from #1 sort of sums up today's music scene all on it's own.

Even if it doesnt go to #1, it was only halted by the biggest hit on the Hot 100 in YEARS...one of the biggest runs at #1 ever...so Im not losing any sleep over it! Right, but your argument makes absolutely no sense. It was halted by "Boom Boom Pow"...on the CHR/POP chart, where it wasn't "The biggeest run at #1 ever". On the Hot 100, "Halo" only peaked at #5...so it was blocked by four other songs, including "Poker Face" which peaked over 2 months ago yet still couldn't fall below "Halo".

It's sad that this and many other songs are blocked from #1 by that Boom Boom Pow (which I don't even like.) Don't we need a new #1 now??

This is going to be an interesting battle for #1. I believe it'll end up with DTM at #1, Halo #2 and BBP #3.

Ill try to dumb it down for you...it was blocked from #1 at pop by a song that happens to have the longest run at #1 on the Hot 100, a far more significant chart than the pop chart alone. Get it yet? I didnt say BBP had the longest run at pop...I was merely stating that its not in bad company considering the song that ultimately blocked it at pop was a lead single that happened to also top the Airplay and Hot 100 chart, as well as selling more than 200k every week since its realase like 3 months ago...get it yet?

Oh hush. Halo is still a smash. It's just a #2 smash not a #1 smash. Halo should be grateful considering its struggle in positions 10-13. It looked as though it was going to take forever to get past those positions. And even with the clear channel radio station issues Halo was somehow able to dodge all of that and boost into the top 10. Now it's time for Sweet dreams to hit top 10.

Oh snap. Somebody's mad that precious Beyonce didn't hit #1. Can't wait for Sweet Dreams to hit top 10. I wonder what will be her last (7th/8th single) in the fall.

Oh snap. Somebody's mad that precious Beyonce didn't hit #1. What could any Beyonce fan possibly have to be 'mad' at right now? That Boom Boom Pow is blocking it from #1 on pop and people wanted it to hit #1-oh and the sarcasm of me saying mad as a slight exaggeration . I guess you didn't read the prior posts. It has been a concern for a couple of weeks but it seems like a #2 hit for a ballad during the summer time should be recognized instead of how it didn't hit #1 on pop Simply put, be grateful that it has hit #2 so far because it struggled for a few weeks to even break the top 10

It's not that big of a deal this missed #1 really since if it hit #1 it would be with a really small spin count anyway. However...it did deserve at least a week at #1 and especially over Boom Boom Pow.

However...it did deserve at least a week at #1 and especially over Boom Boom Pow. It is June (summer time) and it is the #2 song on pop. That is an accomplishment considering it is not an uptempo. It far exceeded my top 10 peak that I originally had for it.

This has had a truly fantastic run considering it was released practically half a year ago. A top 5 platinum-seller that was the fourth peaking single from IASF. Can't ask for more than that.

It would be something if this snuck in a week at #1 with a super low spin count and no bullet lol.

Well, my God, look how long radio has been playing it! It's not surprising they're dropping it hard at this point. It's not like it had a normal chart run.

True. It'll just be weird seeing a -1600 "bullet" for this after so long, if it gets that.
So her peaks on pop are...
Single Ladies#1 Irreplaceable #1 Check On It #1 Baby Boy#1 Crazy in Love #1 Halo #2 Naughty Girl #2 03' Bonnie n' Cylde #6 If I Were a Boy #9 Deja Vu #14 Beautiful Liar 17 Me, Myself, and I #18 Until the End of Time #26 Diva #45 Ring the Alarm #45 *Sweet Dreams #47
*Current single

This logs it's 28th week on CHR today. It's her longest running song on the chart, Irreplaceable was her longest running song before, with 26 weeks. Looks like this might hold on for a 29th week as well.
