This is his best single so far(from relapse)and my favorite song off the album. I think if We made you didn't flop on radio this would have an easier/better chance at smashing! WMY flopped LOL. umm ya I know, that's why I said I think if it didn't flop this would smash...

I guess its too depressing. Even though many people can relate to what he's talking about, nobody really wants to hear overly pessimistic songs right now unless its love or something. All these types of songs are struggling. The economy sucks, celebrities are dying, nobody wants to hear the truth. Its summer people just wanna celebrate. Plus he's done this countless times before. It may have been more suitable for the Fall. The era is probably over.

But in times of uncertainty why would we want to embrace music that only keeps reminding us of such crazy times? Music, movies, people are looking for an outlet. A way to escape. I'd much rather it be through that than people turning to drugs (which I am sure there are others doing that as well.)
People always talk about how much of a bad state this world is in. Honestly, there will always bee good and bad times. Even in the best of times.

Meh. He's releasing Relapse 2 by the end of the year anyways. Maybe there's some hit singles on that, but I doubt it.

This is tooo much boring. HIs old time songs were good..but now he always sings same style. I used to love eminem...he was cool guy who I would play at every party with rap music. But I have liked nothing since 'sing for the moment'...

I respect that. But then the lyrics here is great and the beat's not that bad either.

I'm not sure what's wrong this time around. I think the material is still solid (better than the new stuff from the greatest hits and Encore), but it's not doing that well at pop. At least album sales tell a different story. I think "Beautiful" would be a top 15 at least.
I think that something uptempo but not novelty is his best bet. Something like "Old Time's Sake", "Must Be The Ganja" or "Same Song & Dance" would probably be his best bet at pop. I would say "3 am" because I think it's probably the best song on the album, but it's too dark for pop radio.

I can't believe this is already falling. Barely made top 40. Not one radio hit out of this CD on pop. I guess he is lucky to have sold so many albums.

He sells so many because he's got a diehard fanbase. He's one of the few that don't have to rely on much radio play. I mean he has five top 35 hits on Relapse.
2009 "Crack a Bottle" #1 2009 "We Made You" #9 2009 "3 a.m." #32 2009 "Old Time's Sake" #25 2009 "Beautiful" #17
Sure the radio play hasnt been great but at the end of the day top 35 is top 35. lol. I would agree he needs more radio play out of singles for Relapse 2 but hey Eminem really does not care about sales and radio play that much anymore. He care's about being respected by his peers. He is the best selling rapper of all time.

F radio play when you sell as much as Eminem. Only Bush-league artists need to rely on radio play to sell albums and even with massive radio hits, they still can't, LOL. Em is one of the few artists today that can have an album of radio flops and still go multi plat!

This song's performance confirms it, Eminem is officially over on radio.

Most rappers that are vying for pop hits are not the respected rap artists. Those are the artists you dont hear about all the time. Those are the artists who rap about real issues, and dont revert to crass, uninspiring material about society. His sales are strong because of the same dedicated fanbase. He gets strong sales because of that but his radio play, or lack there of, is representative of his relevancy declining. Sales without radio play indicates that you are too good for radio and everyone knows it. (there are artists like this - they are usually talented vocalists whose albums are critically acclaimed and sell well and will always have a record deal) And then there are those who are not good enough for radio anymore because in reality it was their market all along and they lost that. He has a cult like following. Nothing more, nothing less. He just wont have the fans who enjoy listening to him on the radio or buying on iTunes. Those same fans are those who would not dare show up to one of his concerts.

Those same fans are those who would not dare show up to one of his concerts. I have to disagree ith the majority of this post. I have been to one of his concerts at comerica park in Detroit. If he tours here in michigan again I will be there. I don't care about his radio play really. I care about sales. I also don't know what you are talking about. Eminem has a lot of respect of everybody who is relevant in the rap game. Jay Z, Nas, Kanye West, Rakim, Andre 3000, Dr Dre, Jadakiss, Lil Wayne, T.I, 50 Cent, The Game, and etc. They all believe Eminem is relavant and at the top of the game. Look what Radio Play got Flo Rida in sales. lol. Eminem doesnt care about radio play or sales like most do. In a recent interiview he said "If somebody say's they don't care about sales they are full of ****. But what's more important to me not is the respect". More than people from his label respect Em. I just named a whole lot about and including some in his label. Jay Z is not on Em's label. Nas isnt on Em's label. Kanye West isnt on Em's label. T.I or Lil Wayne aint on Eminems label. Eminem is most critically acclaimed rapper ever, the best selling rapper ever, and etc. It's not Eminems fault 2 Pac or Biggie aint around to give Eminem his props like the other top dawgs in the game right now. Eminem raps about Real issues more than any artist in the game. Then again if we go by radio play i guess Lollipops are real issues and what eminem does isnt real issues. Radio play is not what determines who and what is relavant. Eminem won't do 1.7 Million in one week anymore and he wont have 2.5 Million Scanned by the 2nd week anymore but he still hit's it up. He did over 600,000 in his first week and went #1 for Relapse in '09. Relapse 2 will do over 600K first week and be #1 as well. That's quite relavant. Crack A Bottle was #1 on the Hot 100 for crying out loud. We Made You was #9. Eminem isnt done on the billboard hot 100. Eminem is still plenty good enough for radio. I don't really listen to radio. I bump my CD's and use my iPod.

I remember all the Eminem fans saying that CAB wasn't the first single or a proper single from Relapse. It's funny because now they're all like "omg but CAB went #1" but that's just because there's no way he's going to get another big single from this album. It's a shame this one isn't doing better, because it's the best song on the album But in a positive side, the album is doing great.

It's funny because now they're all like "omg but CAB went #1" but that's just because there's no way he's going to get another big single from this album. It's a shame this one isn't doing better, because it's the best song on the album But in a positive side, the album is doing great. When CAB first debuet on 95.5 in detroit I was on my way home and at the time i did not view it as the first single from Relapse because it wasnt confirmed to be on the album at that time. Once the tracklist was confirmed i have always believed it was the first single. The first single that really introduced the album to the masses was "We Made You". That was like his "My Name Is", "The Real Slim Shady", and or "Without Me". I do believe Eminem needs to go back to the thought process when he wrote "The Way I Am" when he raps. "I'm not going to be able to top a my name is" because the record label was begging em for a first single. Eminem wanted the first single of the marshall mathers lp to be I'm Back but Interscope wanted something else that had not been recorded yet. Because while he was able to if not top match a "My Name Is" with "The Real Slim Shady" and "Without Me" the last two "Just Lose It" and "We Made You" were not the same calibar. So Eminem recorded many song's for the relapse album and in turn it turned into two albums worth of stuff. Hopefully when he recorded them he said "F*** the Radio" and maybe a great single will come out of it.
