I love it, that there are so many long time Kelly Clarkson fans, who are now loving Kris Allen, too.
I saw Kris in concert last night at the WXXL XL'ent Xmas show in Orlando. He is definitely doing pop/rock, not soft rock, and would be a perfect opener for Kelly's show, IMO.
I would do whatever necessary to get to that show, if it ever happens.
kcchica, you wouldn't believe how great he looked and sounded last night. He was wearing that gray henley shirt. 'Nuff said.

Hmm....hotness galore then. Does anyone else think he resembles a young Corey Haim, pre drugs/stroke? Kris just has that adorable little smile. Oh, audiogarden, don't know if you saw, but Kris did a radio interview recently and talked about Kelly, talked about how her AG performance was just amazing and how if he could do a duet with any Idol, it would be Kelly. :) Kris was my guy on Idol....just like David Cook was the year before. I think that them with Kelly just seem to give off the same vibe....talented, humble, really just wanting to make music for a living, and seeing it as a job, not a live style. At least that is what attracts me to those three. I could be WAY off base! And THANK YOU for that MP3...really cool rendition of that song.

Is there a week-by-week sales breakdown for the album?
I see LLWD peaking in the #11-#15 range on CHR and possibly top 5 on HAC.

Nice sales increase for this! Kris Allen, Kris Allen (31,000, +34 percent, 190,000 total) I'm so happy that Kris is doing well right now. It looks like the public is responding well to him, his single could sell over 100K next week with the Christmas effect. And this album could keep going and be Jive's first album to sell over 500K that was released this year if his second single doesn't flop. ![](http://yoursmiles.org/ssmile/fun/s0270.gif)

Would having Red Guitar become a single be asking too much?

"Red Guitar", I can already see them putting his wife in the video, since the song is actually about her and she is trying to be an actress. Jive can save money and time by skipping the casting process! The whole thing would be terribly precious.
On a couple different Idol sites, people are saying that that during one appearance (not sure which, sorry), Kris slipped and started to introduce "The Truth" as a single before correcting himself and calling it just a song. Maybe an honest mistake that means nothing, or maybe it was a hint. It might seem like an odd choice for single #2, but whenever I check the pop bars for his album (both versions) at iTunes, "The Truth" is the best seller after LLWD and "Heartless. It can't be that many copies since "No Boundaries" has the highest pop bars of the deluxe version. But maybe Jive sees potential.
"Let It Rain" would make a good exit song for Season 9 of Idol. It's probably out of the running because it doesn't have "home" in the title (even though "Bad Day" didn't and was the biggest hit of any of those songs).

Red Guitar sounds 'country' to me. I would love for the label to give it a try at country radio. I can't really see that one going to Top 40 radio.
I think the best choices for a second single would be Before We Come Undone, Can't Stay Away, Alright With Me, or The Truth.
I wish the Daughtry co-write, Send Me All Your Angels, had made the main CD, and not just a bonus track. I think that one has potential at radio, but bonus tracks never get the chance.

Ditto another fav of mine is I need to know but you know that aint going anywhere near radio lol. I could see RG possibly doing well on HAC(like maj of his songs) but it wouldnt do squat on Top 40 for sure. ITA with others, sounds countryish as well and who knows could do very well on country radio. I dont know if Jive would ever try that though. Another one Im iffy on is Alright with Me, its catchy but I also think at certain times it sounds countryish as well. It just sounds too folksy, twangy lol I will be open to a slight remix version for radio if this ever becomes a single. This is the one that seems risky to me.

Hopefully you'll like it more after more listens :)

^ Yeah pls do, I loved it instantly and thought it was a pretty solid album for an artist coming fresh off idol and basically doing a rush job. However upon more listens, I found myself loving it that much more and liking songs I was iffy on.

I definitely didn't enjoy/appreciate it at first so I understand where you are coming from, r.enato. I thought it was too vanilla for me but the more I listened, the more I enjoy it and it has earned a spot on my top 50 CDs of 2009 after much debate. I love songs I never paid attention to (Red Guitar, Alright With Me) or even disliked (BWCU). Kris did a really good job and stayed true to who he was on the show so I am happy with the CD.

"Before We Come Undone" or "Can't Stay Away" should be the next single.
"Can't Stay Away" is the catchiest song on the album.

Jive must be really pleased with him. This has outsold any of their release this year (LOL). The album debuted exactly like Jordins and now his single is doing the same thing! Its like history is repearting itself!
