Britney to be the most talked about and anticipated performance of the year, as usual. And she'll disappoint. As usual.

There was all kinds of hype surrounding here appearance and all there was was a lame opening skip and her doing introduction.

I can"t stand Beyonce but have to admit, she's a good singer/dancer and really good live perfomer. Some people can't see beyond their hate.

Britney used to be a good performer. Now she sucks :) Her 'dance moves' nowadays (if that's what you want to call them) are half-assed and does that girl EVER sing live? She "sang" Everytime live on the Onyx Hotel Tour. Since then, no.

I don't think anyone should have been dissapointed last year by Britney. It was confirmed that she wasn't performing. She still did an amazing job when she received those awards.
I don't think she's going to perform this year.

As far as big performances go, Madonna and Mariah are both launching albums around September, Madonna a GH with new material and at least one single and Mariah her new studio album.
The show would be a great venue for either or both of them to promote their new tracks and records.
Although in Madonna's case I'm not sure she even knows MTV still does the VMAs, lmao.

It was CONFIRMED that she would NOT perform so whoever thought that it'd be a surprise performance was setting up himself for disappointment. It's none of B's fault.

I don't think she's going to perform this year. How does someone do "an amazing job" receiving an award? She looked healthy and happy after a whole year of crazyness. That is an amazing job in my opinion. I think Katy Perry should be performing, and she should probably have some nominations this year for Hot N Cold and maybe Waking Up In Vegas. Also Flo Rida, as much as I hate him, I think he should perform too.

^Probably Jump. It's a summer hit in the waiting. It would be great if Nelly Furtado perfomed with him. Also i'm thinking that if Transformer does become the movie of the summer, i see Linkin Park performing New Divide in the VMAs. Kelly Clarkson would be a great choice if her next single is "Don't Let Me Stop You". I don't see her performing something like "Already Gone" in the VMAs. I would hate Miley Cyrus/Jonas Brothers again. We already had them on the Grammys.

Britney is the only reason the MTV Music Awards still exist. If it wasn't for her, they would have been axed two years ago.

I do however think Womanizer deserves a nod for VOTY but Single Ladies should win...its video was more impactful than any video in recent years. I think it'd be halarious to see "Jizz in my Pants" get nominated. VOTY: Single Ladies, Womanizer, J*** in my Pants, Heartless, 21 Guns (if eligible) or We Made You

No, GaGa deserves the male video of the year since ''her'' genitals haven't been removed yet.
