It's so sad that all of the industry love Brandy gets doesn't translate into record sales. She is clearly an industry favorite, vocally.

Well let's be honest...R&B is a format that is beyond struggling. Her platinum days are over, but she has a brand outside of her music and is an industry veteran at this point. Her name and face will always be out there.

It's clear that Brandy is sort of an icon of her generation. Many songwriters, artist, and producers have mentioned her as an influence or inpsiration at one time or another. (Chris Brown, Rihanna, Ariana Grande, Ciara, Hit-Boy, James Fauntleroy)Even older artist like Maxwell, Erykah Badu, and Faith Evans.
Some critics pointed out how well Two Eleven fit into the "alt R&B" soundscape of 2012,specifically her atmospheric vocals, because of her influence on some of the artist who helped shaped the trend.
She could sell more records with better management and presentation. She has the acclaim and ability to create solid bodies of work.
Rant over.
Producer Dev Hynes tweeted interest in working with her recently.

I'm only here for Mike Will Made It! & Pharrell although I would entertain the idea of Rodney again since I enjoyed his tracks off Human.

Absolutely no Timbo... let Justin have him. No Darkchild either. Dev Hynes is a great option for her. I want her to work with NEW talent and go back to Candice Nelson & the girl from Full Moon whose name escape me. Let those 2 girls write her lyrics and then find producers to create a seamless vibe on the album. Brandy is a vocal talent and needs to be challenged constantly. 2/11 was a good yet safe retread from an artist who usually sets trends. f**k record sales, Brandy focus on your God given ability to SLAY & influence others. Her trifecta of perfection: Full Moon, Afrodisiac and Human proves the general public don't know s**t.
She also has got to find a look/image that works for her. There is something glaringly missing from her visual presentation that doesn't set her apart or shines a light on her. A creative director and stylist would serve her greatly.

I'm not here for Mike Will again. Brandy needs to find a great medium between urban AC and mainstream r&b like Tamar did. The audience that "put it down" was geared towards doesn't care about Brandy (no shade). She needs to work with writers and producers that will put together some great, honest, emotional songs. Two Eleven was a good album to me (as a fan) but it didn't have any GREAT records to make people want to buy.

Brandy admits disappointment with "Two Eleven" Nice to see her not dragging her commercial failures this time . It's a great album that deserved more.

Hopefully she can nab that Grammy nomination for it! I wonder if they submitted any individual songs for consideration, like "Without You" or "Wildest Dreams."

Dead @ " I don't know what note I'm going to hit, until I hit it". I was listening to Full Moon today. I miss her music.

Good. I hope someone takes her in who knows how to handle an R&B artist.
