Billboard just confirmed, "Radar" will be her 21st entry + they gave an update on her album sales in the U.S. Should Britney Spears' "Radar" debut on the Mainstream Top 40 radio airplay chart next week, which looks likely based on the format's building chart, Spears will take sole ownership of most entries on the tally this decade. She's currently tied with Nelly, each with 20 charted titles in that span. Here is a look at the hefty sales figures of Spears' charted albums on the Billboard 200, according to Nielsen SoundScan: 10,534,000, "...Baby One More Time," 1999 (No. 1, six weeks) 9,184,000, "Oops!...I Did It Again," 2000 (No. 1, one week) 4,336,000, "Britney," 2001 (No. 1, one week) 2,970,000, "In the Zone," 2003 (No. 1, one week) 1,575,000, "Circus," 2008 (No. 1, one week) 1,347,000, "Greatest Hits: My Prerogative," 2004 (No. 4) 967,000, "Blackout," 2007 (No. 2) 100,000, "B in the Mix: The Remixes," 2005 (No. 134) www.billboard.com/bbcom/ask_bb/index.jspSongs charted 1998-1999(last decade) : …Baby One More Time: 1Sometimes: 6 Songs charted 2000-2009(this decade) : (You Drive Me) Crazy: 4 From The Bottom Of My Broken Heart: 17 Oops! I Did It Again: 1Lucky: 9 Stronger: 17 I'm A Slave 4 U: 15 I'm Not A Girl, Not Yet A Woman: 21 Overprotected: 37 Boys: 38 Me Against The Music: 11 Toxic: 1Everytime: 4 Outrageous: 23 My Prerogative: 22 Gimme More: 17 Piece Of Me: 28 Break The Ice: 21 Womanizer: 1Circus: 1If U Seek Amy: 8 Love the username and sig! Awesome info, congrats Brit LEGEND....lol....sorry I had to! To those who don't migrate to the Circus album thread--- Britney is in the studio with Max Martin right now, recording new material. The writers behind "When Love Takes Over" have also been contracted for new material for Britney. I think a new album is in the works, probably for a fall 2010 release (just IMO).

I was thinking the new stuff she is working on could be for a Circus re-release as well.. She will be on tour for this album until the end of November
Question: Do rerelease sales count tword the original album release sales? For example, did the sales of "The Emancipation of Mimi: Ultra Platinum Edition" count tword the sales of the original release of "The Emancipation of Mimi"?

The re-releases counted for Rihanna, Mariah and Usher so they would count for Britney too if it were to take place, however I don't think they are re-releasing "Circus". I think they are preparing for another studio album for next year.

It's a re-release.
All she needs is 3-4 new tracks. A lot of the big mainstream artists are doing this nowadays. It was a very successful route for both Rihanna, Beyonce & Mariah Carey. I think it would be as well for Britney.

I just don't see Circus getting re-released, but we'll see. It would seem more productive to me, and apparently to Britney's team because this is what they have always done, to just record a new album. Britney can record an entire CD in a relatively small amount of time and she gets those big first week sales. I would be willing to bet money a new album will be released in the fall of 2010, Circus re-release or not.

I think it would be as well for Britney. Jive did a re-release for Justin and the wifebeater Chris Brown, so I'm sure they will do one for Britney as well. Let's see the single will probably come out around October after Radar has run its course. I wonder if we are ever going to get a ballad out of Britney this era. Hopefully, her a$$ will sit down and do some interviews and promote.

It is unbelievable to me that ITZ has not sold 3 mill yet. I feel they give the number 2.97 everytime a new report is made!

I think it has shipped over 3 mil, and I also think Britney has shipped over 5 mil, they are both under certified by the RIAA.

I am pretty sure OIDIA has shipped 11 million too. Jive needs to get on those RIAA certifications.

Top 300 smash! I honestly can't believe it's even selling that much. I will be totally shocked if this hits the top 40 on iTunes again (for the 180th time).

GimmeBritney.com can exclusively reveal that Britney is planning to release her second Greatest Hits album this year.
The album will feature tracks from Blackout and Circus, plus another 6 new tracks which Britney is said to be in the process of recording. We already know that she's currently in the studio with Max Martin - the guy behind Baby One More Time and If U Seek Amy.
The album is due for release in September to coincide with the 2nd North American leg of her current Circus tour.www.gimmebritney.com/2009/07/britneys-greatest-hits/Credit - GimmeBritney.com

what's so about it? Think of it as a Blackout/Circus Double Re-Release because it won't be all her songs, it's since the last GH.. so realy it's like a re-release

A second greatest hits compilation would be a bit premature.

A second greatest hits compilation would be a bit premature. It would be in line with her contract though. She signed a recording contract for three albums with Jive back in 2005 for $10 million USD dollars (Blackout, Circus and Greatest Hits would fulfill the contract) if it's true then that would mean that Jive would need to release a Greatest Hits to lay claim to the songs she released these past two era's.

Regardless of whether or not it fulfills her contract requirements a second greatest hits album would still be premature. One could argue she has only had five "hits" since the last was released. They should wait until after she releases two new studio albums (which, if everything went in her favor, would give her at least 10 hits which is a bit more reasonable). I would rather she record a completely new album at this point.
