I'm not in love with the song. The production is meh and so are the lyrics (especially the chorus).

The Script's version is definitely better, imo, and I don't even like their version either. My 2nd least favorite Idol winner debut single, after Just To Feel That Way, though it's just slightly better than that. I would so bet hard cold cash on this flopping hard. I don't think there's been more of a sure thing in the music world than this flopping in a long time. Why? Because you don't like it? I think this is cotemporary enough to hit the Top 40 at least.

This song is the definition of average. The chorus is nice, but the verses really suck.
I say this peaks in the 20s. It's nothing that makes you jump out of your seat but it should do alright for him. I see similar success to Light On, not a flop but not a big hit either.

No, because Top 40 has never ever played anything like this. This is "Geek in the Pink" Jason Mraz, not "I'm Yours" Jason Mraz, though Geek in the Pink is a far better song. The point being, a song like this isn't going to get played on pop or the ac formats. AAA is probably it's only shot at doing anything, and even that's doubtful.

I think this will do alright on HAC and AC. I don't see it being a big pop hit, but it could manage a top 25 peak or so there if the label pushes it.
Overall, I see an okay chart run for an okay song. Nothing substantial. I don't think this is enough to get people interested in him, though, so hopefully this is a "test the waters" type thing and they have the better song saved for the 2nd single. If not, he may be in trouble.

If this hits top 40 on pop, you'll be able to knock me over with a feather.

I do think it'll hit top 40, the Idol name alone should carry it there.

LMFAO. This not hitting the Top 40? That's exaggerating a bit, don't you think?
Anyway, I think this is a nice little song. It's catchy.

LMFAO. This not hitting the Top 40? That's exaggerating a bit, don't you think? This is no more pop friendly than Taylor or Blake's lead singles, and neither of theirs hit top 40.

The beginning is kind of boring. Chorus is really catchy. He has a really nice recording voice. No predictions of its success. Someone made a comparison to "Tattoo" and I agree. I like this one a bit better than that one so if Jive can make one a success see no reason they can't do the same here... if they are inclined. Wish him luck with it. Come on, whether or not you liked Tattoo, it was pretty much the definition of a radio-friendly song, and the Stargate sound was very "in" at the time. It's no mystery why it went top 5. This is *not* going top 5, lol.

I assume you're saying it's in the same vein as 'Geek In The Pink'. Well that song actually hit Top 40 if I remember it correctly. I do believe this will at least achieve a Top 40 showing. It has a nice catchy hook and a theme which listeners are able to relate to. And the song being Kris' first single should generate some buzz enough to push it to Top 40. Hot AC-leaning stations will play it and support it.

Still, he had already had a top ten hit, so I'm sure that's the main reason that song was even able to hit top 40. But music in the vein of that can only hope for something like a 30's peak on pop at best, and this is so sub-par I just can't see it even getting there.

Hm, I think people are being so overdramatic. I can't believe this even used in the same sentence as Taylor's and Blake's craptastic singles. I mean really?! This will go Top 20 at least.

And I think Break Anotha is much better than this, even though it is still craptastic. Sorry, just my opinion. But my opinion of the song isn't why I'm saying it's gonna flop so bad.

I think this is definitely better than Taylor and Blake's singles, and will perform better. But I don't think a top 20 peak is a guarantee.

Meh, Break Anotha was horrible for me. I love Geek in the Pink, so that comparison works for me

While slightly generic, I think this has potential. It sounds like a hit, I say slow climb to #6-#10 peak with longevity ala You Found Me.

Break Anotha is a terrible song.
Break Anotha makes this song seem like a Bob Dylan masterpiece.
Anything attached to Blake Lewis is instant fail.

But I heard Adam's doing great simulating mastabation on idol concerts and the 50+ women went crazy for him. You don't really need to stand up for him any more.
