from Buffy Lawson's blog (3-31-09)
Also wanted to share with you that Tony Brown (my all time favorite producer) called me in to his office last week to let me hear a song I co-wrote with Todd Cerney and EP, that Dolly & Kenny Rogers recorded. It is slated to be their next single. You can't begin to imagine what a tremendous honor this is. The recording was extrodinary and their vocals were magical. Not sure the exact release date, but it is my understanding their will be many primetime performances as it is a huge deal that those two legends have come back together to sing a duet!
Kenny Rogers released a new compilation on October 27th including the new Dolly Parton duet. I can't find an add date, but this was also posted on his site:
Kenny and Dolly's new duet, Tell Me That You Love Me, is being serviced to radio in addition to national TV appearances. Tell Me That you Love Me will only be available on this new Greatest Duets collection as well as on our companion box set: Kenny Rogers: The First 50 Years.
Could nostalgia alone get this song into the top 40?

I would love to see this song become a major hit for both artists. After all, this week marks the 26th anniversary of Islands In The Stream becoming a triple #1 on the country, pop, and adult contemporary charts. Kenny Rogers has not had a #1 hit since Buy Me A Rose in 2000 and Dolly Parton has not had a #1 hit since When I Get Where I'm Going with Brad Paisley in 2006. Their last #1 duet was Real Love in 1985 and they last charted together in 1990 with Love Is Strange (#21).
