Highlights are out and looks like kw was right as Telluride is nowhere to be found. Brad re-entered (I forgot that he had been on before as an album cut) at #41 with MG debuting at #59 and Rocket Club at #60. Looks like Michelle Branch stayed on or the Highlights missed another re-entry (which they do quite frequently). Maybe Jack & Patti managed to re-enter.
We'll see when the BCU comes out later tonight.

I just wanted to say that I really appreciated the updates and would love to see the Monday weekly update, if it's not a burden to do that.
Any chance the Top 100 for 11/16 is still available?
Thank you!

thanks so much Diego. With all of the Christmas songs in the top 50 that aren't BB eligible, it was going to be brutal trying to even predict the T40 without this info.

I can't believe (unless I missed it) that Sugarland's STELLAR song Coming Home didn't even chart.

Hi Diego - any chance for another update?
The Christmas songs don't seem to want to go away on All Access as I guess we'll have to wait for a few more days to get a normal Top 50 again.
Thanks.

Did Billboard employ a new rule on their charts for having re-entries for Christmas songs? I see that a lot of Christmas songs should have re-entered like Taylor's Last Christmas and Brad's Santa Looked A Lot Like Daddy, among others but the only new Christmas songs that charted were Rodney Carrington's Camouflage And Christmas Lights, Darius Rucker's Candy Cane Christmas, Trailer Choir's holiday version of Rockin' The Beer Gut, Gretchen Wilson's I Want A Hippopotamus For Christmas, Willie Nelson and Norah Jones' Baby It's Cold Outside and Sugarland's Gold And Green.

Billboard's rule is that a Christmas song is only eligible on the year that it is first released. The two songs you mention have charted on the BB charts previously and were ineligible this year.

And to possibly expand on the explanation that northerncountry just gave on Christmas songs, I think they have to be on a "current" album, that was released during the year/that same holiday season, for them to make it onto the Billboard chart. Five of the tracks from Faith Hill's 2008 Christmas album made the chart last year, and if one of the other seven songs on the album had for some reason started getting a lot of airplay this month, Billboard wouldn't have allowed it to chart since it wasn't from a "current" album.
Or at least, that's what I believe the policy is. NC used the phrase that the song is eligible when it "is first released", and just wanted to clarify that it is the corresponding album that has to be "first released" that same year, and not the "song", if you're defining that in terms of a label promoting a Christmas single.

To add one more point, this is not a new rule -- it goes back to 2001, I think. Or was it 2000? In any case, it's not new.

There wouldn't have been any re-entries from year to year during your chart-following years, so why would you have expected it to happen this year?

I hadn't realized that songs weren't eligible in years after their release, even if they didn't chart their first year. I guess I wasn't paying enough attention before.
I remember when that Jeff Foxworthy song ("Redneck Twelve Days Of Christmas" or something like that) used to make the top 40 every year. It's been so long since I heard it that I forget how it goes.

I'm sure you didn't mean to miss the #1 position though.
1 1 REBA Consider Me Gone 4985 4250 735 39.055
In looking at the data, we should either have 7 or 8 positions to fill on the BB Top 60 this week. We have 6 Christmas songs that will leave and Craig Morgan should go recurrent. Jimmy Wayne/Hall & Oates must be recurrent on MB so we don't see thier data, but they could easily have gone recurrent on BB as well.
So the best candidates to enter (or move back on) to the BB Top 60 would be:
1. Pray For You - Jaron & The Long Road To Love (Re-entry) 2. Look Who's Back in Love - Joanthan Singleton & The Grove (Re-entry) 3. Ala-Freakin-Bama - Trace Adkins (debut) 4. Jackson Hole - James Wesley (debut) 5. Gotta Get To You - George Strait (debut - this has almost charted a few times as an album track) 6. One More Drinkin' Song - Jerrod Neimann (debut) 7. Rain is a Good Thing - Luke Bryan (debut)
Other possibilities are that Rodney Atkins might be allowed to re-enter (even though he went recurrent earlier in December - stranger things have happened in the post-holiday week) or we could have re-entries from Jack Ingram/Patty Griffin or Mac Powerll/Brooks & Dunn, or we could get a debut from Colt Ford/Jamey Johnson with "Cold Beer" which has been lingering below the Top 60 for a long time.
It will be interesting to get back into the swing of things tonight as the BCU should be back with us again.
Thanks again Diego for all of the additional numbers.
Edit - I forgot all about Phil Vassar as he was still on the BB chart last week and there's a chance that he might have gone recurrent as well which would open things up for another song to enter. Again, Phil is recurrent on MB so no way of knowing if the song gained in audience this week or not.

If "Gotta Get To You" gets on the charts, it'll be from unsolicited airplay only on account that George still has "Twang" on the charts.
Mica Roberts might get a re-entry again for "Days You Live For".

I believe I checked before and George was only getting spins from one station in Texas, but it did generate a lot of audience from this one station. Not sure if one or two more have jumped on board, but he's always been around the 61-70 range on the chart each week, so with all of the available positions - this might be the week he finally makes it.

Thanks so much, DiegoMarcoCMM!
I received a PM suggesting that I sticky this thread so that DiegoMarcoCMM can access it more easily when he is looking to update it. That's fine with me; I just want to be mindful of those who have previously expressed concern about there being too many stickied threads in this forum. So if you have an opinion one way or the other on the subject, please speak up (for now, it's OK to post in this thread with your view -- if this turns into an extended conversation, I'll probably ask that we move it to PM). Thanks.

It's not as if there's no precedent for one big station getting and then keeping a song in the top 60. Before He Cheats charted for 18 or 19 weeks thanks solely to WGAR Cleveland.

I agree, this is worth stickification.
