What are songs that have gone top 40 on CHR/Pop that are less than 3 minutes?
Supergirl - Saving Jane: 2:58, #39 peak Teenagers - My Chemical Romance: 2:41, #22 peak Tina Parol - Who's Got Your Money: 2:38, #36 peak
If you don't know the peak or exact length that's okay.

Hot Mess by Cobra Starship is like 2:50, but I think that peaked a little outside of the top 40.

Hot Mess by Cobra Starship is like 2:50, but I think that peaked a little outside of the top 40. It actually did make top 40. It was officially #37 on the week right before the holiday freeze.

The album version of "The Way I Are" is 2:59, but the radio-edit extended it by about 20 seconds.

Don't forget the theme from Miami Vice by Jan Hammer. It was a #1 and I don't think it was even two minutes.

SOS Jonas Brothers Green Day- Good Riddance Time of Your Life
I think it should be songs under 2:45 which is a lot less common.

You know, I wish people would start writing shorter songs again. A lot of Prince songs are like 2.5 minutes. And most Beatles songs from their pop albums are like 2 minutes too. Its fun to listen to.
Enough with the 5 minute songs, it gets very tired very quickly.

Completely insignificant, all of them, compared to the granddaddy of them all, Maurice Williams and the Zodiacs' "Stay" (1960). Barely 1:37, it is the shortest hit ever to hit #1 on the Hot 100.

Enough with the 5 minute songs, it gets very tired very quickly. Personally, I'd take an epic tune over anything else, in any genre. The dance music world since 1973 is full of them. The longer, the more sophisticated or ferocious, the better.

I'm not sure if this makes the cut, but "Where My Girls At?" (Album version) was 2:47 but the radio edit was 3:10??? I guess it wouldn't make the cut or would it? Anyway, I believe it peaked at #1 on Rhythmic Top 40.

The longer, the more sophisticated or ferocious, the better. If it has to be long, let it be filled with music and lyrics. I can't stand long songs with 3 minute intros and breakdowns and shit. Its just very tired. Like "Its All Coming Back To Me" is long and epic and fantastic- it appears to have like 5 verses, lol. But George Michael- Freedom '90- wow... 6 minutes of what? Instrumentation? Chanting "Freedom" over and over? Its a 3 minute song stretched to its limits. Those are the sort of songs I'm talking about. Stuff like Bohemian Rhapsody and A Day in the Life are fine, because there's actually a REASON they're so fuckin long.
