It should be very interesting, because there is no single person who seems set to dominate.
Beyonce, Lady Gaga, & Taylor seem to be the frontrunners for alot of grammy love, but I don't see any of them dominating the General Fields.
Dave Matthews and Kings of Leon could take Album and Record of the Year.
I hope the voters do not just annoint any one single person as this year's Queen, because there is too much talent, and too many deserving artists, for any single person to win it all. I really hope they split up the awards.
This is what I would like to see happen, but it probably won't: (lol)
ie-- Song of the Year-- Single Ladies, Beyonce Record-- Poker Face or Use Somebody Album-- Dave Matthews, Beyonce or Lady Gaga
Then, Black Eyed Peas will win Pop Group Vocal for I Gotta Feeling, and a few in other Dance or Pop categories. Taylor will likely win Country album. I prefer Keith Urban or Leanne Womak winning but Taylor has this category for sure. She might also win Country Song too. Dave Matthews will win Rock Album, and either Green Day or Kings of Leon will win Rock Song. Pink will win Female Pop Vocal Performance. Kelly Clarkson will win Pop album (or Pink). Beyonce will win Contemporary R&B album, and R&B Song for Single Ladies. Lady Gaga will win Dance Album and Dance Song. Carrie Underwood will win Country Female Vocal for Just a Dream. Eminem will win Rap Album. Jay-Z, Rihanna, & Kanye will win for Run This Town. Colbie Colliat & Jason Mraz will win Pop Collab for Lucky

I just can't see Beyonce winning AOTY for some reason. I think either Dave or Taylor. But I am really having a hunch it will be Dave, but who knows.

I honestly think Taylor is going to get it. At which point I will probably vomit or go into a coma.
I'm pulling for GaGa out of all the nominees, but I doubt it'll happen.

I have a haunting suspicious that Taylor will sleep the general categories but I sincerely hope that doesn't happen. I'd love to see Gaga take at least one of them but I also doubt it. I think it'll be
AOTY - Taylor ROTY - Kings of Leon SOTY - Taylor BNA - Keri Hilson or MGMT

if taylor sweeps the grammy with her cornE ass songs.. the grammy's will officially lose all their credibility ..and they already walking on a VERY thin ice.

AOTY: Fearless (critically acclaimed and monstrous sales? No denying it.) SOTY: You Belong With Me (#1 on Country and Pop - maybe HAC, I forget- and praised as the perfect pop song, 2.761 million and counting sold, she wrote this one!) ROTY: You Belong With Me (#1 on Country and Pop - maybe HAC, I forget- and praised as the perfect pop song, 2.761 million and counting, she wrote this one!)
I honestly don't see how people can discredit Swizzle on these. I also stan for the KOL, but in this case I think YBWM is stronger than US (one of their weaker tracks on OBTN).

I don't think Taylor will get any of those. Kings Of Leon, Beyonce & Dave Matthews Band will be taking AOTY/SOTY/ROTY.
Taylor will get the country/pop awards

Some of you are delusional or just hoping Taylor doesn't win at least one in the general field. SOTY is probably the category she's winning. I wouldn't be surprising if ROTY was hers too.

the grammy's shouldn't be about who sold the most or had the biggest hits.. so those reasonings for taylor to win fall on deaf ears

I have nothing against Taylor at all. I love her a lot actually. I think she is one of the better artists in the past few years without a doubt, but she isn't going to win any of the big awards.

How dare I not bow down to Queen Taylor You actually predicted her... ;) KingB... Grammys are not supposed to be about chart success. It's supposed to be about quality. Yes. But don't act like some voters don't vote on what's popular, or who's who. That's a deceased statement that the folks over the Grammys want people to believe, but they have proved us wrong time and time again. And I'm not predicting Taylor just because of her success. I think she has a lot in her favor. Anything is possible. I don't think GaGa is winning anything in the general field, and I wouldn't be surprised if she was the big loser of the night, though I want her to take something. :'(

I think Kings Of Leon and Beyonce were both bigger in the respective categories. I don't think Taylor will go home empty handed though.

Because they impacted musical culture more than Taylor did. LMAO! How did KOL impacted musical culture more than Taylor did? And since when does that equate wins in the general field? I think KOL will win either ROTY and/or SOTY, but that reasoning is dumb and if you look at past winners you would see what I'm talking about. If KOL wins, it's because the voters prefer winners with live instrumentation, but even Taylor would fit that bill. SOTY is not about who made the most impact. GaGa made a lot more impact than KOL, but no one's predicting her. That's dumb reason.

I see Kings Of Leon taking either Record or Song, but not both.
Taylor will take the other one, I think.

This is how I see the outcome (though I may be wrong).
AOTY - Dave Matthews ROTY - KOL SOTY - Taylor
I wouldn't be surprised if KOL or Taylor took both. But I wouldn't be surprised if Taylor was the Amy Winehouse of the 2010 Awards and win both ROTY and SOTY and lose AOTY to a veteran aka DMB.

It appealed to people who don't normally like that type of music, and Taylor has already crossed over before. And what do you mean since when does that equate wins in the general field? What else are you going to base it on? Of course impacting music is a huge component. It is based on the quality of the songs and how they changed music. As much as I love (LOVE) GaGa, she is just a pop artist who got lucky, and come out at the right time. She is creative, brilliant, and fresh, but we are not speaking on the entire artists career. We are speaking just on one song. And I never said that KOL was bigger than GaGa, I said KOL song was bigger than Taylor song.

What made it apparent to me that Taylor has garnered a huge amount of respect in entertainment (not just the CMA sweeps) was when she accepted her award for Female Artist at the PCA. PCA's don't mean anything really but if you looked at that room when she won, the ENTIRE place stood up as if she were some sort of legend. That speaks volumes to me of what her peers (some of who will vote) think of the year that she's had. She had an escort up to the stage and the whole thing just seemed a bit regal for the type of award that it was. Watch out grammy's. By comparison Carrie won and nobody really did anything.

"Impact" does NOT equate general field wins, and if you look at past general field winners, you would see what I was referring to. "Poker Face" was covered, remixed and sampled by other artists as well. And If "Use Somebody" was "bigger" than Taylor's song it would have done better on the charts (not arguing that Taylor will win because of chart success), reached more audiences, etc. What is your definition of "bigger?" You're confused.
