So, i think it would be nice to have a thread for people to showcase some of their favorite songs. I mainly listen to Pop music, but I love anything from Country, to R&B, to Rock, to Reggae, to AC. I've been overwhelming myself with GaGa & Kesha! haha I love em, but I want a little more variety in what I'm listening to. So please feel free to give me some suggestions. :)

Check out Selena, if you haven't.
Try the spicy Techno Cumbia, or the fun Amor Prohibido.
Tu Solo Tu or Buenos Amigos if you're in the mood for a ballad. I have lots of suggestions regarding her, so let me know!

Selena also covered A Boy Like That for West Side Story.
Her prominent English tracks are included on Dreaming of You, there's a few other demos that she recorded previous to that (Only Love, Always Mine etc.)
Si Una Vez is a spicy number off the smash CD Amor Prohibido. Ya No is another fun track.
Tu Solo Tu was recorded for the movie Don Juan Demarco, and released posthumously on Dreaming of You, since Selena passed away before being able to complete the CD.
No Me Queda Mas is another great ballad from Sel, awesome music video too.
I'm sure you already know her english hits so I won't mention them.
one of her last recordings, a friend of her husbands was trying to make a track work and couldn't. Selena wanted a stab at recording a demo because she felt she could make the song work better, and he could use her recording to help record his final version of Puede Ser.

Maybe for Country, you could try Miranda Lambert or Jessica Harp?

Talking about popular acts.. I'm totally into Britney, Beyoncé, Gaga, Cheryl Cole, Ashlee Simpson, Hilary Duff, Jessica Simpson & Lindsay Lohan..i'm also in love with Rachel Stevens, a british singer and an originally from S Club 7..if you like pop..you should listen her two albums..Funky Dory from 2003 and Come & Get It from 2005..the last one is included on the list of "1000 albums that you should listen before to die" from The Guardian..she's working on her third album right now..so it's a good time to become a fan ;) Girls Aloud is a pretty good option too and the debut from Alexandra Burke, the X-Factor winner..she has an amazing voice..check out The Silence..a ballad produced from RedOne for her..

I recommend ATB, i like all the same artists you listed... he might be trance but his sound is totally pop, vocals are all different female/male artists, songs are fast to slow... i recommend
Ecstasy, Justify, My Saving Grace or Here with Me.

You could try Keep It Goin Louder by Major Lazer ft Nina Sky and Ricky Blaze but I suggest never seeing the video if you havent already....it will scar you for life. If you like europop at all try Alphabeat's Hole In My Heart.
Also try
You Used to Hold Me - Calvin Harris Holiday - Dizzee Rascal Let It Go - Cavo Ghosts N Stuff - Deadmau5 ft Rob Swire She Came Along - Sharam ft. Kid Cudi
You may have heard any or all of these before but they are just suggestions to check out if you haven't.

If you're openminded, I would suggest checking out Francesca Battistelli's "My Paper Heart" and Britt Nicole's "The Lost Get Found" albums. They are Christian artists, but their music is pure pop at its best, and not preachy. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. Francesca sounds a bit like Carrie Underwood, which is always a plus.

If you haven't caught up with them, try Muse. Resistance is a really good song, has kind of a poppy feel for a rock track:

If you're interested in an outstanding AC vocal performance then you can't go wrong with this. There's a problem though if you like it and want an mp3. You would probably have to rip it from the youtube. I haven't been able to find just audio of it anywhere. Anyway, it's Johnny Mathis singing "Pieces of Dreams". The incredibly amazing part starts immediately after the bridge.

Try out Nikki & Rich. They have a slight Motown/Pop sound, but it's fun. Nikki may call to mind Amy Winehouse, Billie Holliday, or even Lauryn Hill.

I really liked their first album and wondered what happened to them. Their song "Tongue Tied" is very similar melodically to David Archuleta's "Crush." I will have to check out their new album, thanks!

Anyway, it's Johnny Mathis singing "Pieces of Dreams". If you want an audio recording of "Pieces of Dreams," it's on this CD.
