I agree, I love these updates. They're very helpful. But northerncountry, please don't stress if you can't get them out as often as you'd like! I think you do great. And, I agree with Zazie. I'm not really worried about Otto. Lots of new singles are now coming in, his is a couple weeks old so the initial buzz has worn off, but it's barely April...this is a solid summer single from a NON superstar, so it's not gonna fly to the top...but I think it can get there. Darryl Worley is in big trouble though, and of course Jack Ingram's "Free" is all but done. Jimmy Wayne and Tyler Dickerson are also in trouble, I think...

Otto's currently in the same boat as a lot of songs in the 40-60 range on the charts, just waiting for some songs to go recurrent and open up not only chart spots, but also spots in higher rotations at radio. Right now there is a huge logjam from #41-58 with only .65 audience separating them. Jack Ingram and Darryl Worley seem to be done from that group, but no mid-range songs seem to be ready go to take a dive (I'm talking to you Lee Brice, Gretchen, Love & Theft, Matt Kennon). Those songs have all been stuck in park for some time (although Kennon jumps into gear every few weeks, but then settles back down), but until they decide to fall, it's likely going to be a slow climb for the non-established acts in that 41-58 range. New singles coming out from Carrie, a lead single from Dierks, and Josh Turner's new song in the immediate future certainly aren't going to help either.

The songs are now sorted by audience as that is the criteria that BB uses to rank their songs. If you like it sorted the old way (by MB position), just let me know and I can always change it back for the next update.

A few comments:
It looks like it's going to be a close call between Highway 20 Ride and American Honey. My guess would be that Zac Brown Band will get their 2nd week at #1 but it's going to be close. Lady Antebellum might have to wait till next week before they get to #1.
George Strait scores his 82nd Top 10 with I Gotta Get To You. He will be only 10 shy of tying Eddy Arnold's record of 92 Top 10's.
Debuts: Josh Turner (highest debut), Jake Owen, Trailer Choir
Gone: Blake Shelton/Trace Adkins, Jack Ingram, Katie Armiger
Their last week on: Easton Corbin, Carrie Underwood, Alan Jackson.
I almost didn't want to put "Temporary Home" in my predictions on account that I don't know if Billboard will pull this song because of the steep loss it has pulled this week. I kept it in my predictions as being #8 for the week but if Billboard decides to pull it then probably someone will debut or re-enter.

I kept it in my predictions as being #8 for the week but if Billboard decides to pull it then probably someone will debut or re-enter. Let's see, we agree on which three songs will leave. Josh Turner will have the highest debut, and I can see the other two you mention making it, but I will go with Easton Corbin and Carrie Underwood instead. Jake Owen is probably more likely than Carrie, you're right; and Rascal Flatts could always re-enter with their album track. By rule, Carrie cannot be pulled this week because she is in her second drop week and hasn't completed 20 weeks yet. She will end up in the top 10 in audience but it is possible, if she falls faster over the weekend, for her to end up outside the top 10 in spins. That could be close. So if she were wrapping up her 21st week instead of her 20th, I'd say you might have a point with Carrie. But no, she can't leave yet. By rule, Alan Jackson cannot go recurrent the following week because he still will not have completed 20 chart weeks, so he'd need 3 straight drops in audience and he had a bullet on the 4/17 chart. He could lose 14.5 million impressions and drop off the chart (setting a world's record for biggest percentage drop) but he cannot go recurrent.

I think Lady A might sneak into #1 on billboard this week...but it'll probably be really close.

I think Lady A might sneak into #1 on billboard this week...but it'll probably be really close. Usually when it's really close, the song doing the pursuing gets the #1 position. Let's see if Lady A keeps gaining tomorrow -- if so, I think they'll get #1. I expect ZBB to start falling harder but so far, it hasn't happened -- I want one more day of data. We should be getting a solid crop of recurrents over the next 3 weeks, but it's been awhile since songs have been cleared out of the way. I agree, Worley's had it -- he'll last one more week and that will be it -- but what we could use is some top 20 or even top 30 songs leaving. The ones mentioned by kw9461, plus Alan Jackson is moving toward the exits now.

Do you really think Carrie's "Undo It" will debut? She doesn't seem to be flying up the charts...and if I'm correct, it still doesn't have an adds date, so I'd believe that many stations won't jump on it just yet. Definitely Josh Turner will debut, and Trailer Choir is very probable too. I think either Jake Owen's Tell Me will sneak in, or possibly Williams Riley's Sweet September...if WR can't get on this week, I surely hope they get on the week after. This is an amazing song with a ton of potential, and its adds date was in late March so hopefully it can get on there and get going. I agree with Blake, Jack, and Katie A being gone. Is it possible for Darryl to leave? I haven't been following the song too closely to know if it's possible or if it will. Though Tyler Dickerson won't leave yet, his song is in trouble...and AJ won't fall off til his 3rd straight week of losses, which could be coming up...

Adds dates are irrelevant for superstars like Carrie, it's just a matter of when the song is shipped to radio, which I don't think has happened yet with that song. Given her status though (and the .1 bump in aud. over the last two days), it's certainly not inconcievable that she'll sneak onto the bottom part of the chart this week before exploding into the T40 next week. As far as which songs will debut, I'd say that Turner is, as you've said, a lock to debut. Owen appears to have the lead for the 2nd spot, with Armiger left trying to fend off Rascal's album cut, Trailer Choir, and Carrie for the last spot. Trailer Choir would be my guess, although it wouldn't take too much of a gain for Armiger to hang on. As for Darryl Worley, he can't go recurrent this week, as it will only be his 2nd week of declining airplay, but if he nose dives this weekend he may end up below #60 anyway, making recurrency irrelevant (he's lost .3 in the first 4 days of the week, and he'd probably need to lose at least another .25 to be in danger of falling off).

You never get rich betting against Carrie. That said, I suppose she is a bit of a long shot for this coming week.
Darryl was heading for the 56-57 range as of Friday but a bad weekend could take him all the way off. Usually, songs falling like this one don't have as severe a weekend drop as they did during the weekdays, but there are always exceptions.
Lady A has slowed to a crawl -- I guess it's going to be ZBB now that I've had my one extra day of data. Not surprised it's getting two weeks, but I am a little surprised that Lady A all of a sudden quit gaining.
And I much prefer getting the updates sorted by audience, so here's one vote for keeping them in that order.

I do think there's a good chance ZBB will stay at #1 on Mediabase (they're up about 300 points right now).

Steel Magnolia or taylor at 8? Starting with Friday's update, I started listing the songs based on this week's 7-day audience as this is more in line with what BB uses to determine the positions on their chart. Taylor is #8 on MB based on their point total system but is down at #10 in audience. Of course, on BB - they will still have Easton Corbin on the chart in the Top 10 as well so Taylor may not even make the Top 10.

I do think there's a good chance ZBB will stay at #1 on Mediabase (they're up about 300 points right now). Pretty tight race, but I think you're right -- Lady A #1 on Billboard -- Zac Brown #1 on Mediabase. Lady A: 37.585 Zac Brown: 37.543 (MB audience)Also interesting to see Keith Urban gaining over 2.5 in audience this week...

Lady A got their #1, but in the only truly important race on the chart, it was the Trailer Choir that nailed down #60 and moved one step closer to chart immortality.

O.K., I see LadyA getting 1, maybe 2 more weeks at the top, with Chesney following, since Urban is starting to fall.

I thought you were a big Joe Nichols fan -- did you give any thought to the possibility Joe's song will get to #1 ahead of Kenny? He's certainly on a pace to get there first, but maybe you think he'll slacken before he moves ahead.

^Ha, I'm not really a 'big' joe nichols fan, I just really like Gimmie that Girl, and I was thinking that Joe would get to the top before Chesney, but yes, I think Chesneys song will indeed get to the top first, by a close margin, but I could be very well wrong, we'll see!

^I actually had a thought cross my mind last night...what if Chesney gets stuck at #2, similar to Brad's "American Saturday Night"? while I think he still will hit #1, and Lady A hasn't been having super huge numbers, the scenario did cross my mind because despite American Honey being a dull song (I like Lady A, but not this song), it's way ahead of Ain't Back Yet...and sometimes if a song spends a lot of time at #2 without #1 giving up much ground, the #2 song can struggle...so maybe Joe will be the one to knock Lady A off the throne, similar to what Billy's "That's How Country Boys Roll" did to Josh Turner's big #1 "Why Don't We Just Dance". Now, I still think Chesney has a great shot to get to #1 (he is Kenny, after all) and I certainly hope American Honey doesn't hold the top spot for more than 2 weeks, but I think it might even be 3...I just can't wait for Lady A to release (hopefully) Our Kind of Love, as that's in season, or Love This Pain would be great too...
anyway, done rambling now! lol

Looks like Lady A has another huge multi-week #1 on their hands. (maybe 3 weeks this time?)
They still have a huge lead, and their song doesn't seem to be dropping very quickly...

A few comments:
Lady Antebellum spends their 2nd week at #1 with "American Honey" and first multi-week #1 since Josh Turner's "Why Don't We Just Dance" in February and March.
Gone from charts: Easton Corbin, Carrie Underwood ("Temporary Home"), Darryl Worley, Tyler Dickerson
Debuts: Carrie Underwood ("Undo It"), Kevin Fowler (highest debut), Chris Janson, Zac Brown Band's "Free".

Not much disagreement from my corner. I'll say the Trailer Choir drops out too, and that Carrie gets hotshot debut honors (she will steal the puppy from the Pound where Kevin Fowler brought it -- until I actually hear it, I'm all over this song). OK, that gives me room for one more debut, and I want it to be Dierks but will settle for Easton C. Otherwise, we agree.
