I had seen that ad today myself and I am discounting Shania Twain for the following reason: She just got married and the ad shows a broken heart (I do not think Twain's heart is broken right now!). Second, I think the ad is to set up a new signing of an artist (established or otherwise!).

^I can see your point, about Shania just getting married, maybe not having any time to release any music. But it could've been recorded a while ago, in the fall or something. Carrie Underwood got married while "Undo It" was still climbing the chart, after all...

I'd bet that ad is for a Lead-Single, which would rule out Jamey, Laura.

So it's down to...
New Artist (Most Likely I'd say) Re-establishing a newly signed artist (say SHeDAISY, just for example) Shania Twain Julianne Hough
Pretty sure it's not Jamey Johnson, Sugarland, Randy Montana, Laura Bell Bundy or Billy Currington. Anybody want to bet on it being for Holly Williams or Coldwater Jane?

I'd have my money on it being a lead single by a new act...
Any guesses on the name of the artist, group, or duo? ;)

Doesn't seem to fit Jamey but he does have " Heartache" maybe... Bingo. Looks like we've got our answer. I'm fairly certain it's Jamey Johnson's "Heartache", indeed. Jamey Johnson - "Heartache" Thread.

What is that Come On Home 2/14/2011 ad about? Could be anyone. They didn't even give us a hint this week with the label! My guess is it's a big new single. Nothing Carrie has seems to fit the "Come On Home" bill. The only announced singles that it could be would be Ronnie Dunn's "Bleed Red" or Jake Owen's "Help Me Help You", but I don't think it's either one of them. I'm gonna pin my money on a new single from George Strait here. He's due for a lead single, with his big tour just kicking off. It could be Kellie Pickler or Martina McBride though too, or maybe a male singer like Justin Moore, Rodney Atkins, or possibly even Dierks Bentley. Endless possibilities. Ugh, Country Aircheck, why can't you just tell us what it is?!

And she said something like "I write songs about people like that!". I can see this possibly being related to her. Assuming this song is about a wife/lover knowing of her partner's cheating and just wants him to come home.

Well let's do a quick proccess of elimination to see who we can narrow it down to...
Let's also assume we haven't heard anything about this single so no Jake Owen or Ronnie Dunn....
Possible Artists
Adam Brand Ash Bowers Blaine Larsen Casey James Band Danny Gokey Darryl Worley Dierks Bentley Eden's Edge Emily West (is she still with Capitol?) Faith Hill George Strait Hunter Hayes Jack Ingram Jennette McCurdy Jessie James John Rich Jordyn Shellhart Julianne Hough Justin Moore Kellie Pickler Kristy Lee Cook Lee Ann Womack Martina McBride Randy Houser (Lead Me Home? Doubtful) Randy Travis Rodney Atkins Shania Twain Tim McGraw Tracy Lawrence Trailer Choir Trisha Yearwood Vince Gill Wynonna Judd
These are the one's who are still signed with a label and seem to be still in the labels plans. For example while Coldwater Jane are still with Mercury they don't seem to be getting any attention from the label.

The Boot says "A new Dierks single should be to country radio by spring, with the album to follow shortly after.". So Dierks is out.

So now Dirt Drifters have an ad for their song Something Better. Same impacting date as "Come On Home". Perhaps the two ads are related?

Could that Come On Home song actually be Comin' Home from the Country Strong soundtrack?

This is really just mindless speculation but maybe someone's a releasing a cover of Harlan Howard's 'Come On Home Boy'. I'm not sure exactly who that would be but I was thinking along the lines of George Strait or Randy Travis & a duet partner.

I was thinking it was Howard's Come on Home Boy, also. Does anyone have a video of the song? I can find the lyrics. MMM Randy Travis & a duet partner. Would that duet partner be female? CU?

^Thanks for the link, but...
UGH!!! Another "Come On Home, Boy" ad without any clues!!! This time, though, "Home Boy" isn't one word (thank goodness).
This has to be some sort of big new single. George Strait maybe? Alan Jackson? probably not as likely to be AJ since he's still sorting out label matters, I'm sure.
I can't believe they haven't even given us a clue. It's only a week away!! My guess is it's George, or perhaps some surprise involving Carrie (but that's less likely imo). The only other guess I have is a really new, anticipated artist, or someone who has been on hiatus for a while. Maybe BNA's Kellie Pickler or the Casey James Band, although Danny Gokey has also mentioned he's got a new single coming out soon. He said March, but 2/14 could be when it's at radio and March could be when it goes for adds.
Hmmm...so many possibilities!!

I'm still betting that's a Randy Travis duet. Eamonn McCrystal -- fellow involved with the project -- tweeted a while ago that we would be hearing something in February & on top of that Randy's official site was updated to commemorate his 25 years in the business a few weeks ago. That's a signal to me that they are gearing up for promotion. And, the font in the ad even kinda looks like the font found over at Randy's site.

Well I am now pumped for this again. Last week with the "Come On Homeboy" turned me away 100%. I figured it would some horrible country-rap/rock song by someone like Colt Ford. Woo hoo!

Hopefully the people that are up in arms over the lack of a Carrie EOTY nom will read the article with Bob Romeo about why there are 6 nominees in some of the fields. Although I don't get the purpose of it. I'd understand if the 5th and 6th nominees were tied, they both get nominated. But when there's any tie in the number of votes between any of the top 5 vote-getting nominees... why??

This is getting CRAZY! lol... Guess it's only gonna be one more week til we find ou, so that's something.
My bets are a Randy/Carrie duet or the new Martina McBride single.

So next week they will hopefully reveal everything? Then the song will get a new release date to radio? Is that how it works?
