Janet Jackson's Rhythm Nation 1814 was LOADED with potential singles and Janet scored a record breaking seven Top 5 singles on the Hot 100.
This album is pretty much pop perfection. What was your favorite single?

Very tough. This was when Janet was shutting things down musically and commercially.
I picked Miss You Much, but not by much. 2.) Love Will Never Do (Without You) 3.) Alright 4.) Come Back To Me 5.) Rhythm Nation 6.) Escapade 7.) Black Cat 8.) State of the World
The top 5 are interchangeable.

I have been listening to this CD all morning, so I was pretty happy to come into this section & see this poll had also been created this morning! My favorite changes depending on my mood, but Rhythm Nation has been on repeat for a while so I'll go with that

"Come Back to Me" is such a gorgeous ballad. I actually think "Lonely" could have been a hit, too.

"Come Back to Me" is such a gorgeous ballad. I actually think "Lonely" could have been a hit, too. "Someday is Tonight" as well. As a matter of fact, every song off that album could have been a hit. Janet was ruling things back then.

Love that album. I have such a hard time picking a favorite as it may vary based on my mood, but "Love Will Never Do (Without You)" is always a fave.

In fact, it got a considerable amount of urban airplay, as well. It sure did. A few years back, there was this radio segment on this urban station where they played old R&B ballads on Sunday mornings, and it was played there. I didn't even know the name of the song, and I went on a hunt to find the song and got hooked to the whole Rhythm Nation album. "Someday Is Tonight" is my favorite song from that album. The album as a whole was cohesive. I don't think any of Janet's albums after Velvet Rope was cohesive.

I've said everything I've had to say about RN1814 in the past; top three cuts are virtually unrankable. ...yeah, I'll have another go at it: 01. 'Alright' 02. 'Love Will Never Do (Without You)' 03. 'Come Back To Me' 04. 'Escapade' 05. 'Rhythm Nation' 06. 'State Of The World' 07. 'Miss You Much' 08. 'Black Cat'
