I personally see no point in having a Japanese subforum. Japan tends to prefer Japanese artists and Japanese artists rarely make a huge impact outside of Japan, and this board focuses more on artists who are big in the US, Canada, UK, and other English speaking countries.

I would love a Japan or Asia subforum. I think the reason no one cares about their charts is because it's so hard to find the charts since they're all in Japanese. It would be a lot easier if someone posted them here for everyone to read

I would also love a Japan subforum.

I think this is a good idea. I was actually wondering the other day why we didn't have a Japanese/Asian sub-forum. There is obviously somewhat of an interest and I think it would help people become more interested in Japanese music. If it weren't for Pulse, I don't think I would have grown the admiration for Europop/Brit Pop that I have now. Basically, I think it can do more good than harm.

Surely you're aware that Oricon has the International Albums and Singles sales charts for non-Japanese acts, right? I just said that I'm aware of western artists charting in Japan. Did you not read? Anyways... I still think this is completely pointless. When I want to see how successful a song is on a worldwide stand-point... I look at charts in the US, Canada, Australia/NZ, UK & Ireland, some European countries and that's about it. I don't even bother with Japan. It just doesn't strike me as a country that needs a whole section on Pulse Music Board, especially when not many members of this site give two hoots about the music there. If anything, I'd say we should get an Australian board before a Japanese board is even considered. You realize that the Japanese music market is bigger than Canada, Australia, Ireland, and New Zeland's combined, right? It's hard for international singles to get much success there but plenty of Western artists consistently pull in six digit figures with their albums. Even if you don't care about the local music scene it's very much relevant to the white blond pop diva's you worship.

Right, but people talk about worldwide sales (including sales form Japan) of these "white blond pop diva's" in their Artist thread. I think that is a poor argument. For example, I get irritated when people start making threads about Britney's singles in the Canadian thread, unless the Single isn't released in the USA and is exclusive to Canada (only in NA obviously), but other than that, the discussions are the same, people say "Womanizer is #1 on Canadian Itunes" in the general (CHR/POP) Womanizer thread. But I do think a Japan sub-forum wouldn't hurt anyone, so if there is demand for it (for Japanese artits, or singles/albums from Americans released exclusively in Japan), then I'm all for it (although I wouldn't participate).
