Selective memory does actually apply here. It goes both ways. I particularly love how the radio interview she gave weeks ago in which she praised all of the "fearless female entertainers" (she said the same sort of thing -as she did in that statement she released today- when asked about the new group of females like Ke$ha, Katy, Gaga, Rihanna, etc ) went virtually ignored. Meanwhile an excerpt of a typical catty quote from her leads to pages upon pages of discussion. I'm not surprised or even bothered by it. Just endlessly amused for many reasons.

It's funny that people wouldn't understand the Christina hate right now.
1. She's copying sounds that are either incredibly dated or blatantly jacking sounds from other artists. 2. She's had a history of dissing artists through out the whole decade (Pink, Mariah, Beyonce, etc), so why would anyone be so quick to excuse this as an issue of being taken out of context? 3. It's obvious she's apologizing because the issue is having a direct effect on her success. She wasn't quick to apologize any of the other times.
Christina doesn't really deserve sympathy. It's about time her desperation, use of everyone elses artistic vision, and publicity antics have finally bitten her in the behind.

"You Lost Me" is my favorite Christina song. Ever. I agree.

I really wish the good singers turn things around. It really seems like they are all flopping (Mariah, Leona, Xtina) and it's not fair cause they actually got talent. I'm anxiously waiting for the next single =D Times when having a good voice mattered are long gone. Modern pop music is all about catchy hooks and strong melodies. Mariah and Leona flopped because they both created albums full of incredibly dated, weak material, devoid of strong melodies and hooks. Both need to get with the program if they want to continue having careers as pop artists. I don't think Christina's album will "flop" but it looks like it will severely under perform. From the clips we have heard so far I'm not hearing any definite smash hits needed to salvage this era for her imo. As for the statement she issued....all I can say is that if she was smashing with NMT right now she would not be issuing any statements regarding fellow artists. To me Mariah had one of the best albums released in "09". Memoirs" was an incredible album, it's just that the wrong singles were released, and some of the remix singles should have been on the original album, a gold album nowadays isn't a flop, may'be not as big for an artist of a certain caliber, but not a complete flop. Now Leona on the other hand ..... Mariah also had a hit single in "Obsessed" that sold 1.5 million units to her credit, and it had longevity on the hot100. Just bcuz "NMT" isn't an out of the box hit does'nt mean that her album wont' do well. Her album to me sounds incredible. There are many different sounds on it, the tracks are really nice. You can still make great vocal tracks with success, just has to be the right ones, and Memoirs" was more of an artistic album, everybody is not always obsessed with sells. Christina will do fine, and i wish her well.

I don't think Memoirs problem was the singles. Really? What else could have been a hit besides "Obsessed". Yes, we are all happy most fans found it to be among her best work, but, seriously, sales and radio showed that's not what the general public thought about it. And they had plenty of songs that were released as singles to judge from.
As for Tina, this is really shaping up to be a dreadful era. I'm still hoping that there is ONE song that can save this era. I really hope so.
PS: I think her apology was necessary.

Apparently "Woohoo" has been released as a single on iTunes. :O Link please. It's on the US iTunes main page but when you click on it a box comes up that says it is not available in the US store. Apple FAIL.

^ Search for "woohoo", it's at #48. It doesn't have it's page yet but you can purchase it that way.
BTW the album is up for preorder too.

Apple FAIL. The same thing happens when you click on Bionic (Deluxe Edition).

I hope we get this soon. I need new music. I still think Sex For Breakfast will be my fav unless it is something really slow and lame like your love is like having sex for breakfast baby or something.

I love how when Christina makes a comment towards another artist it blows into several pages of essay's and "theories", but when somebody like P!nk who also does the same thing people go eh and shrug it off. Keep on making her relevant h@ters by talking about her. You guys seem like the pressed ones.

It better be a dance-y upbeat song that you can shout with the boiz at the barz.

I don't know. The title Sex for Breakfast gives me the impression that it will be a slow, "sexy" type of song.
Does anyone else think You Lost Me has potential to be a 3rd or 4th single (if the era is still even alive by then)?

Ug I would hate that. I never liked LMFM even though people loved it. I wanted something more like Get Yours, Get Mine.

I didn't like Bionic when I first heard it, but now it's my fave of the songs I've heard so far. It's grown on me real fast.
