The UK chart is updated daily? I'm so confused lol Basically sales are tracked each day of the week and the information is passed on (then others who obtain it may post it over various forums ect). However, they do not give the full information (obviously) so it gives you a rough idea of how the charts are looking for sunday. :)

If I were her, I would follow this itinerary:
- End of June: Release second and final single. Let it flop unmercifully. - July: Paparazzi shoots of Christina partying and drunk as hell in the UK surface recurrently. - August: Tabloids report she tattooed the word "X-Tincta" on her forearm. (it's henna but how would they/we know?" - End of August: Interview Max and appeal to emotions. How much he "misses mommy" and all. - September: Video of Tina and Cher making out on the set of Burlesque up on YouTube. - End of September: Tina enters hospital for "exhaustion". Two days tops. Max is interviewed again. Barbra Walters special. - End of October: Tina is renewed. Photo of her, with a softer look holding her child, playing in the park, etc. - Rest of 2010: Begin promotion of Burlesque and throw in a good song. "Redemption" single. - 2011: Back to the studio on January. First single April. New album end of June.

People would compare her to Britney and might reignite fan wars that are unnecessary. it's too risky!

Maybe not a new album, but maybe an EP released a few months from now would help? She needs single material. While Bionic the album has grown on me a lot, there's really still no singles on it. Bionic the song has some potential, but that's it. Do you think maybe she lacks not only singles, but the sex appeal for sucess as well?

No, I think she's sexy, but I think there's a fine line between sexy and vulgar, and unfortunately, the NMT video crossed it, and THAT's the image a lot of people have for this era.
Personally, I think she looks her BEST in Burlesque.

Billboard.com:
It was Team Jacob and Team Edward versus the Gleeks this past week in the race to No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart, as the "Twilight Saga: Eclipse" soundtrack went up against the latest installment of the "Glee" soundtrack series -- "Journey to Regionals."
Well, Gleeks rejoice! The "Journey to Regionals" EP debuts at No. 1 with 152,000 sold according to Nielsen SoundScan, besting the "Eclipse" album at No. 2 with 144,000.
The new "Glee" set is the fifth soundtrack album release from "Glee" since the TV series launched a year ago on Fox, and the third "Glee" set to hit No. 1 following "The Power of Madonna" EP and "The Music: Volume 3 - Showstoppers."
Last week, industry prognosticators initially thought "Eclipse" was a good bet for No. 1, with a possible first week tally of around 140,000 to 160,000, while "Glee" was aiming for a number in the range of 110,000 to 130,000. As it turns out, while "Eclipse" performed to expectations, the "Glee" album bested the predictions and held up better through the week than anticipated.
However, the chances of "Glee: The Music, Journey to Regionals" holding on to the No. 1 slot next week are pretty much non-existant, as a certain red-hot act is primed to explode atop the tally next week. According to industry prognosticators, Drake's debut full-length studio album "Thank Me Later," which hit retail yesterday (15), is projected to sell in the range of 425,000 to 475,000 -- if not more -- by week's end on June 20.
If it moves as much as sources think, it'll mark one of the biggest sales weeks of the year for a single album. Currently, 2010's best frames were earned by Sade's "Soldier of Love" (502,000 off its debut in February) and Lady Antebellum's "Need You Now" (481,000 in its debut week in late January).
Back on this week's chart, Christina Aguilera's fourth English-language studio album, "Bionic," bows at No. 3 with 110,000. Her last effort, the 2006 double-length album "Back to Basics," bowed at No. 1 with 346,000 copies sold. Over on the Digital Songs chart, her new album's title track debuts at No. 39 with 43,000 downloads, while the set's first single, "Not Myself Tonight," re-enters at No. 56 with 30,000 (up 149%). Katy Perry's "California Gurls" retains the No. 1 slot with 353,000 -- up 11%. The top debut on Digital Songs this week is Justin Bieber's "Never Say Never" from the new "Karate Kid" movie, fighting its way to a No. 15 bow with 76,000. The song also features "Karate" star Jaden Smith.

Didn't care for that national anthem. I also don't like when it's used as just a big vocal showcase, but not only that--she didn't have the vocals to show off this time. She was pretty strained throughout, which is odd because the notes weren't that high and she's hit them with far more ease in earlier promo. Regarding the sales numbers, I don't know, she just seems to be falling into a long line of disappointing opening numbers. Hers are particularly weak, but it seems everyone's predictions on Pulse for major releases over the past year or so have been overinflated, and then followed by disappointment. I think the only one that overperformed Pulse's expectations was Whitney. I agree on both counts. The National Anthem sounded really strained, and on that last "free," I was just cringing. I do think peoples' expectations have been overly inflated. It's obvious that the first-week sales are not good, but I don't think it's such a horrendous flop.

Like when you're shopping but have a limit. Say what? This is something that only Xtina haters face. Speaking of which, what happened to Epic Brain Fail's Bionic thread? I enjoyed her performance of the NA and it seems it's getting good press. She needs all the good press she can get at this point with those sales. My hope is that she can at least go gold when all is said and done but who knows. No, I think she's sexy, but I think there's a fine line between sexy and vulgar, and unfortunately, the NMT video crossed it, and THAT's the image a lot of people have for this era. I totally agree. I think that video left a bad taste in lots of people's mouths and a bad feeling in their woo-hoos.

The sales suck hard, but hell some people here were predicting sales around 50-60K and not even close to 100K or not even debuting in the top 5. I am assuming most of those people were deliberately guessing low though.
I think her itinerary should go like this 1. Release single that is actually good even if its not the most radio friendly. It will flop and nothing will save the cd, but release something genuine quality from the cd instead of trying to be popular at this point. 2. Make a cheap, but cute video where she looks hot, but not over-sexy. 3. Let it flop and let the project die as an "experiment" that didn't work. 4. CANCEL THE STUPID MOVIE 5. Ok since she cannot do that get the movie out of the way as soon as possible 6. New cd next summer/Spring Image-wise, she needs a makeover and apparently needs to suck up to people who want an angel sweetheart pop star. That will be the hardest step because Christina doesn't do the sweety heart angel pop star thing very well.
The correct song or combination of songs with the right video/image will get her a hit again. I am not sure how much she is willing to compromise to do it though or if she has the right people working with her. It will be interesting to watch.

What a witch! I'm so happy she's such a flop! Surprise! Surprise! While being interviewed on The Jonjay and Rich Show, Valerie Bertinelli revealed Christina Aguilera was mean to her during a brief meeting in 2004. She said: "Christina Aguilera, I met her and she was so mean to me. I thought you know what, forget you. She's too young to be blowing people off. She went to a Van Halen show and I went to go say hi to her. My son was up there, and she's like, 'Yeah, okay, bye'." As I walked away I said to my friend, 'Did I just get dissed by Christina Aguilera?' and she said 'I think you did!'" Don't feel bad, Valerie! Just look at what Clonetina has become. God, she must be the only celebrity ever who has wanted to enjoy a concert without people bothering her just because she is a celebrity. Off with her head!

It is not like this is the only story about this that has surfaced over the years. There have been many many stories about her nasty attitude and from celebrities like Valerie and Mary J Blige at that!

I have also heard tons of great stories about her. Why doesn't everyone focus on those? Or do bad stories automatically eliminate literally all the good ones? I am still trying to understand the code of acceptable behavior when it comes to celebrities. Or is it just pop stars? Like, do you guys care if actors or actresses are heinous because most are known for being rude to fans and other people alike? Will you not buy tickets to movies anymore?

I had to look her up-apparently she did soap opera stuff and was married to Van Halen. I can guarantee Christina had no idea (though that doesn't necessarily excuse nasty behavior). I bet Valerie expected to be recognized and treated like a celebrity who gets more than just a hi handshake and bye though.

Why hasn't that label announced the 2nd single yet? This era is already over, sadly. It's my favorite Christina album.

Great stories obviously get outshined by the bad stories. If someone is nice 75% of the time and a bitch the other 25% that doesnt make them a nice person by default. When stories come out about how Christina is even rude to celebrities what is the general public supposed to believe about her attitude in general? I can only imagine how she treates the little people.

As SS mentioned, I think a EP would be a good look for her but I would wait until next year to release it. The public just isn't feeling Christina enough right now for her to be able to release more material, this could also hurt the chances of Burlesque doing well. Time shall tell on that matter however. An image under haul also needs to happen. No more gimmicks, identity crisis or whatever the hell one wants to call it. Also lets save the sex talk for someone who cares. It's overkill and since becoming a new Mother the constant need to prove that you still have it comes off as desperate. As the saying goes, usually the ones who moo the loudest give the less milk. Keep it between you and Jordy. Last but most certainly not least, show humility. The thing with Christina is that she doesn't need to be on some fake America's Sweetheart bullsh*t but she also needs to stop acting like she's some Boss Bitch! I actually wouldn't be shocked if Christina were to release Vanity to be defiant. As much as I would like to believe that people don't determine whether they are going to support an entertainer based on whether he or she is kind, I live in reality. Nowadays especially personality and overrall how one comes off to the public in every situation is crucial. People are looking for a flaw or a reason to 'hate' Christina constantly gives forth those reasons be it right or wrong.
