KanYe West to perform at 2010 BET Awards! BET announced today that the rapper will take the stage for “a dynamic comeback performance.” This will be his first major awards show appearance since last year’s memorable MTV Video Music Awards. While it has not been revealed what he will perform, there’s a good chance it will include his new single “Power” from his forthcoming album, which he performed live for the first time at a private concert for Chicago high school students this week. Ludacris, Rick Ross, and DJ Khaled have also been added to this year’s lineup. They join previously announced performers T.I., Drake, Diddy-Dirty Money, Nicki Minaj, and Trey Songz. The 10th annual event will be hosted by Queen Latifah and John Legend will receive the Humanitarian Award. The BET Awards ’10 airs live Sunday, June 27, at 8 p.m. EST from the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles. www.rap-up.com/2010/06/09/kanye-west-to-perform-at-bet-awards/

BET to give Prince lifetime achievement award This month's BET Awards will be a royal affair: Prince is getting a lifetime achievement honor. The 51-year-old joins the likes of James Brown, Whitney Houston, Diana Ross and Al Green in being honored by the BET Awards, which will celebrate its 10th year in Los Angeles on June 27. BET says the Prince tribute will stand out. Stephen G. Hill, president of programming, music and specials for the network, said BET will celebrate the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer's "unique style." "Prince is dynamic. Prince is genius. Prince is music," Hill said of the performer, who has 10 platinum albums and 30 Top 40 singles to his name. The BET show will be hosted by Queen Latifah and include performances by Kanye West. news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100615/ap_en_mu/us_music_prince

no Prince is a devout Johova's (sp?) Witness that ain't happening lol. and Lambert is more Bowie than Prince. I hope there are no rappers in the tribute, it could turn out really well or be an absolute disaster i just hope they don't have Trey Songz or somebody attempting to "sing" one of his songs lol.

But whos gonna pull off prince. I think Ne-Yo maybe. I think itd going to be female artist mainly performing. who else is going to hit those high pitched notes. I want to hear Little Red Corvette... i think Chris brown would be a good choice to sing it.

yeah i was actually thinking the same thing i hope they have more female vocalist hopefully Mariah Carey will be involved, Ne-Yo could do a few of his songs justice, Alicia should definitely be involved since she covered a few of his songs and he's pretty fond of her, Maxwell should definitely be involved too he could do Prince's music justice, oh yeah and newcomer Janelle Monae could definitely do his music justice she has a similar style to her, not to mention they hit if off pretty well when they met. maybe Robin Thicke? or Mary J. Blige?

Your predictions are beyonce - biased. I cannot see her winning over Alicia this year. Plus she has released only pop songs in the time span and she had her shine the last two years. This is Alicia's award to lose.

I voted for the Jay-Z song wit dat broad. It was enawwwmously exhillirating to see dem perform on the hallowed grounds of da Cathedrawl in da Bronx while I was back at tha compound in uhh Manhasset, wearing my yankee pjs while pounding uhhh fistfuwls of gabba gool as Roe prepareyed my side of beef and ahh replenished my Diet Coke IV drip. And then, to uggh hear it ova and ova again on all dah locawl newscasts as Alex held the ahh trophy up in tha aiyah was just enawwwmously exhillitaring, like mah in depth analysis on any of my shows.

They should have made him and ciara perform last year instead of those other poor performers a la keri hilson and jamie foxx. if Chris brown performed and ciara thats all BET needed. they didnt have to change their whole show and created a disappointment. Ciara and chris could've done Scream. Ciara could've performed to Smooth Criminal and chris couldve done a medley.

^Yup it would. But because BEt is such idiots they made Cici sang for 50 seconds when they know She CLEARLY is a dancer. She was the best dancer at the awards show and they didnt let her pay tribute the best way that she could.

Who wants to see Chris Browns wack woman beater ass performing a tribute to a legend? Keep him off the BET awards. Hypocrites. Ciara is too sexy and gets banned but Chris beats women and gets a big performance spot. The double standards in the black community are ridiculous.

Just because he made a mistake doesn't mean he need to stop breathing, working and being happy. He is the only male that can do a normal tribute.

He can live his life however he wants but BET doesnt need to support him. They could get Usher and Ne-Yo to perform tributes too. Neither of them are woman beaters and both of them are highly influenced by Michael Jackson. Even more than Chris Brown. It is ridiculous they can blacklist someone like Ciara and ask Chris Brown to perform when he is not even relevant anymore and committed a major crime.

I don't care if chris beat that bitch. I care about music and talent. Who wants to see usher gay moves. No thanks chris brown all day.

I didnt say Ciara is irrelevant. I said Chris Brown is and you really make yourself look ignorant calling Ushers dance moves 'gay' and not just because a lot of his 'gay' dance moves were inspired by Michael Jackson.
