Latest rumor is that the lead French single will be sent to radio on July 9, with a digital release on the 11th. The album would be released in October, with the English one to follow in November. Chances are, this will all be changed two days from now.

Céline's official Facebook page confirmed today that there will be two albums this fall, meaning the October/November release schedule is likely.
Also, a short snippet of new song "Didn't Know Love" was played during an interview on the Today Show this morning:

Both albums will come out in October (with the English album first!), and the English one is titled Water And A Flame after the duet between Daniel Merriweather and Adele. Also included will be a duet with Stevie Wonder on "Overjoyed" and a duet with Ne-Yo. Looks like there will be a few covers as well--along with "Water And A Flame" and "Overjoyed," she'll record studio versions of "At Seventeen," "Open Arms," and "How Do You Keep The Music Playing."

From Celine's official website:
During April and May, Celine began recording songs for her next English and French CDs which will be released later this year. The French CD will feature all new material and the English CD will feature studio versions of previously unreleased songs from her Las Vegas show, as well as several brand new songs. "We do a lot of songs in the show that I've never recorded before, and people are always asking for these when they visit our Boutique, so it's great that we'll finally have these recorded.” Celine added, "I've also received some amazing new songs that I'm very excited about", and eventually we hope to put one or two of these into the show." We can’t wait! Until then, you can see Celine perform in Las Vegas this summer.

^WOW!!! She sounds great. I think she has great versatility, despite most people knowing her name for sappy AC ballads.

I do not care what Celine sings. As long as she is in great voice, I will support the project.

Ok, Celine needs to get away from A/C and inject some soul into her material. That cover of RITD was great!

Ok, Celine needs to get away from A/C and inject some soul into her material. That cover of RITD was great! ITA - Celine has a such a strong, soulful voice - it's too bad she plays it safe with syrupy stuff (Overjoyed, Open Arms, At 17, really?) I'd like her to tackle more aggressive stuff. I remember she sang You Shook Me All Night Long for some program and she was amazing. I hope she adds a live version of RITD to the new disc as a bonus track. People will be surprise.

I believe she sung it with Anastacia for a VH1 Divas special if I recall correctly.

Yeah; I'd love to see a studio cover of RITD get released somewhere--I almost thought to reserve it for a bonus track or B-side, but it wouldn't be that out of place on the regular album considering the number of covers (and from those in the show, at that) already slated for the tracklist anyway. Also agreed on the more "aggressive" stuff--even songs that are still AC-friendly like "I Drove All Night" and "Fade Away" from TC, that aren't all that soulful but are still upbeat and energetic, would be a nice change.

I'm not really looking forward to all of those covers. I've never really been a big fan of her covers (of hits at least; she had some obscure covers I like). The last Céline album I was really looking forward to was A New Day Has Come. All of her albums since One Heart have been really boring to me.

Obviously her covers of Power of Love and All By Myself, I Drove All Night and If You Asked Me To are flawless. When I Need You, and River Deep, Mountain High she really hits those money notes. But remember Alone? Nobody was checking on that. I'm guessing that Open Arms is going to be the same route. At Seventeen and Lullaby are snoozefests though. She should just do them as iTunes exclusives and not put them on the album.

But what about her last album? She had some really nice songs (i.e. Eyes on Me, Shadow of Love, That's Just the Woman in Me)! If anything I would say, not exactly try to make her current, but give her some dramatic songs that really suit her. Songs like It's All Coming Back to Me Now, All By Myself, The Reason are what people like to hear from her.
She could even try a little bit more sensual dance songs since she does sound good on the production (i.e. Refuse to Dance, I Drove All Night, Reveal). Don't autotune her to death but give her some songs that will at least graze the current scene.
She just needs songs that match the life of her voice. What made albums like A New Day Has Come/Falling Into You/Let's Talk About Love so special is that they were so varied but were well-written and unique (and also varied the pace throughout). Let's get back to that.

I think RITD is too recent, and would not be good for her to release in the studio. If it were a B-side, that'd be different.
Eyes on Me should have been a single in the U.S. hands down. That was a missed opportunity if I ever saw one.

That was a missed opportunity if I ever saw one. Yes, and since it was co-written and featuring the background vocals of Delta Goodrem, it might have better introduced her stateside as well. (don't get me started!) Responding to what Seph said, yeah, I liked a lot of the material from Taking Chances, but that's probably because Kara Dioguardi wrote much of it, and I think she's a great songwriter...

Cover of "(If You Can't Sing It) You'll Have To Swing It (Mr. Paganini)" confirmed to be part of the English tracklist. In an interview, René said the French album will likely be out at the end of September, with the English one a month later.

I can't wait for a new Celine Dion album! Her last CD was so good but was market to radio so poorly with the wrong single choices after the awesome "Taking Chances" peaked.

About the same chance of Loretta Lynn having another Country hit or Diana Ross having another R&B hit.

What do y'all think of her having chances of getting any pop hits? Unlikely she'll have any hits except on AC...especially if they continue to release covers as singles.

Well they can always pull the ClearChannel stunt with the first single played every hour to guarantee a top 40 hit.
