She just announced René (her husband) won't be her manager anymore. Whoa. For the first time in her career, Canadian songstress Celine Dion has appointed a new manager, as her husband steps down from the position he has held for more than 30 years. Rene Angelil, who had a cancerous tumour removed from his throat in December, will now serve as chairman of Dion's Feeling Productions Inc., the company said in a statement.
"It is with great pleasure and with the utmost confidence that Rene Angelil announces today that his long-time close friend, Aldo Giampaolo, has been appointed as chief executive officer of Feeling Productions Inc., the company which manages Celine Dion's career," the statement added.
"Celine and Rene have decided that the time has come to bring this appointment to fruition, one that Rene had proposed to Aldo several years ago," the statement said. Giampaolo, who has worked as CEO of sports and entertainment group Quebecor Media since July 2013, has spent nearly 25 years in show business, and worked for Cirque du Soleil from 2005 to 2011.

Wow. A very surprising move. It is exteemely rare that someone new comes into Celine camp. Hopefully he does some good.
Meanwhile according to Billboard, as of this afternoon the All by Myself video had over 4 million views.

Hasn't the album been released in the UK? If so, the track's been available for some time. I see the the digital release in other territories had the track, "Open Arms" and "Loved Me Back to Life."

It was, and it spent a few weeks in the Top 10. From the Official Charts Company: DEBUT: 23/11/2013 LOVED ME BACK TO LIFE CELINE DION (Columbia 88697137152) PEAK: 3 WEEKS ON: 19

Did they ever release the BBC radio mix of Loved Me Back to Life digitally anywhere? I wouldn't mind downloading it if it's available.

Celine Dion has made a very serious announcement:
Celine Dion has decided to postpone all of her show business activities indefinitely, in order to focus 100% of her attention on her husband Rene, their family, and associated health issues. Since Rene's surgery last December to remove a cancerous tumor, it's been a very difficult and stressful time for the couple as they deal with the day-to-day challenges of fighting this disease while trying to juggle a very active show business schedule, and raise their three young children.
Celine has also been fighting an illness that has caused inflammation in her throat muscles, and has not been able to perform any of her scheduled shows in Las Vegas since her last show on July 29th. She has still not recovered from this condition. "I want to devote every ounce of my strength and energy to my husband's healing, and to do so, it's important for me to dedicate this time to him and to our children. I also want to apologize to all my fans everywhere, for inconveniencing them, and I thank them so much for their love and support." said Celine.
During this hiatus, Celine will cancel her shows at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace until further notice. She will also cancel her tour of Asia, previously scheduled for the fall of this year. Celine and family have requested that their privacy be respected at this time.

Celine is a class act all the way and clearly has her priorities in order. It's pretty clear things are very bad with Rene, which explains the new manager two months ago. I really wonder how Celine will change when the day comes that Rene is no longer in her life. I mean - he has been guiding her since she was practically a child - so she never really had time to develop her own identity without his guidance/influence.

www.people.com/article/celine-dion-returns-las-vegas-residencyCéline Dion Will Return to Las Vegas StageCéline Dion is headed back to the stage! After taking an indefinite break from her Las Vegas show last summer to care for her husband René Angelil, who has been battling cancer, the singer's rep confirms to PEOPLE that Dion will resume her residency at Caesars Palace's Colosseum in late August with a revamped show. Dion, 46, recently sat down with PEOPLE and Good Morning America to speak candidly for the first time about her return, the severity of her husband's condition and his treatment following the cancer's return, as well as life with her family of five. "It is very emotional for me and I'm anticipating the emotions to grow even more as the date gets closer," Dion tells PEOPLE. One big comfort for her during this difficult time? Her fans. "It's very touching," she adds. "Every night is a new show … I promise there will be high, happy notes."

With Celine, Britney, and Mariah... I'd be shocked if Vegas doesn't become more gay-friendly REALLY quick.

Celine's Vegas show will resume August 27th. That means Mariah's show will only be from May-July then correct?

Brutal interview. Her honesty about what is happening in her life is incredible and very touching.
For all the jokes one can make about her personality, she's truly one of the rare people who grew up famous and working and was still able to grow into a stable adult.

I really admire her candor. It's really refreshing to see someone talented and famous who also has their priorities straight. You can tell her family means more to her than anything else.

Celine has always been direct. There's never any pretense with her. In a strange way, she has been not been affected by fame. I loved her response about TV and going on stage - the reporter feeding the line that she's a showbiz person and Celine responding with "Because I love him." Just wow - not the type of response that you would hear from almost any celebrity. It really all makes sense why LMBTL promotion sputtered right after that. Oh, I also love how she pointed out that the "divas" are all unique - not a competition. She always manages to stay over the fray.

I'm listening to Beauty and the Beast. It's a damn shame that NO ONE, not even the divas that did them originally, make epic duets and songs like it anymore.
