This era has become a complete joke It's been a joke since NMT was released.. that mess of a song. Seriously, what RCA need to do now is force her into the studio to record some good songs for Burlesque's soundtrack, and release a new single that could actually do something instead of releasing a 2nd single that would flop too.

Even though I dont like repeating myself. But I have to state this again. I wish she would just tell the media that this was a prank. Im sure she will beat Ashton kutcher as the queen of pranking people. She punk'd over 110 k in one week :o

The thing I don't get with fans is why do they let success and sales change their opinion on the music? I mean, if you liked the album so much when it leaked, why would you all of a sudden say it's not good and she needs to move on just because it flopped? Either you like the music or you don't, the sales should have nothing to do with it. The fans do like it and the sales haven't changed their opinion. Don't let the posters in this thread fool you. They have Christina in their avatars but they aren't fans, they just like hanging out in here just so they can bash her whenever something happened.

If Hurt can go top-20, YLM should do just fine. I'm excited.

It was always likely to be a failure, lets not act that we ever thought it was going to do well. The direction she was going for was never going to sit well with the majority of her fans, let alone the mainstream public. Excuse me? She was definitely going for a mainstream sound with this album. "Futuristic/electronic" has proven to be successful lately. Ask Fergie and her friends. It's not the public's fault that her effort turned out to be so lame, probably out of trying to be so innovative and above her competition Unfortunately, the best songs on the album -which are scarce- are the ones that do not have that mainstream appeal indeed. Summarizing, she is a mainstream artist who just released what was supposed to be a mainstream album. Although, because of her wanting to be so innovative and experimental, it turned out to be a mess.

Sales, overall accomplishments et cetera are the main ingredients for those wars. So what you have are people who may enjoy the music but disappointing sales make them enjoy it less because they have no ammo for their arguments on who is better.

However based on name, it could do something, just like NMT rocketed up, then the bad press built up ect and it then died. I doubt that will happen with YLM. That should be a slow and steady rise, people saying "OMG, I love this song, Xtina is back!" and the rest is history Although I would prefer Bionic now and YLM during fall

Yet again I have to say the following, this is Christina Aguilera, not Bjork. Xtina and this album in particular are the epitome of mainstream. This record is full of Britney, Gaga, and Fergie impressions among others. She baited mainstream attention as much as possible. The problem is she forgot to fill the album with hooks and good choruses.

It's like ever since "Stripped" came out, her fans hype her music up to be some avant garde "deep" artistic work of art. It's a total joke. She's making the SAME shit as her peers! Even that FAUX retro/jazz cd she put out a few years ago, which by the way, hardly contained many jazz elements like she portrayed. That cd was hardly other-worldly either, they could've worked that album into an actual success if they picked the more mainstream songs, which were many.

I like this album. Is it the best she is capable of? No. But the futuristic vibe is hot right now, ala Black Eyed Peas, etc. And I do think she shows some growth as an artist on this album by pushing the boundaries a bit.
I like the ballads the best, but that is because her voice is her biggest asset. She doesn't need all the bells and whistles and hoopla of heavy production like lesser vocalists do, to hide their flaws. When Christina just lets it rip, she is on top of her game on this album.
I do like Bionic, Not Myself Tonight, Elastic Love, and the Glam song (can't recall the title but it reminds me of a cross between Vogue and Fergie's Glamorous).
But the ballads are really her best. You Lost Me is a good choice for a single, I would say.
not sure why people are acting like her career is over just because sales are down a bit? Sales are down for everyone unless you are a teen like Justin Bieber or Taylor or Miley, etc., as teens are dominating the market place right now.

RCA will need massive payola to get Top 40 stations to touch this.

A pretty major problem. It shocks me that Christina felt this album stood up to par with her previous releases. She had access to every possible songwriter, and had the label support of allowing her a 4 year hiatus. A wasted opportunity. You Lost Me is quite lovely, but it's just not enough.

YLM will absolutely not rocket up based on her name alone. Her name is now tarnished. What from this era has been a success? Her lead single? Her album sales? Her tour?

Now fans are blowing up Julie Pilat's twitter account because she is the program director for LA KISS FM station. She did an interview with Perez Hilton where they appear to be very cool with each other. So now conspiracy theories have risen again concerning them not playing NMT on their station. Siiigh. Why can't some people just come to terms that nobody liked it? It wasn't just this one station. search.twitter.com/search?q=@juliepilat

If Hurt can go top-20, YLM should do just fine. I'm excited. Hurt was following a hit during an era that was getting good press. Completely different. I LOVE You Lost Me though and I would love for it to be huge and bring ballads like this back.

The Christina fans are gonna make KIIS never want to play a Christina song again. I have heard past stories of radio stations boycotting songs because of overbearing fans.

I agree, YLM needs the support of as many stations as possible, including LA KISS FM.
