I finally heard this song last week after a remixer friend of mine told me that he remixed this one. He is very selective and particular when it comes to choosing what he remixes so I assumed it had to be something good.
I was surprised by how similar it was in many places to "Behind These Hazel Eyes", but I absolutely loved that song so I guess it's okay. And considering this is the first Fefe Dobson song I have ever heard, I like this.
I thought the video was a little strange though.

I'M SO DISAPPOINTED IN AMERICA Again. Your country is becoming medicore, garbage.
In Canada this song is getting top 5 airplay in the Country. It is clear the US is the problem, America is the problem. How the F*ck do artist that Fefe Dobson has more talent in her pixie get more play the Fefe Dobson in the America. It is f*cking crazy because if Fefe was getting play in the US then her singles will be getting Number 1 in Canada.
Your Country is so F*cking frustrating and you fail everytime, just look the your economy. Fefe Dobson songs gets more play then Justin Bieber, Drake and Avril in Canada, what the F*ck is wrong with your country.

Anyway, I still think this can turn around, it's negative bullet is really small, and it's AI is actually gaining. The song needs to get a good 7-10 adds next week for this to actually make and stay in the top 40.

america is so f*cking stupid. The unemployment in the us is 10%, the banking system collapsed, and the housing the real estate market tanked. There is a gun violence problem in the us and youth gangs are taking over the us. i heard that avril what the hell bullsh*t and its is the worst f*cking I have heard all year. I heard a clip of it become it came out and I was like this cannot be the single because it was so garbage. Well it is the single. I was expecting something like Katy Perry quality and was given a sh*t water of a song. There is a reason why a barely hear that song on the radio, its because it can't hold in weigh against the other great songs on the radio. that america for you.

So many Canadian artists deserve to be successful in the US. I hope Fefe gets the chance.

I think it's Rihanna loyalist holding back Fefe. This song is not getting major adds even though it's top forty airplay. I smell a conspiracy.

I would like to see a second adds date for this. There should've been one set up for the end of January already, but they missed that chance. It sounds great on radio for the few times I actually heard it. It's definitely proven it has legs to stand on. It's been in the 38-50 range for months now.

no need to trash the us. Many of us think us radio is terrible, remember the people don't decide it's up to PDs, advertisers and big music labels that control what gets in. It's even tougher for non us acts, very few seem to get into top 40.

Now that this is really dropping I don't know what they are going to do. Push it a bit more with performances and stuff? Or scrap it altogether and part ways (again) with Fefe? Or try yet another single? Ugh, she deserves so much more success than she gets. Hopefully Canada will get a third single pretty soon though (either TFN or ICB).

I think this single is done in the us. Once it's done in Canada imo they will release one more single for the us. The upside(album sales) is too big not to make another attempt. Imo I can't Breathe may be able to break through.

I really do think "Can't Breathe" can break through if released. It's an amazing song.

I think Fefe could finally get on to the hot 100 again if CB gets an idol performance, sounds odd at first but orianthi is on it and she was on idol 3 times last year! So CB could be the biggest hit of the album in the US

Fefe is on Universal Canada here in Canada (21 Records in particular), while she's on Island Def Jam in the US. I don't think there is any doubt that she'll get another Canadian single, possibly even 2 or 3 off this record, but her fate in the US doesn't seem so certain.

With this song on the way down on CHR, I have to wonder: exactly how much did Island invest in Fefe this time around? She got FAR more American promotion for the first album... just imagine how much bigger this song would have been if she made the talk show rounds or actually toured the US.
STILL: Top 40 CHR hit Top 10 Canadian smash Heck, the video is #4 this week on the MuchMusic Countdown. And this thread grew 3x bigger than the one for "Ghost"
Not too shabby.

BTW, this song is flopping because it sound JUST LIKE Kelly Clarkson's "Behind These Hazel Eyes". Plain and simple.

I reallyyyyyy wish this song could have done better. Although Top 40 is higher than I expected to begin with.

Moving on from ALL OF THIS... Not even gonna address everything in this thread, as should everyone else.
I'm so excited that we're getting a new Fefe single after Stuttering is done, even if it is all but certain to be Can't Breathe. I feel like Thanks for Nothing might be more radio friendly, but they know more about radio than I do, so as long as whatever they choose does well, I'm all behind it.
I still have faith that Stuttering could keep rising, but top 40 was all I could ever ask for and it did that so...

[quote ... if this was a dance song soundalike it prbly wouldve done well, but since its a pop rock soundalike it stuggled more[/quote] Is pop/rock really struggling? Not so sure, I think it has more to do with the artist and promotion. I don't think it's necessarily her label, isn't her management company supposed to get buzz out and gigs?
As for Can't Breath, I read in some interview that they are considering her next single and that it's currently leading. There is no official word.
