^ Both the new variant and signed albums said they'd ship "on or before May 31" so she could probably block Billie if she wanted to. I don't think either has shipped yet as I haven't seen any posts about people receiving them.

Ooh, I love Risk and the snippet of Close To You. Hope it's upbeat like those, but wouldn't be surprised if its a ballad.

I like that cover but yeah, unnecessary. She did this with other albums but those were digital only.

I wonder if this was a pivot from the Drake collab. The single cover is a photo from the MET earlier this week so a bit rushed it seems lol.

Even if the album has disappointed commercially, she has enough hits to her name to likely still sell out a tour, so she'll be fine in that regard. I'm sure they're already planning Radical Optimism: The Seven Seas edition or something, so hopefully she has some hits there.

I enjoy the album for what it is but it's not what it was sold as, lol. This era has been really messy—especially coming off a nearly perfectly executed era.

CD single of Fortnight is back for sale and says will “ship on or before May 31” so we can probably expect more weeks at #1.

Might get a third week when the CD singles ship, but yeah. Not bad for the type of song this is.

If the they promised shipment "on May 30" then they could always ship it early if advantageous to them. Otherwise guess it's returning to #1 that week (if it's not still there).

Do we know if Taylor shipped the Fortnight physical singles yet? Wouldn't surprise me if her team strategically ships however much she needs each week to stay at #1, lol. She apparently sold 100k so could ship 20k next week, 30k the week after, etc.

Another thing I’ve noticed with so much of the criticisms, especially with the lyrics, are people taking things out context or missing the point and not realizing that and it’s amusing because it’s another reminder that whenever people speak about anything, they’re simply telling more about themselves rather than what they think they’re saying. It’s too bad so many are acting so superior over it. So many of the viral tweets making fun of lyrics just show people don't have reading comprehension anymore lol. I'll give them the Charlie Puth/golden retriever line but failing to understand lines like 'the asylum where I grew up' ("YOU GREW UP IN A MANSION!") or the "my friends smell like weed or little babies" ("JUST SAY SOME OF YOUR FRIENDS ARE PARTYING AND SOME HAVE KIDS IF THATS WHAT YOU MEAN!") is just... c'mon.

The Paste review reads as engineered rage clickbait to me, and Rolling Stone has been giving out 5 star reviews and "instant classic" labels like candy for the past couple years. Both reviews are best ignored imo lol
It's kind of become "cool" to hate her again because of how big she is once again, but like last time, it's a loud minority. I think blanket statements about how the general public have moved/are moving on are more than a bit hyperbolic.

All the signs were there but I didn't think she'd do the exact same thing again! Alas, good thing I have a 3 hour flight today to digest this album in full properly now.
I read the Epilogue on Twitter and that helped contextualize the album a lot for me. Shouldn't have commented before properly listening and digesting.

I care less about the length of their relationship and more that Matty is a shitty human being having love songs written about him including one calling out her fans for being against it, lol.
She does end up destroying him on “the smallest man who ever lives” so the arc is there but still a bit iffy on it all.

This is kind of how I feel lol, I'm really liking the album after a few listens but almost an entire album about Matty is a lot for me to digest.

This would not have been my pick for the single, but I guess Hozier is about to hit #1 so maybe this will do okay.

Arenas in North America is... bold, even for a co-headlining tour. I'll def go but curious to see how it sells!

She has yet to have a real solo-write hit ever since she left the country days if I’m not mistaken. I was already thinking My Boy Only Breaks His Favorite Toys might be the first or second single based on the catchy title, its track list placement, and having one of the only truly Gen z friendly runtimes. If she is out for a solo-write smash this era, then that would definitely lend more weight to that as a focus single. Lover underperformed at the time but has aged into a pretty big hit and staple for her.
