Kris had to have more surgery on his broken wrist this past week. He tweeted that he will have some permanent loss of range/motion in the wrist, although he will be able to play guitar and piano once it heals. This is actually the first of 2 surgeries -- a more extensive one is scheduled for later this summer.
How this affects his plans to get back into the studio is not clear. He does have some more tour dates in June, and it appears that he will be doing those.
And, of course, he & his wife are having their baby boy in July.

It only sold 24K in its debut week, it's falling down the iTunes chart and country radio doesn't seem to be playing it. I have a feeling that this is going to end up being treated as an Idol coronation song rather than a real single and won't get pushed to radio.
I saw that Candice (the Idol winner) is already recording a second single, so I wouldn't be surprised if Kree releases another single pretty quickly as well.
PS - I've seen nothing about Kree's album coming out this summer -- only Candice's.

why did anyone give her a record deal? She has more than enough money to release her music herself.

It's hard to say how this will do on CHR radio. It's not a pop song and it isn't going to get the same sort of push from the label that "Home" did. On the other hand, it has done very well on AAA and HAC and is likely to go platinum (it is closing in on 800K in sales).
My guess it that it has a chance at going Top 20 but I'd be surprised if it cracks the Top 10.
Interscope doesn't seem to be concentrating on CHR radio for Phillip -- they are much more concerned with establishing him on AAA and HAC radio. So whatever it does on CHR radio is really a bonus.
His health concerns have cropped up again, forcing him to cancel the last part of his recent tour (the dates have since been rescheduled for October or November). Hopefully he will be ok to go out on tour opening for John Mayer ss scheduled (it sounds like he will be). I wouldn't be surprised if his team tries to cut back on some of the promotional stuff and just focus on the actual gigs for awhile, rather than overstuffing his schedule.

I would disagree about the band -- I think they are very good musicians who play off each other and Kris very well. Nothing amateurish about them at all. Obviously the dynamic for this tour is different since Kris can't play guitar or keyboards himself because of his broken wrist. The keyboard player, Andrew, was hired when Kris was injured, so he has only been working with the other guys for a couple of weeks.
It is interesting that Kris has dropped The Vision of Love from his set. He hasn't performed it even once on this tour so far. I'm not surprised he isn't doing more songs from KATA, because this tour is really to promote Thank You Camellia more than the first one.
Love that he is doing one song request every night. He has shown off his versatility with these. Besides Waterfalls and Cry Me A River (both of which were really good), he has done Let It Be, Get Back, Breakdown (excellent cover of the Tom Petty Song), When Doves Cry, The Scientist, Let's Stay Together, Ho Hey and Lights. If anyone is interested in checking those out, there are videos of all of them (except for Get Back) up on YT.
The tour seems to be going well. He has been packing the venues at most of the stops and I've seen several people who weren't really fans of his before say they are now interested in his music and in going to see him in concert. They seem to think that not being able to play an instrument has improved his stage presence.
He tweeted this morning that he was going to the doctor to get his wrist checked out. Hopefully it is healing properly. In one of his recent interviews, Kris revelaed that he broke four bones and tore a bunch of ligaments in the wrist, and that the doctor told him that the wrist would never be 100% again. But Kris said he doesn't believe that and is going to do everything he can to get it back to 100%.

Kris Allen released a Christmas EP on iTunes today (Dec. 10). The track listing is: 1. O Holy Night 2. Holly Jolly Christmas 3. Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas 4. The Christmas Song 5. White Christmas This was recorded in Nashville. Just Kris & his (sometimes) lead guitarist Andrew DeRoberts. I think it's all really good. My favorites are White Christmas & O Holy Night, though. PS - Kris is heading out on tour again starting in early January. He's got a lot of shows lined up from January through April. If anyone's interested, you can find a list of dates on Kris' facebook page (under events) or on his booking agent's site here: www.flemingartists.com/artists/itineraries/ka-itin.html

Official Soundscan album sales put this at 169K sold for its 1st week -- #4 on Billboard chart.
Not bad at all.
It looks like Gone Gone Gone will be the 2nd single. He performed that on The Today Show yesterday (I think it was yesterday, haha). That is a smart choice, as it is similar in style to "Home" (which has now sold more than 2.5 million copies)
I wasn't a big fan of his on Idol...I thought everything he did sounded exactly the same. I do like "Home" a lot, though, and I think overall the album is a solid effort, although I do have a problem in that everything does start to sound too similar to me the farther I get into it.
As for him being the most legit Idol winner since David Cook? I disagree with that, as both Kris Allen and Scotty McCreery are very talented artists and certainly legit winners.

His new management seems to be doing a good job getting him some tour dates for the fall. He'll be on the road for much of October and into November, so that's hopefully a good sign. Also, Yahoo! has been posting performance videos the last 4 weeks, one a week, and this one that they posted yesterday, of Kris' cover of Titanium (mashed up with a bit of Every Breath You Take) is gorgeous. And the lyrics are very telling, given the fact that he's no longer with RCA. music.yahoo.com/blogs/reality-rocks/kris-allen-stays-strong-titanium-mashup-225121737.html

Considering Idols rarely get any play on Triple A radio (although Haley and Crystal got a little play with their debut singles), this is pretty impressive, even if Phillip didn't write it.
Its sales are now approx. 1.2 million

It sold another 161K this past week, putting its total sales at approx. 1.2 million

I haven't been tracking the UK stuff closely, but I read that most of the spins are coming from one station (Capital Radio). Is that true? Aren't any of the BBC Radio stations playing NCOE?

Suprised to be honest! I didn't expect it to go that high with no airplay, lol! It's at #123 overall and #46 POP Going to enter the top 100 soon! I'm not surprised -- pretty much anyone coming off a reality singing show gets their music up high on the iTunes charts when it is first released. Trouble got 12 CHR adds today, which is a good start for the song.

Why isn't "Rumour Has It" eligible to go recurrent this week? It has fallen out of the Top 10 now.

There's a banner ad for NCOE on All-Access. Seems to be targeting both HAC & CHR, while mentioning Bruno Mars & Dr. Luke's contributions to the song.

Was hoping it would move up the CHR chart faster, but itdoes seem to picking up a little steam, so that's good.

I love this song -- might be my favorite of all of Katy's singles. Hoping it will go #1.

Pleasant, but so-so song. Don't see it doing any better than Young Homie.

So Owl City has to depend on the CHR flavor of the day (Carly Rae Jepsen) in order to get a pop hit now?

RCA is so not done with Adam. Cuckoo is going to be a worldwide smash, the first two singles will be footnotes. Once he goes on tour, it's all going to come together. There's no guarantee that RCA will even release Cuckoo as a single. And whatever the 3rd single is, chances are it will get less of a promo push than the first 2 singles have received. And hasn't Adam said that he isn't going on tour until at least this fall, and maybe not until early 2013?

"Home" got 13 monitored adds this week -- 8 Top 40, 5 HAC. It only got 88 monitored CHR spins this past week, though, despite getting a bunch of adds. So it will be interesting to see if the Top 40 stations that added it decide to start playing it more than, say, once a day.
