Carrie had segments on enews and extra today. I saw the enews one and it was very sweet. I've heard the Extra one is also very good but it hasn't been on here yet. Just in case anyone wants to try to catch them.

Did you guys hear that Carrie sang "All my exes live in Texas" during Songs like This in Houston last night? :) I guess they do. Romo and Chase Crawford. lol It would be appropriate. After all, Romo would live in San Antonyio and Chase Crawford would live in, Crawford.

.

He's probably the biggest "1-hit wonder" to come off the show. His single "Gallery" was huge. thereafter he failed to put anything out that matched it's success again. He was really talented too, what a shame... In some news, "Mama's Song" is #1 on GAC's countdown this week!

Behind-The-Scenes video of Carrie's People: Country cover shoot. And, here's a review of last night's show: The show: Award-winning country music star and Season 4 “American Idol” winner Carrie Underwood brought her “Play On Tour” to the AT&T Center on Thursday night. Sons of Sylvia and Billy Currington opened.
Attendance: About 7,400
First take: A diva-worthy, high-tech entrance up through the floor made perfect sense for Underwood’s thunderous opener, “Cowboy Casanova.” “Tonight is all about having fun,” said Underwood, among country music’s most fashionable and pop-friendly stars. Twangy confections like “Quitter” gave way to powerful ballads such as “Wasted” and the beautiful “I Know You Won’t.” Costume changes came, too.
Damn the torpedoes, mandolins and fiddles: Opening acts Sons of Sylvia and Billy Currington brought a rowdy, backwoods guitar-driven roar to the proceedings. For example, Sons of Sylvia’s “Love Left to Lose” was youthful, pulsating rock ’n’ roll barely masquerading as country. And Currington’s scruffy “Love Done Gone” could have been the Box Tops or middle-period Kinks. His “People Are Crazy” (with its “God is great and beer is good” refrain) fired up the crowd to deafening levels. ^Thanks for posting that article. I was wondering how her concert was last night. I REALLY wanted to go.
Does anyone know what Billy Currington's set list is?

There are 2 Carrie Interviews on the page. Listen to the bottom one first as the top one (appears to be from today) sort of picks up on that last interview. www.kscs.com/sectional.asp?id=8553

^None. I want her to do more like she did on the first leg. She took out a song altogether when she removed the covers. They never replaced the cover song with a different song. They just did one less song. EDIT: Olympic Gold Medalist Nastia Liukin went to Carrie's Dallas Show last night! twitter.com/#!/NLiukin Tweet: NLiukin Nastia Liukin Carrie Underwood concert tonight with my best friend, Liz :)Nice review from The Hollywood Bowl concert from the Jackson Sun:www.jacksonsun.com/article/20101010/COLUMNISTS16/10100315Underwood, Beach Boys highlight week Dan Morris is The Jackson Sun's public service editor. He can be reached at 425-9756 or (800) 372-3922, ext. 259756 or by e-mail at dmorris@jackso • October 10, 2010 The first was Oct. 2 in Los Angeles. The second was Thursday in Jackson. And the exceptional element at both events was a rich performance by classical musicians who supported the headline acts. Near the end of our vacation in southern California last weekend, we attended a concert by country music superstar Carrie Underwood at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles. The Bowl is a natural amphitheater nestled in the Hollywood hills and within sight of the famous Hollywood sign. The band shell is at the bottom of the "bowl," and the audience seating expands up the hill in front of the shell. A sold-out crowd of 17,376 watched Underwood use her powerful voice to nail every note, sounding exactly the same as her recordings. The five-time Grammy winner was accompanied by the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra, and the results were sensational. It was her first appearance at the Bowl. "What an honor it is to stand on this stage," Underwood said near the start of her concert. "I have never had the honor of being here ever before in my life. I have only seen it on TV and in movies, so excuse me if I get a little emotional tonight. The wall of people in front of me is just spectacular. This is truly an unforgettable night. Thank you so much." Underwood received the loudest and longest standing ovation of her career after singing "Jesus, Take the Wheel" and closing the song with the chorus from the hymn "How Great Thou Art." It was truly a remarkable performance. We got a bonus when country star Randy Travis made a surprise appearance and joined Underwood for their hit duet "I Told You So." EDIT: Another Nice Review from Dallas Last Night! :)They used a different writer, so Dallas finally gave Carrie some love! Mario must have been out sick. lol www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/ent/stories/101110dngdunderwood.4885f6.htmlGotta hand it to Carrie Underwood : She and her tour engineers pulled off something downright amazing Saturday night at American Airlines Center. About two-thirds of the way through her 100-minute set, the country singer-songwriter rode out high above the audience standing in the bed of a bright blue pickup. Yes, a flying truck. Take that, Phantom of the Opera chandelier. Somehow, despite the inherent silliness of the whole idea, it not only worked, it was perfect. Such is the power of the Underwood charm. It appeared to be a nearly sold-out arena, and the crowd tossed wave after wave of adoration at Underwood, as well as at her opening acts, Sons of Sylvia and Billy Currington. Sons of Sylvia is a great country band, but not so great a heavy rock band. The trio of brothers veered all over the place stylistically; they need to settle into an identity. Billy Currington, on the other hand, is country through-and-through and has Toby Keith-like stardom potential, but without Keith's bombastic ego. As for Underwood, her stage presence has improved greatly since the last time I saw her in late 2008. She still seems uncomfortable with instruments (she played electric guitar on one song, acoustic on another, piano on a third). She should probably just stick to the vocals. But she's gotten much better at crowd interaction and physically reflecting the moods of the songs. Glamour and glitz were the order of the night; the sparkle factor, especially in the costume department, was off the charts. Someone clearly loves the Bedazzler. But underneath all that, you can still glimpse the girl from Checotah, Okla. Yeah, she's a superstar, but Underwood retains a refreshing naiveté. When she accidentally bonked her own face with the microphone, you could see the flush of embarrassment from 30 rows back. Highlights of the show included the rowdy "Last Name," "Before He Cheats" and "Cowboy Casanova" and the ballads "Jesus, Take the Wheel" (which segued nicely into a gorgeous "How Great Thou Art"), "So Small" and "Temporary Home." Underwood sounded unfortunately nasally during the first part of the show, at times skirting dangerously close to Minnie Mouse territory. But she seemed to relax into it – or else her sinus medication kicked in – about halfway through, and the vocals soared. She hits every note, nasally or not, and with her obvious focus on working the charisma, she's proving why she's been the most successful of the abundant American Idol crop.

As predicted, Carrie is nominated for 2 American Music Awards.
Favorite Country Female: Taylor Swift Miranda Lambert Carrie Underwood
Favorite Country Album: "Wide Open" - Jason Aldean "Need You Now" - Lady Antebellum "Play On" - Carrie Underwood
There should be no trouble winning either of them in my opinion ;)

Cool! I wouldn't underestimate Lady A though as they are pretty popular right now. But I hope Carrie can pull off at least one win this year. I wonder if she will perform or present? She has a 2 week break during that period. This HDD article mentions that the AMAS used a different chart to determine nominees this year. Not sure if it helped or hurt Carrie? Maybe it made no difference? Quote: www.hitsdailydouble.com/sales/salescht.cgiFor the first time, the nominees were selected from BigChampagne's Ultimate Chart rather than Billboard, ranking the most popular artists and songs based on a weighted combination of music sales, radio and TV broadcast, Internet streaming and video viewing, with additional online metrics, including social media activity.

Does anyone think there could be a special guest or two at the Nashville show tonight? I think it's very possible. :)

Chantal Kreviazuk on working with Carrie: "And it’s funny because (American Idol winner) Carrie Underwood comes in the room, and she’s stunning, she’s young, she’s a gazillionaire, she’s successful, she has no ego."
"She’s grateful, she’s grateful, grateful, and I am so honoured to sit with someone who has that kind of class."

Does anyone think there could be a special guest or two at the Nashville show tonight? I think it's very possible. :) Idol producers just shot Kelly Clarkson's feature in Nashville (surprising since the other winners' shoots have been in their hometowns) but anyway, the reason I brought it up is Kelly's in Nashville... Carrie's Nashville concert... they could do a thing if they wanted to. Carrie can actually do a few surprises if she wanted to. I see from twitter that there are quite a number of "possible special guests" in attendance-- Mandisa, Jessie James, Danny Gokey, etc. But then again, Kellie Pickler, Taylor Swift and Katharine McPhee were at her last Nashville show and she didn't concoct something with them. Surprises are awesome though! I literally squealed when Randy Travis and Orianthi came out at the Hollywood Bowl. Like a stuck pig!

Your still alive after that awesome concert Desi!
Yeah, it may not pan out to be anything special tonight but you never know. I'm not sure how they would have maybe fit in a rehearsal or two with Carrie touring. At least RT and Orianthi just did pretty much the same thing they did in the past so I'm sure they didn't need as much rehearsal time as if any of the surprise guest in the audience would need.
