Apparently, Carrie told the crowd this tonight so far: jordantheboy: "Any town that can be known as The City Of Roses as well as BeerTown is pretty cool with me." -Carrie Underwood

new things might start to appear in the next few shows. the first one may just be a chance for her and the band to get back into the flow of things

I really want so like Ashley but I feel he's not a strong enough singer to sing this duet with her. Maybe because it was the first show but idk, I hope it gets better cuz I like Sons of Sylvia.

Thank you for posting a link to 'Wasted', Typo. Besides being my favourite song by Carrie ever, last night's flawless, incredible performance of 'Wasted' on such a big stage my be one of my favourites ever. I had to repost it with the video embedded to make it even easier for others to enjoy. I can't wait to see her again in just over 6 weeks :

^^Oh My gosh!!!! For real?!!! I NEED new Carrie music...Unfortunately whenever anyone says "soon" when pertaining to Carrie's material that usually means a few months or so... Either way, I'm very excited. I love those song titles too!

Not a fan of the new outfit but I love every performance of this song she's done. ♥ She always sounds great on it and makes the camera's microphone mess up everytime You can see the outfit up-close here. So ready. I can't reiterate enough how much I love these titles. I'd imagine you'd love See You Again

So ready. I can't reiterate enough how much I love these titles. wow! so this means we get to hear at least one of these songs before her new album comes out, right? Carrie did say one of the songs was for something special, and the others might be for album 4. So I wonder which song we get to hear "soon?" And how soon is "soon"? lol

Is she re-releasing? Or is this for a new album? One of the three ("Distant Lullaby", "See You Again", "A Place For Us") is for an upcoming project. I'm guessin' it'll have something do with Soul Surfer. But, IDK. The remaining two are potential co-writes for the next album.

Ohh ok that makes sense. I was about to say, it's a bit early for a new album I think as there's still potential left with Play On IMO. But I guess she'll be due for one next year.

^ Vinman do you think Carrie will still play instruments at the Hollywood bowl considering that there is a full orchestra? I am not sure how that works with other artists as I have never been there. Thanx!

I don't doubt she'll have her regular band. The orchestra may be for a couple of particular songs. Kill me now if she sings THE SOUND OF MUSIC! ^ Vinman do you think Carrie will still play instruments at the Hollywood bowl considering that there is a full orchestra? I'm hoping for some Hollywood Bowl videos, too. Usually there's at least one person out there who manages to get around strict camera policies. ;)
Not a fan of the CC/UI adlib in SLT. White Liar and Single Ladies seemed to fit a lot better, but maybe this will just take some getting used to.

So apparerently the Mama's Song video is up on itunes, but her team didn't advertise it at all, not even in the country section. Therefore, if you want to buy it, you have to search for it really hard as it is a "secret" video. lol I wonder why her team does not advertise on itunes more when her videos come out? It is such a wasted opportunity as you have to spend money to make money. Perhaps they are cutting costs since album sales are dropping off a bit lately? Still, they made a ton of money on ticket sales. EDIT: Nice Review from San Jose last night www.mercurynews.com/rss/ci_16193600?source=rss&nclick_check=1Review: Carrie Underwood brings thrilling `Play On Tour' to San Jose By Jim Harrington Oakland Tribune Posted: 09/28/2010 01:39:14 AM PDT Carrie Underwood performs at the HP Pavilion in San Jose, Calif. on Monday, Sept.... ( Dan Honda ) More musical mediocrity has been spawned by TV's "American Idol" than from any other single entity in history. The biggest exception continues to be Carrie Underwood, the 2005 "A.I." champ that has totaled 10 No. 1 country singles, three platinum-plus-selling albums and numerous music awards during her relatively short career. Her one weakness has traditionally been her live show, but now that has become a strength as well. The 27-year-old Oklahoman's show on Monday night at the HP Pavilion in San Jose, part of her ongoing "Play On Tour," was a far cry better than what fans witnessed during the star's last swing through town. That previous show, an Oakland date on 2008's "Carnival Ride Tour," featured Zero One Festival in San Joseplenty of weak moments in its set list, some questionable theatrics (including perhaps the most nauseatingly self-absorbed video montage ever produced) and a star that had a tough time handling up-tempo numbers in convincing fashion. Those things, for the most part, have now been fixed. That's not to say there isn't room for improvement. Underwood still comes across a bit awkward onstage when she's not singing, leaning on the obvious during her between-song banter -- for example, introducing "All-American Girl" by asking, "Any all-American girls in the audience?" Plus, and I can't believe I'm writing this, it would be nice if she included a few more Mariah-style vocal acrobatics in the set. The one time she really let it fly high, and milked a note for all it was worth on "I Know You Won't," was the definitive highlight of the San Jose show. The concert was organized in four loosely theatrical, vaguely thematic acts, the first of which mixed razzle-dazzle old-school showbiz imagery and "Carnival Ride" (the name of Underwood's 2007 album) scenes. As her eight-piece band struck up the rowdy "Cowboy Casanova," the lead single from 2009's "Play On," Underwood made her entrance on a red velvet couch, lifted through the stage floor by hydraulics. She looked stunning in a fitted black tuxedo dotted with sequins, an image enhanced by the use of a microphone stand shaped like a walking cane. It was an opening statement worthy of Madonna. She'd follow with "Quitter," "Wasted," "I Know You Won't" and "Some Hearts," with only the last number failing to clear the bar set high by "Cowboy Casanova," before entering into Act 2 with "Just a Dream," the "Carnival Ride" track that was nominated for the 2010 Grammy Award for Best Female Country Vocal Performance. This segment might be properly described as a homage to country living, as the large overhead video screens showed a softly babbling creek, a quaint farmhouse and other rustic images. Underwood wore a poofy country dress at the start, and even swung on a swing, but it wasn't enough to compensate for the weakest collection of songs (including the overwrought pair, "Temporary Home" and "Someday When I Stop Loving You") featured in any of the four acts. The third act was much more fun. It basically occurred in the back of a blue pickup truck, which was hoisted by cables above fans' heads and flown about the arena. Underwood belted John Denver's "Take Me Home, Country Roads" from the truck bed, as fans cheered the audacity of the moment. When it finally parked back onstage, the singer would hit the crowd with two of her best numbers: the rocking "Undo It" and the sweet "Jesus Take the Wheel." The final act was staged to look like Underwood was performing at the Grand Ole Opry -- a fitting motif, since the singer was inducted to the Opry in 2008 as it youngest member. She'd close her 100-minute main set with the great "Last Name," the best tequila-inspired ode to a lost evening that country has produced in many a moon, and then return for an encore of the equally fine "Before He Cheats" and the so-so "Songs Like This."
