That medley was killer. She's really stepped up her 'Undo It' performances.

That medley was killer. She's really stepped up her 'Undo It' performances. Hell yeah, she sounded great. She definitely showed that she is one of the best vocalists out of all them, and writer, considering she had a hand in writing all three of the songs she performed. Adele and Darius sounded great too. Maroon 5 was just awkward... Jason rocked. Kevin also did great with keeping it classy.

Acceptance speech (working on it) Medley Performance (uploading) Audience shots of Carrie (to come) I think Carrie's got ACE's humble puppy eyes beat.

Thanks for the links, lyrichord, since I missed the original broadcast !
I think she did not sound good (for her standard) during the medley. IMO, her vocals went the wrong direction during the five minutes. She sounded pretty darn good during 'Casanova'- one of her best, but during 'Home' her head voice kept giving out on her, was breathless, and had a few sharp notes. I thought 'Undo It' was the worst, since she sounded pretty sharp and breathless during most of the song, especially the second verse and final chorus, where she was seemed just out of breath and somewhat behind the music.
I'm kinda bummed that this was her televised performance for such a big honour...

^ Considering she canceled a show the night before due to illness, unfortunately there wasn't much she could do about it.

^ Considering she canceled a show the night before due to illness, unfortunately there wasn't much she could do about it. Oh, I didn't realize she was sick for the show. That explains why she sounded off. That being said, even while sick, she still sounds better than 90+ % of most mainstream vocalists today, lol.

I thought her performance of UI was one of her best?? Sure, a little breathless, but she's able to work the stage and sing almost 100% perfect. I don't think she hit any sharp and/or flat notes through the entire medley - she's quite good at that ;) Singing like her is something most artists can't do, as Randy Travis pointed out multiple times. I would definitely rank this among one of her top live TV performances in a while. Her speech was also humble and sweet, and it was obvious that Randy meant every word he said. Every other presenter took no more than 2 minutes, Randy took at least 4-5, or so it seemed. There is just so much to say about Carrie Really though, it was a great night for all the artists, and everyone except one acknowledged the other four and that was very nice. It's always great to see them acknowledge each other, they all have something to do with each other's success in one way or another so it's nice to see them talking about each other as if they're on a team. All the live performances were great, the two best being Carrie's medley and Darius/Adele. Kevin was a great host, he kept it classy with a touch of both sentiment and humor. It was refreshing to sit back and enjoy an "award show" rather than root for any individuals, they're all winners, and deserved every minute of it! If this was a success, which I'm sure it was, I'd go ahead and predict that most of these same people will be honored again next year, but I think one or two might change???... Miranda, Rascal Flatts, Blake, Brad, Kenny??? I'd like to see them possibly honor more than just five as well... We'll see, but it was a great show, kudos to CMT for creating this idea and making it into an entertaining tribute to this year's greatest Country music artists.

My only "issue" with her medley was that I think that she should have put "Undo It" and "Cowboy Casanova" together, and leave "Temporary Home" out altogether. Having "Temporary Home" in the middle kind of threw off the groove that was going on.
Naturally, her vocals were on point. Her speech was very sweet too.

Love Carrie's speech and what Randy and Smokey Robinson had to say about her. :'(
The medley was great. That was actually one of my fave performances of CC. CC and TH were better than UI since she seemed to be losing her breath a bit towards the end. But considering she was sick, it was amazing.

I really didn't think she sounded that great to be honest. Thought the performance as a whole didn't work like it should have. "Temporary Home" between "Cowboy Casanova" and "Undo It" was extremely awkward.
That clip of Taylor jamming during "Undo It" was cute.

I thought she was great. Must have been a special night for all those honored. To have Randy Travis present her with the award and Smokey Robinson introduce her performance was quite amazing. I enjoyed the show very much. I love Kevin Costner and thought he did an ok job hosting.

I thought this award was taped, so this has no connection with the sickness the day before right?
Carrie was good c'mon. Haha i love her awkward body language when she jams along with her song. It's so unique of her having those moves, since Some Hearts.

I have to say I loved the medley. I don't think the transitions were awkward... And I thought she sounded great.
My favorite part of the whole show though was hearing Randy and Smokey praising Carrie's voice saying it was "her gift from God" and you could just tell when Randy was speaking to her she was holding back tears.
I loved the show so much and I hope they continue to do this every year.

Both Rand and Smokey (even Ryan and Kevin) speeches were by far the best ones... they praised Carrie's talent and much more better than any of the other artists did for the other AOTY winners... she's really lucky to have such great respected people by her side!!
And of all winners, I have to say, Carrie gave the best speech as well, followed closely by Lady A.!! =)
