What's interesting is that my local station was championing this band (and this song specifically) a month or two before "Pardon Me" ever went for adds. I don't think it was ever officially added to the playlist or anything, just something they played every once in a while for some reason. I never understood why. The band really doesn't fit in with the whole Active-leaning Alternative agenda they've got. They've got such a bluesy, throwback sound they'd sound more at home on the (Classic) Rock station.

So they go from covering Incubus to covering Crystal Waters?

Reminds me of The Guess Who, Lenny Kravitz, and Jet combined. With an organ.
I like it. :)

I finally decided to listen to this and "Pardon Me". I don't tend to like southern rock, especially southern rock revivalists (the only recent exception coming to mind being Black Stone Cherry and I guess Hurt has occasional southern tendencies but those are more in the bluegrass direction). So I was expecting to dislike these guys.
I have to say, while I don't love it, I really respect this and like it a lot more than almost anything in the genre. They just seem way more authentic and their funk flourishes seem to give progress to the genre rather than a mere imitation. Also, it's not cock rock which is nice. His voice is really strong, and the band has a legitimate groove.
