I wonder what direction this project will take and if it will receive better reception.

I wonder what direction this project will take and if it will receive better reception. Late 70s/Early 80s soul and funk is the template for this album. And that's fine by me, since it's my favorite type of music. Speaking of fine, he's coming to Philly next month. I can't wait to see him!

DNW that creepy mustache and oversized suit. Guy is good looking but he needs a better stylist.

Death at this 70's porn director meets Boyz II Men circa 1992 styling And yeah, def. uncomfortable...anything that is reminiscent of porniness that is then put in context with kids is going to feel icky.

I like the video, too.
They need to release this to iTunes already. I'm patiently waiting...

It seems like they're not even pushing "Happiness" outside of Australia.

I the only one who thinks he is starting to look a bit like Freddie Mercury? No, when Sam first started rocking the mustache it reminded me of Freddie Mercury too a bit.

"Wish I Never Met You" is the lead single in the UK. It's being released on 4 June here too. The Devil's Gun remix is nice - I have a feeling I'm going to like the album version more than "Happiness".

Apparently, he doesn't want to sing anymore and plans for his albums from here on out to be David Guetta style.

Apparently, he doesn't want to sing anymore and plans for his albums from here on out to be David Guetta style. Huh? I thought that was Calvin Harris. Sam Sparro announces two UK dates – Birmingham info & ticketsSam Sparro will release his sophomore album, ‘Return To Paradise’, via Virgin records on June 11 and also just confirmed are two very special UK shows in Birmingham and Manchester to celebrate the release. Part soul crooner, part pop star with an ever-morphing, chameleon-like quality, Sam coasts a fine line between disarmingly earnest and a chic, credible cool. He has become known not only for his distinct, scale-defying vocals and epic live shows, but also as a visual artist and style icon. Signed to EMI Australia in December 2011 Sam has spent the last couple of years working on the follow up to 2008’s eponymous debut release. With a Platinum single (‘Black & Gold’), a Gold album, a Grammy nomination and 5 Arias under his belt, Sam has also been busy collaborating with the likes of Mark Ronson and Basement Jaxx as well as writing for other artists such as Natasha Beddingfield. His fans include Katy Perry, Beyonce, Cee-Lo Green and Adele who covered ‘Black & Gold’ in the Radio 1 Live Lounge. Sam’s new album, ‘Return To Paradise’, is a play on nostalgia and “paradise garage” – a genre derived from the hedonistic discotheque scene in New York in the late 70s that began in a parking lot giving rise to the term “garage” famous for its unique and eclectic style of disco and dance music. It has been co-produced with long time collaborator Jesse Rogg. See below for both tour dates. June 14 // BIRMINGHAM, O2 ACADEMY 2 16 // Manchester, Deaf Institute Tickets are £10 adv. and are on sale now via gigsandtours.com. counteract-magazine.com/2012/05/09/sam-sparro-announces-two-uk-dates-birmingham-info-tickets/

I love this album. It's much more solid than his debut album. My only complaint is that a few of the songs don't really fit the late 70s/early 80s sound of the rest of the album and sound like they could have been on his debut.

I streamed the album during the wee hours of the morning and it's indeed very good. I don't remember the stand outs on first listen, but Sam's vocals were off the chain this time. I cannot wait to purchase it.

"We Could Fly" is giving me so much life right now. He really outdid himself with that one. The album is a really solid effort all around for me.

I already bought an imported copy of the album awhile ago. Anyways, still irks me this was never put on the album in general or even as a bonus track:
