Not to bring up a discussion that might not belong here (more so on the WDKY thread), but I listened to the X Factor performance again and I still think she should sing the whole chorus. Maybe she doesn't need to sing "what doesn't kill you makes you", but she should still sing the majority of the chorus, not just "stronger" / "taller" / "lonely" etc. I was incredibly surprised how well the electronic elements of the song translated, in comparison to the unfortunate Troubadour performance. I honestly was very pleased with it as a whole. As for the iTunes Sessions, I wouldn't get my hopes up now that I've really considered it. She'll probably do the songs she's comfortable with and when she says "old", they're probably Breakaway/My December old. And I guarantee you "Walk Away" will find its way on there Psyched for more Kelly material, though. Anything will do!

November 28, 2011; Written by Alison Bonaguro I knew I'd love VH1's Unplugged: Kelly Clarkson because, really, who doesn't love Kelly Clarkson? And to hear her sing one of my very favorite Carrie Underwood songs? Clarkson's version of "I Know You Won't" is so powerful for so many reasons. One, she can belt out a song in such a sexy, bluesy way. Two, this 2007 song was outstanding. It was never released as a single, yet if it had been, it would have surely been a massive hit. It is depressing, but in a good way because she is finally admitting to herself that he is a bastard and will never change. And seriously, if there is a better line in Underwood's music than "I know you don't mean to be mean to me," I have not heard it. And three, I love the cello. It's not very often you get to hear strings like that on a song like this, which just adds to the drama of it all. Now if I could just get Clarkson and Underwood to duet, I could die happy. www.cmt.com/news/cmt-offstage/1674965/offstage-kelly-clarkson-sings-carrie-underwood.jhtml

"Kelly Clarkskin" LMAO!
The whole "preach" thing made me die a little bit inside. When she holds up she shoe. I died so much. It was beyond hysterical. That lady has so much sass, she rivals Kelly. Man that was hilarious.

Courtesy Rackster at the Express.. Kelly Clarkson Chooses the 'Tracks of my Years' all this week on BBC Radio 2. 'Ken Bruce starts the week with the first of Kelly Clarkson's Tracks Of My Years, beginning with music from Adele and an unlikely duet between U2 and Pavarotti'. Short and sweet smiley: smile. She's just been on. She'll be on again the same time tomorrow. If you've missed it you can listen again here, when its up on the site. KC and the music she picked is on at about 2 hours and 10 mins in. Nov. 28 www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b006wr34Just Kelly talking about the music, Day 1 Nov. 28... Day 2 Nov. 29... This is what's coming up today: 'Singer-songwriter Kelly Clarkson chooses another two Tracks Of My Years which today features songs by Annie Lennox and Journey. Kelly famously won the first series of the hit US talent show American Idol.' www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b017kc8gKelly's segment starts at 2hr. 13 minutes in.

Im dying to find out how they do the video...I love the videos on youtube of people! It's too late to release WDKY now. They had their chance. Overall sales have been very disappointing this era. However I guess you need to look across the board and Daughtry isn't looking too flash either. Highlights the importance of a hit LEAD single to increase opening album sales. Artists like Kelly & Daughtry will only ever have their biggest weeks in the first three week period. Sure you can say All I Ever Wanted died quickly, but it's hit lead single led to 500,000 copies sold very quickly. Had RCA moved faster, the album probably would of sold well in excess of one million. They need to nail lead single /era opportunities and then seek for longevity. I don't think RCA have done either that well through their release decisions. WDKY (lead) could of been followed through a number of long term decisions or at least been released prior to the album drop. I think RCA is too slow to move in today's dynamic marketplace.

Week 1 169,806 Week 2 50,523 Week 3 31108 Week 4 42,554 Total 293,991
I was getting worried about the sales until I saw Rihanna's opening with 197,040. Rihanna is such a big star compared to KC and her sales aren't much higher at all.

This is holding very well on iTunes. The standard version is #5 on the Pop Albums chart and the deluxe version is #10.
We shouldn't see that much of a sales drop next week due to the Cyber Monday deals on Amazon.

Also generally her albums open with 200K then hit well beyond platinum with four or five quickly released multi-platinum singles. Kelly's release strategy appears to target album sales as opposed to multiple performing singles.

For example Amazon $4.99 & Itunes $6.99 - are they losing profit or did RCA drop it's wholesale price for that period?

LOVE the 59% increase in sales, very nice. And for the first time I'm loving the opportunity to use the ignore option. eta: has the board been acting strange, for everyone, about posting the last couple of days? ALMOST every time I try to post it get this message, even though it does turn out that the message did get posted... This page took too long to generate and has been stopped. By lowering the price RCA is losing extra profits but they're not losing anything else by lowering the price, if that makes sense. They're probably actually gaining in a way because more people are buying the album than those who would have bought it only at the "usual" price.

^^^
If 20,000 copies were sold at 10.99 ($219,800) if 50,000 copies were sold at 6.99 ($349,000)....so by lowering more people buy it...If the album sold 20,000 copies and was lowered then they would be at a loss profit....
Make sense LOL?

So WDKY has been released in Australia, will be released in the UK soon, but still no word on the United States release? I thought for sure the single would be released to go with the commercial, but I guess I'm wrong.

Ok, correct me if I'm wrong but the decision to lower the price is totally Itunes' and Amazon's. RCA doesn't lose anything because of what they're doing. At least that's what people said when Amazon sold Lady Gaga's album for 0.99.

Interscope had nothing to do with that promotion.

The fact that this album has already sold 300k off of one 'lackluster' single (even though it is the holidays) is pretty impressive. I think the album will probably go at least platinum.
