Breakaway turns seven today!
kelly🌷💞_clarkson just did an impromptu song at the bar and killed it. After a few drinks and she still rocked the house. Bitch. #youtube - ashes2lashes

we shouldnt really compare the albums sales to AIEW....since they were both released at 2 seperate quarters....I mean Nov-Dec are best months...where as those sales cant be compared to March-April.....
I hope this album keeps the legs...selling what AIEW sold in total would I suppose make me happy but again...it had everything going for it in the beginning (promo/4th quarter) so part of me will be dissapointed
Again its only early tho

^ I think it's okay to compare. That's what we call benchmarking.
The era has been great so far in terms of promo only. She's done a lot of high profile appearances. The disappointment for me is that they haven't really released a smash hit and relied on MKIA, an okay song that will undeniably be forgotten, to carry the album during the highest selling quarter. One can only imagine how a MLWSWY kinda smash would have benefited the era. I still fail to understand why WDKY hasn't been released.

^Agreed, especially because, like AIEW, there seem to be a plethora of smashes on the album. They could have released WDKY, followed by any of the following: LMD, DS, IFY, or TWIO and none of those would have been a "let down" compared to the lead.
But that's OK. Let's hope WDKY picks up steam quickly, or the upcoming promo slots help sustain her sales.

I know Im weird..But I really enjoy the first single...I don't know why But I loved that it was released first...but wdky or Let me down would of been good too...I donno the only thing im sad about so far is the first week sales tbh..if it sold 200-250 i would of been satisfied.Oh well...A year from now who knows where this album will be!

Well, love it or hate it, but MKIA has a new peak on pop radio today. It's up to #11.

Ok, this doesn't exactly have to do with the era she's in now but I was surfing Youtube and came across a video of a Kelly concert from years ago where she fired her guitarist right on the stage... My question is, what did he do and why? I couldn't find any information about it... I gathered from comments below the video that he flipped the crowd off??? That makes no sense. Someone please explain, thanks!

Why didn't they upload Stronger and You Love Me? YLM needs to be a single!

Hey, does anyone have a good list of Kelly leaks I should have? I know it's a little off-topic, I just didn't know where to post this.
So far, I have "I Can't Lose", "So Far Apart", "Baby Blue Eyes", "Don't Ever Give Up On Me", "Empty Handed", "Close Your Eyes", "What Happened Here?" and "I Remember". Are there any other must-haves?
And while I'm thinking about it, all of these would've been great for Stronger, even if they were recorded years ago. They all have that kind of soulful feel that might sound really cool. I'd LOVE for "Baby Blue Eyes" to be on the next album, kind of playing the part of "Why Don't You Try"-- although I read an interview that said it came from 2002, so that will probably never happen.

"Bleed For Me" is her best leak imo.
"Ready to Go" is interesting. The "Ready" demo is better than the album version. You Can't Win is also better than the album cut. As for other songs make sure you have "Not Today" from My December & "The Day We Fell Apart" from All I Ever Wanted.
Finally SHIT AND FAME. You need to listen to the worst song of Kelly's career :)

I think I remember Kelly saying that this guy was causing problems for awhile during the tour and this was just the last straw for her.

Thank you all for your suggestions! I LOVE "Wash, Rinse, Repeat" so much. It could NEVER be on an album, but I love it just because its SO Kelly. What an "f you" to Ryan Tedder. God.

Thankful: What Happened Here Breakaway: Get Away (v2 has the guitar lick that was taken out of WA) Slamming Doors Bleed For Me Golden Child Don't Love In These Eyes Recorded 05-06, not specifically album related, just recordings: After The Love (was on hold for Faith Hill at one point) Empty Handed Drowning 3 A.M. (Go's original demo) Go (went to Ford) My December: Too Much Where Are You Now Racehorse Did You (Demo) Far From Home (preshow) Scrapped country album: I Remember Whoever Did That Wasn't Me Mrs. Right All I Ever Wanted: One Day Ready With a Little Bit Of Luck Close Your Eyes Presumed for the 5th album: Breaking Your Own Heart Dance Darkside Don’t Be A Girl About It (2010) Don’t Be A Girl About It (2011) Don’t Ever Give Up On Me Dumb + Dumb = You I Can’t Lose I Forgive You I Wish I Could Be Lonely Instead Just The Way You Are Let Me Down w/ added intro Let Me Down Lost Lover Stay Naked Eye Promise Ready To Go s**t and Fame So Far Apart Standing In Front Of You Turn It Up, Turn Me On Wash, Rinse, Repeat Wasting Kisses What Doesn’t Kill You Who’s That Girl You Can’t Win You Need To Shut Your Pretty Face Misc, post AIEW: Call Me (Written for Reba) Cleopatra (written for another artist) Tell Me A Lie (I don't think this was intended for the 5th album, possibly in the same boat as Drowning/Empty Handed)

YAYYY CONGRATS KELLY and Jason!!! So proud of her. :'( Can anyone guess what their chances of winning are? There are four nominees, so 25%. Seriously, though, it's won several country awards already, so I wouldn't be surprised if it got the win. I'm not up on GRAMMY history, though, so I can't say with much conviction.

SO HAPPY for the Grammy nomination! I think they have a great shot at winning. I seriously can not believe Gaga got some big awards. The hype paid off I guess. The album was not one of the best of the year, not by a long shot. Not that it matters, no one is touching Adele in any category she is nominated in. Katy Perry getting more big nominations? Seriously? Her music is the type usually completely ignored but she got an AOTY nomination last year and a Pop Vocal this year when it is harder than ever to get those? Glad to see Pink get nominated, though.

Congrats to Kelly on the nomination! If she has a successful era, who knows for next year. I mean, now Teenage Dream and Loud have both been nominated for AOTY, and Stronger is easily superior to both of those.

I'm not just saying that because I'm some biased stan either.. but everyone has their own opinions, and that's life :)
