After thinking about it, I'm not mad/upset about LMD being leaked and not released anymore. I agree it may not be the best lead single, and the more I listen to the I Forgive You clip, the more I think it could work as a huge summer smash. I just hope RCA or whoever in charge could release it soon enough before something bad happens again *touch wood*.

So obviously if LMD was for sure the 1st single we would've surely heard something by now. On that note, I wouldn't mind seeing the 1st single being I Forgive You. It's got that Teenage Dream feel to it, based off the lyrics. And I was SOOOOOOOOO ready to jam to LMD, but at least I can blast it on my radio til the real 1st single comes out next month. Of course unless RCA decides to push it back to September, which wouldn't be surprising at all, since we've been anticipating this damn single since late last summer.

This whole Let Me Down thing has cemented what I've been thinking for a while.
This whole Pulse 'Anti-Kelly' Yin to the 'Pro-Kelly' Yang would have us believe she's a has been, someone who's been on a downward spiral, a flop-heavy frump that nobody cares about anymore. Yet, she's still very obviously incredibly well-liked the all throughout the country. She's just had a number one single (soon to have a multi-format top ten with the same song), radio stations jumped on the leak with gusto despite the fact it's clearly not ever been the new single to anybody in the know. Any time she appears at a concert to provide guest vocals, whether it's with Reba or Jason or Daughtry, the place doesn't just get a little excited, but it goes berserk. Her status as one of America's sweethearts and the original and foremost American Idol has never wavered, throughout career changes and failures.
DJ's, press and fellow artists clearly adore and respect her, often citing her as not only one of the nicest celebrities they've ever met, but amongst the most vocally talented. How many times have you heard artists or producers who've worked with her say she has one of the best voices they've ever heard? I just like to remember all this, when reading a lot of the Pulse rhetoric (the "she's over", "she's overrated, "only people around here think she's that talented") cause it's easy to forget. It's nice to remember the good-will and loyalty surrounding her, even when sometimes being a fan of her can be a frustrating process.

I don't think RCA is going to let a premature leak completely dictate their schedule when it is so close. They recently moved everything back by a month and that may have been strategic to give Kelly the best possible promotional spots. If it was, rush releasing a single because of the hype from LMD would completely ruin all of that. They have to stick to their game plan. Their no comment approach says one thing and one thing only to me, that LMD is clearly NOT the lead single and probably never was planned as any single for the era. They will let the hype build and people will only jump on her single that much more when it does come.

So, are radio stations still playing Let Me Down? Is it increasing in spins?

yes of course, pulse is just another forum for super fans who either support an artist or those who feel threatened by one and tear them down directly or indirectly. It doesn't reflect the world outside. As far as Kelly is concerned regardless of what anyone says, she has cemented herself as an artist who people know about and respect in general based primarily on singing talent.

the more I listen to the I Forgive You clip, the more I think it could work as a huge summer smash. Is that the 8-second clip? It's hard to judge anything from a clip that short.

You are so correct with your assessment of just how immersed we fan get with the day to day details, frustrations, etc. Conversely, those folks who are consistently ragging on Kelly for her appearance, sales, etc. have their own agenda. Your post is very well-written and made me step back and understand just how important Kelly is to radio and music in general as well as the high regard given to her by her industry peers. ETA: 'Don't You Wanna Stay' continues it's ascent up the iTunes all-genre sales chart since it's nadir in the 80s about 2 weeks ago, now up to #53 in this time period alone, likely due to it's rising non-country airplay. It is now #10 on AC and #11 on Hot AC radio and should break top 10 there in one week. Given it's rise and consistency in radio airplay and sales from non-country consumers, this song could break 2 million copies by years' end as it is selling ~ 30k/week and recently rising. Sales to date according to Billboard are 1.422 million copies.

@musicreview212 MusicReview212 The leaked version of Kelly Clarkson song 'Let Me Down' is NOT the final version. If indeed this is true.. Then the final version is gonna blow us away more than this version did. <3

I really wouldn't expect the final version to be that different. The vocals will probably be a bit clearer, but that's it.

I know this has been mentioned, but I think they may have sent out a promo cd. People keep talking about the same songs and those are the only ones that are leaking.

This era is done for. There are 3 more songs left that I am sure will leak with in the hour like everything else is Well whoever gave the songs out to anyone in the first place had to know they'd leak at some point. What a stupid idea. Why is it that Kelly's ppl/label seem to be the main ones that do this. As for the songs, Dumb + Dumb is actually my favorite. I'm loving it.

Ugh, I've been searching for them for about 2 hours and haven't found them, I suck at this
And yeah, RCA should have expected this... they send out promo CDs, then delay the album and they expect the tracks not to leak? Idiots

WDKY is cute. Not amazing though. I prefer IFY, LMD, and TMAL. The production on WDKY is great.

No. WDKY and IFY are amazing, total anthems. I love the changes she made to WDKY, I agree that it'll be a huge dancefloor anthem in the future. Even D+D is somewhat passable, even with those horrid lyrics. If this doesn't persuade RCA to move things up, then I don't know what will. In the meantime, I'll be enjoying these songs.
