I haven't had the chance or time to find all the demos let alone listen to them. I just think the comments about them are funny. What if none of those songs is on the album? If they were on a promo CD sent out awhile back, the producers might just have been testing reaction to help them decide what should be on the album. Maybe none of these made it. None of us knows. So ranking them and saying which should or shouldn't be a single is fun, but kind of pointless. But keep going folks, because it's fun to read all your posts.

Whoa, things got crazy while I was away from here for a couple days. Let Me Down is fair enough game since it's gotten a little radio airplay, but otherwise I'm avoiding the latest batch of leaks. This whole situation is just horrendous and can only end badly, just as the album leaking three weeks early did last time. I bet there are still people at RCA who are surprised that month on month of delays in releasing the music leads to it leaking in advance. Here was LMD's position as of Saturday: ---- 161 KELLY CLARKSON Let Me Down 15 0 15 0.036 Which is not exactly a huge chart footprint, but there are definitely a handful of stations spinning it. No, it's around 60 new songs including the preshows. Not an exaggeration at all. :) I believe if you include the preshows and past songs that were leaked or only done live, there are now more unreleased Kelly songs out there than there are songs on her first four albums. ^^ I read on KCE a few days back that some folks had 'Let Me Down' in full HQ since April 2011; however, I can not attest to the credibility of the poster at KCE who made that statement..... That's an assumption based on the fact that the guy was playing tidbits of it that far back, IIRC. This whole Let Me Down thing has cemented what I've been thinking for a while. This whole Pulse 'Anti-Kelly' Yin to the 'Pro-Kelly' Yang would have us believe she's a has been, someone who's been on a downward spiral, a flop-heavy frump that nobody cares about anymore. Yet, she's still very obviously incredibly well-liked the all throughout the country. She's just had a number one single (soon to have a multi-format top ten with the same song), radio stations jumped on the leak with gusto despite the fact it's clearly not ever been the new single to anybody in the know. Any time she appears at a concert to provide guest vocals, whether it's with Reba or Jason or Daughtry, the place doesn't just get a little excited, but it goes berserk. Her status as one of America's sweethearts and the original and foremost American Idol has never wavered, throughout career changes and failures. DJ's, press and fellow artists clearly adore and respect her, often citing her as not only one of the nicest celebrities they've ever met, but amongst the most vocally talented. How many times have you heard artists or producers who've worked with her say she has one of the best voices they've ever heard? I just like to remember all this, when reading a lot of the Pulse rhetoric (the "she's over", "she's overrated, "only people around here think she's that talented") cause it's easy to forget. It's nice to remember the good-will and loyalty surrounding her, even when sometimes being a fan of her can be a frustrating process. This.

I'm still not listening, but judging from comments it sounds like I Forgive You and What Doesn't Kill You should be the first two singles with IFY being the first. Ugh, that would suck. I don't hate the songs, but I would hate them being the lead singles. What Doesn't Kill You is already really overrated IMO. I just don't like the song that much. But dancelly is about my least favorite "elly" there is. Pop/Rock, Rock, Country, even R&B are all better for her imo.

All this "epic first single talk" seems a little...odd to me. I think the fact that we're getting these unofficially and in an unfinished form is making people scrutinize them rather unfairly. What would we have said about the MLWSWY demo if we had got them the same way we did LMD and D+D, with LQ clips and then HQ and then lyrics (and MLWSWY's lyrics are without question nothing special, at best). And it was an undeniable smash. None of these songs are the typical Dr. Luke/dance sound that's popular lately, but if you go back in this thread about 100 pages, that's what everyone was wanting her to avoid, anyway.
I think they could send LMD or TMAL or YCW and be in great shape.

I think they could send LMD or TMAL or YCW and be in great shape. Just going by what others are saying, but it seems that most agree that LMD is more fourth or fifth single material rather than first single. I don't believe many fans have heard the final versions of TMAL or YCW so it's hard to say. I'm hoping she gets five singles this era so the first two will be very important in determining whether there is a third, fourth, and fifth single. I hope RCA makes the right decisions regardless of what it is.

I should add that it is really reassuring to hear that kind of feedback on the record from a program director about how Kelly is viewed from a radio standpoint.

Also want to thank you for posting this: "Gossip sites and blogs have been abuzz for a few days about reports of new Kelly Clarkson songs leaking online. But if radio's playing a song, it's not really a leak." That's what I've believed. I don't think these are leaks in the sense of being stolen material. If those who've said a promo CD was circulated by RCA some time ago are right, then by definition they are not leaks. Why people are only releasing the material publicly now, I can't speculate.

Regardless of what you call them, most of the tracks have been circulating since April. I'm assuming RCA knew they were out there and cut them from the album (or at least some of them). Hopefully that theory holds some weight, and we don't suffer anymore pushbacks.

All last night and today I have WDKY stuck in my head. It even interrupted my sleep. lol It better be on the album, who cares if we heard it early. That's how I feel about LMD. I need a final CD quality version. The one that leaked is only 128 kbps. The other leaks are 192. [/quality snob] I don't think these songs should be dropped just because of the leaks. So what? 1 month or 3 months in advance, an album is going to leak, period. And most of the time that doesn't affect sales that much. Adele's entire album was online for more than a month before the US release. Bey's was what, 3 weeks or so.

No. The others are I Wish I Could Be Lonely Instead, Breaking Your Own Heart, and Dark Side. Certain people have them but they haven't leaked widely (yet). They seem to be appearing on more and more last.fm pages though, so I guess it's only a matter of time.

Compared to Kelly's 3-6 months before the album. I still stand by what I've said. I think people are overreacting about what effect the leaks will have on the album. If anything, it's just getting people more excited for it. I know I'm a lot more excited for the album than I was before hearing LMD and the others. It builds buzz. Plus, a lot of the people buying the album will be those who are just Kelly fans, not stans. They're not the type to rush and download the leaks when a lead single isn't even out. And my point was that no matter how hard you try, an album will leak before release. The length of time doesn't matter all that much IMO.

Yeah but it is still aggravating because this is nothing new and RCA still couldn't keep the songs under wraps. You would think they would work extra hard to protect the material after having all of her songs stolen. Gaga's album didn't leak or if it did it was only days before the album release (either way, it didn't appear online until AFTER it was sent to stores, so I really don't consider that a leak). If they could keep her material under wraps then it is possible. Gaga had one of the most anticipated albums in many many years but they found a way to keep it under lock and key. It takes a lot of effort and I think RCA just isn't willing to do it, either for Kelly or for anyone.

Very few people have The War Is Over and Don't Be A Girl About It so those will not be leaked for awhile I would hope. Dark Side and Breaking Your Heart looks like they will be next :/

As much as I would love to hear the rest of the songs (especially The War is Over), I seriously hope they don't leak. At least RCA has made some attempts to get rid of the leaks on youtube. But I think Ke$ha leaked like 4 songs from Animal before that album came out, granted her 1st single had already blown up. Who knows what they will do. Why the hell would they send out a promo disc (or whatever), and then keep pushing back the album. Her label really sucks right now...

I just pray to the heavens that Why Don't You Try makes the album and I hope Steve Jordan did a great job with it. It NEEDS to be on Kelly's 5th album tour setlist <3

I would tend to guess the label is the more likely of the two. Whoever gave out the songs to any fans at all is to blame. Give songs to regular people, they ARE going to leak. The live version of Why Don't You Try is great. Definitely hope it makes the album.

Why Don't You Try should be a bonus track, at most. It's going to stick out like a sore thumb on the actual album. She can sing it all she wants on tour though.

I like Why Don't You Try but I kinda agree wth freakshow, I feel like it will be this era's If No One Will Listen~ in terms of not fitting on the album. However, it would be nice to see on the album only beause Kelly probably really wants in on there so she can finally have her soulful song. Will we get The War Is Over and Don't Be A Girl About It soon? I thought there were one or two others in the batch as well.
