“The Wreckers isn’t over in my mind but it is for Jess, so I don’t know. If I was to do the Wreckers, it would mean me finding someone to fill her shoes, which is a hard thing to do. I read in an interview that someone asked Kelly Clarkson if she’d make a country album and she said, “I’d do it if I was in a band with Miranda Lambert or Michelle Branch.” If Kelly Clarkson called me, she could be my new Wrecker.” blog.music.aol.com/2011/08/03/michelle-branch-interview/?a_dgi=aolshare_twitter

As we previously mentioned, please stop discussing Anne here. Please go your separate ways.

Please tell me the posting of a tweet that Kelly herself made that mentioned her doesn't actually count as discussing her. We understood and followed the first warning. I saw no discussion of her over the past week. Whatever, I can't wait until we have official music to focus on.

The buzz, it's starting. Loved listening to that radio interview. I don't get why the single release is a surprise. The only surprise way that she could release the single is during the VMAs. If that's so, then the whole September thing is a distraction. Also, I love that she keeps saying that the album is sounding really good. Makes me want it even more.

That would be the surprise that makes sense. With RCA, though, you never assume the label will do what makes sense.

That interview was cute. Interesting that she said it is a 'surprise' when the single is coming out, it makes me believe that she is gonna debut it on like an award show or something...

Hey everyone, This is my first post in 5 months here on Pulse. I received a phone call from Patrick Clinger, CEO of ProBoards, asking me to step in here because the postings from the ProBoards abuse department have apparently not worked. I don't really know what the issue seems to be, other than that whatever arguments have been going on involving Anne should end here and now. When ProBoards abuse posts directly on this forum, it is serious. I'm not trying to be threatening here, but boards have been removed from the ProBoards server due to continued violations of the Terms of Service, and it can happen to Pulse too. We are not too big for ProBoards. Everyone understand now? OK? Good. You may now continue with your regularly scheduled programming. Best wishes, Matt

Who is this Anne and why is she so important for ProBoards? Beats me. There's a post from ProBoards abuse a little further up the page, though, and it was requested that I help diffuse any tension in this topic.

When you receive a phone call from the CEO of Proboards you know s**t just got REAL!
Btw.. Whatever the abuse department wants, please follow. This board should not and can not be shut down over this. Come on people. I mean, even though I love Kelly, and I am excited for her new era, I'd rather this thread be locked than the board be shut down.

Please do not lock this thread. I get she's been threatening the board, but like I said before, she has only been mentioned a handful of times since the initial warning and those posts have been dealt with. The last thing any of us want is to see is this board shut down or the thread locked over this. The majority of us have been following the rules since the warning and I would hate to see us punished for it. We'd like to continue discussing Kelly and her forthcoming album, please don't deny us of that. We've all moved on, and I'm sure you know who will too once things settle down.
If any administrator feels it's necessary, then go right ahead and do what you want to do. The last thing I want is to keep mentioning her, but I wanted to state our case on behalf of the fans here. Thanks.

Poor Kelly-Dr. Luke is basically everything she criticizes in the music industry.

Well on the somewhat positive side, this venture is happening after album #5 was finished, and she only has to put up with RCA for one more album unless she decides to be a glutton for punishment.
Since they made a comparison to Iovine, I'm hoping this role will simply be giving him more leverage in the way of finding and producing for new artists. He can do whatever the hell he wants with them. Let the ones already signed decide who they want to work with, though. Particularly Kelly, P!nk, and Christina, whose voices deserve better than to be buried under more generically catchy electro-pop tunes.

Luckily with RCA, nothing is ever set in stone so I'm hopeful for some hit producers on the album. I don't get what's so wrong about wanting Dr. Luke to work with Kelly or Kelly to work with him. Their hits are anthems. A force to be reckoned with.

It's not so much a problem with us wanting or not wanting Dr. Luke (I'm neutral...I guess...frankly I wouldn't see Kelly being high on his priority list if he has Ke$ha, Britney, or Katy to work on at around the same time, so I'm iffy on whether she'd get the "good" stuff or the "been sitting on his table for six months" stuff). It's whether or not Kelly wants Dr. Luke - and if she doesn't the likelihood that she'll basically be forced into working with him anyway. Creative control has long been the main point of contention in RCA an Kelly's relationship and Dr. Luke being on board is more likely to exacerbate it than temper it. If they try to 'fix' album #5 by putting him on there that is only going to make things worse. Kelly never quite mastered the art of grinning and bearing it. I'm sure the album is not lacking in well-known producers as it is and unless the lead single crashes and burns it would be a silly waste of money to make her record anything new with Luke now.
Hopefully he's too busy tinkering with that LFN remix and new Ke$ha stuff to have the time and this topic is a moot point until 2013 :)

I'm happy about the Dr. Luke news. Let's face it, Kelly will probably never sing those catchy pop songs after her contract is up, so why not make the album #6 full of radio friendly anthems? Not saying that Kelly's material without Dr. Luke's name on them are not as good, but this might be their last chance of collaborating together to make her signature music, so I'm totally supporting it. Btw, I'm so happy to hear Kelly's voice again! However, the "probably in September" line worried me a bit...maybe she won't perform it on the VMA's then? I really got my hopes up for a VMA debut.

What ƒreakshow said. I personally have no fear of tangling with anybody, but there's no need to create trouble with the one person who will immediately go running to ProBoards management.
Besides the VMAs August 28, the next big event for Kelly to possibly perform at in that time period is the September 21-22 debut of the X Factor US. I'm not familiar with how X Factor is structured - are there performers on the show from Week One, or is it like Idol where you have a couple weeks of auditions before you start having guest performers?
I assume if Kelly debuts a new single before then, she'd still be an obvious choice for Simon & Paula's first musical guest.
ETA: As for the Dr. Luke news, it makes commercial sense for RCA to bring Dr. Luke fully in-house, although of course it's a risk - his material has so saturated pop radio and so many of his recent songs sound alike, his could easily end up out of fashion in a year or two, as has happened to plenty of hitmaking producers in the past (Phil Spector's distinctive sound, for example, was totally out of style after about 1972 - Spector kept producing new records every few years after that, some with success, like the Ramones, but he was no longer the man with the bankable magic sound again).
I'd be OK with Kelly working with Max Martin again, with or without Dr. Luke, but I've had it with Luke's own sound by now. The live version of MLWSWY, for example, is much better with the band's real instruments than the studio version with Luke's trademark pulsing synths and soft electronic beats. And I certainly don't want to see him overseeing her albums.
