SARA BAREILLES - King Of Anything: 34.109 (+ 0.350) I don't know guys, I do think this can be like Hey, Soul Sister was last year. It stayed around 30-35 AI for like forever before it started exploding. The song is catchy (KOA I mean).

It looks like G6 is a lock for #1. Rihanna and Bruno will battle for #2 with the advantage going to Bruno and Nelly will be #4.

Cuz I'm a nerd I did a little calculating looking at 14 songs for the year so far.
If you used an inverse point system where #1 = 100 points and #100 = 1 point, you get this order:
1 Hey Soul Sister 3846 2 Need You Now 3823 3 Tik Tok 2832 4 Breakeven 2692 5 Bad Romance 2656 6 Telephone 2591 7 OMG 2562 8 Airplanes 2478 9 Nothin On You 2319 10 California Gurls 2161 11 Not Afraid 2099 12 Imma Be 2006 13 Empire State of Mind 1728 14 Love the Way You Lie 1666
If you just look at the weeks in the top 50 and make #1 = 50 pts and #50 = 1 pt (probably a little better at weighting weeks at higher positions better), you get:
1 Need You Now 1523 2 Hey Soul Sister 1496 3 Tik Tok 1232 4 Airplanes 1128 5 OMG 1112 6 Bad Romance 1106 7 California Gurls 1011 8 Nothin On You 971 9 Telephone 941 10 Not Afraid 899 11 Love the Way You Lie 816 12 Imma Be 813 13 Breakeven 781 14 Empire State of Mind 728
Of course some songs are still charting, so using those point systems several songs would climb by chart year's end.
It looks like there are several artists who could be in the top ten twice (Eminem, Lady Gaga, B.o.B.). I am betting that the final top 3 will be some order of Kesha, Lady Antebellum, and Train, though.

Note about Breakeven -- even though it never hit the top ten of the Hot 100, it has happened before where a non-top ten song has ended up in the year end top ten. I think Paula Cole's "I Don't Wanna Wait" was #10 for the year but peaked at #11.
And of course there have also been cases where a non-#1 song has ended up #1 for the year (2000 and 2001 most recently).

It's been out since, like, May.

Is the new BEP similar to the last album? Would be crazy if the new single dominated like "Boom Boom Pow" and 'I Gotta Feeling."

Ran the numbers for Dynamite and it would look like this:
Dynamite 1833 / 802
Which would put it at #13 by both methods. But again, those methods are just totally made up by me, not the real way it's determined.
I was not trying to diminish its success by any means I just didn't think to look at it.

I think you're missing a few top songs of the year on your list. They might not be Top 5 material but they had pretty good runs.
Break Your Heart, In My Head, and we must not forget I Gotta Feeling, even though it was mostly last year, it did chart for quite some time this year as well.

We'll have a better idea of year-end-chart performance if someone goes through each week every single spent on the Hot 100, and add up their estimated sales and airplay. Anyone up for that task?

How come Rude Boy isn't in any of those lists? Was that chart-topping song that forgettable?

what are the most Top 100 hits ever from one album before? Taylor's about to have 14 (and Fearless had 16?)

I have a thread that keeps track of this (search function) Fearless has the record with thirteen Next highest is 7 top 10 hits wise I think Taylor could break Janet Jackson's record of having the most top 10 hits but probably won't be able to beat her record of having the most top 5 hits from one album.
