Faith Hill Performs "Sunday Night Football" Opening Theme...AgainGrammy Award-Winner Records NBC “Sunday Night Football” Opening Theme “Waiting All Day For Sunday Night” for Fifth Consecutive Season
NEW YORK – September 1, 2011 – NBC Sports will again feature five-time Grammy Award-winner and multi-platinum recording artist Faith Hill performing the opening theme for NBC “Sunday Night Football,” “Waiting All Day for Sunday Night.”
Hill’s “Waiting All Day for Sunday Night” debuts this season on Sunday, Sept. 11, the first “Sunday Night Football” broadcast of 2011 featuring the last two Super Bowl Champions, as Aaron Rodgers and the defending Champion Packers take on Drew Brees and the Saints.
The opening theme will continue weekly, kicking off “Sunday Night Football” throughout the NFL season on NBC.
“I wait all year for Sunday Night,” said Faith Hill. “Somehow the season wouldn’t feel the same without seeing everyone from NBC/ Sunday Night Football over the summer (when we record and film the open). It makes it feel like the wait for the season is somehow shorter.”
“Faith Hill has become a staple of Sunday Night Football,” said Fred Gaudelli, “NBC Sunday Night Football” producer. “And in year five she's better than ever.”
Hill has sold 30 million records worldwide and topped the charts with 13 No. 1 singles and 20 No. 1 videos throughout her 18-year career. Her last three studio album releases, 1999's BREATHE, 2002's CRY and 2005's FIREFLIES all debuted consecutively at No. 1 on Billboard's Top Pop Album Chart and Country Chart, making her the only female artist ever to accomplish this feat.
"Waiting All Day for Sunday Night" is set to the original Joan Jett song, "I Hate Myself for Loving You." She recorded the track with her longtime producer Byron Gallimore and the video was shot in Los Angeles.
Hill is currently in the studio recording what will be her first release of new music in six years.

Faith is on Tony Bennett's upcoming Duets II album, singing "The Way You Look Tonight" with Tony. A preview clip is up on Amazon, but you don't hear much of Faith at all in it.

www.coffscoastadvocate.com.au/story/2011/09/17/mcgraw-hill-excited-return/THE ability to turn their tour into a big family holiday was the deciding factor for country music royalty Tim McGraw and Faith Hill to return to Australia.
Tickets went on sale yesterday for their seven-date tour, which is the power couple's first tour together outside of the US and Canada.
Speaking to APN from their home in Nashville, the country music power couple expressed their excitement about returning to Australia with their three daughters - Gracie, Maggie and Audrey - after spending 10 days in the country last year during McGraw's Southern Voice Tour.
"We had so much fun last time," said McGraw.
"For years we've always wanted to go down to Australia but the timing never quite worked out.
"It's a big vacation for us. I know my middle daughter is looking forward to getting into a shark cage. She is brave, a real nature girl."
The tour has been a long time coming for Hill, who tried to come to Australia before taking a break from recording to focus on her young daughters.
"I was supposed to come in 2001 upon the release of my Cry album and something happened and we had to change our plans and I never made it back," said Hill.
"When Tim cam last year to perform it was like ok, I want to come next time. I want to be on stage as well."
Separately, Hill and McGraw are two of America's most enduring country music artists.
McGraw was the most played artist of the past decade on American radio and has had 11 consecutive albums debut at No 1 on the Billboard charts.
Hill was named the adult contemporary artist of the past decade (2000-2009) by Billboard and has eight No 1 singles to her name, including her crossover hit Breathe.
Together, they are one of the industry's most stable partnerships, managing to balance two stellar careers with family.
They share two Grammy Awards for their duets Let's Make Love and Like We Never Loved At All, and their 2006 Soul2Soul II Tour is the highest grossing tour in country music history.
"Any time I've got that blonde with me tickets sell out really fast," joked McGraw.
Surprisingly, McGraw said he was unsure of the reception he'd receive when he toured Australia for the first time last year.
"I'd never been in Australia before. I wasn't sure what it would be like," he said.
"I wasn't sure if they'd know who I was, so it was a great surprise to see the reaction."
Both singer songwriters will have new material to play for Australian fans when they reach our shores next year.
Hill is currently in the studio recording her first studio album in seven years.
"I've just been trying to find that sweet spot to fill a void I've been missing musically, to set a new path for myself," she said.
"I feel like my fans have been incredibly supportive over the years. I hope that they love this record. It's very soulful."
Once Hill has finished recording, McGraw will hit the studio to work on his next album.
After legal battles with his former record company Curb over the release of his album Emotional Traffic, recorded last year, McGraw said it was time to move on.
"They've sort of taken it hostage," he said.
"I hope the fans get to hear it. I'll play a few songs from it for sure, but I have to move on."
The Tim McGraw & Faith Hill Australia 2012 Tour starts in Perth on March 18 and plays Adelaide, CMC Rocks the Hunter Valley and Melbourne before playing two shows in Brisbane on March 23 and 24.
The tour finishes in Sydney on March 27.
Tickets are on sale now through Ticketek.

P.S. Are Christmas albums considered studio albums? Because this is technically her 8th studio album if we count Christmas albums, but Wikipedia doesn't seem to list Christmas albums under studio albums in the artists' discography sections.

New Single to be performed at CMAs?! music-mix.ew.com/2011/10/06/faith-hill-new-single-come-home-cma-awards/Faith Hill hasn’t officially released a new single since 2007′s “Red Umbrella,” which went to No. 28 on Billboard’s Country Songs chart. But EW has learned exclusively that the country superstar is planning to make her long-awaited comeback by performing a new single, “Come Home,” at this year’s 45th Annual CMA Awards, which will air Nov. 9 on ABC at 8 p.m. Virtually no details are available about the song, but in February, Hill was quoted as saying that she’d soon be in the studio working on an album of new material. Naturally, she was tight-lipped about what she was recording. “I’m not even prepared to talk about it right now,” she told Billboard at the time. “I’m right in the middle of it, so it’s really hard to describe what it is until I’m done. That’s the honest truth. I’ll be able to tell more, maybe once I come out of the studio in the spring.” Hill hasn’t been in the recording studio in quite a while. Her last new album was Fireflies, which debuted on top the Billboard 200 and Top Country Albums chart when it came out in August 2005. Subsequent albums were 2007′s The Hits and a holiday compilation, Joy to the World, in 2008. The CMA Awards are set to be hosted by Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood, who have done the job three times before. Besides Hill, other performers for the night include Taylor Swift, Blake Shelton, Paisley, Jason Aldean, and Keith Urban.

Is there any word on who will be contributing songs to her? Previously she has used a few Lori McKenna songs and since Lori just released a new album back in January, I'm wondering if any of those will be on the new Faith album.

I don't know what songs are making her CD but she would be smart to pick some Josh Kear songs.

Faith's "All I Ever Wanted", which was played during the credits of the movie Life As We Know It, was written and produced by Ryan Tedder. I'm curious whether she did any other songs with him for the new album. It was surprisingly pop, which is the opposite of what I was expecting for this new album. Can't wait to hear this new single. It has been too long!

I can't remember where I read it, but I think it was Elizabeth Cook herself saying that Faith Hill had put "Girlfriend Tonight", from Cook's album Welder, on hold.

I hope she includes her cover of Abba's "The Winner Takes It All" on this album. It was being considered for the Greatest Hits album, but then she decided to save it for the next album. It's been so long though, that she may have ditched that idea.

I'm really curious to see what direction she went with for the songs. Its debuting at the CMAs, so it will definitely have a country flare, but I wonder if it will be something that could possibly sound crossoverish.
I want crossover Faith.

I'm so ready for this new album. I've been listening to It Matters To Me again recently, and had forgot just how good an album it is. If the single is coming out in November, hopefully that means an album by February or March.

It's country for the sake of being country (a time when Gretchen Wilson, Terri Clark big on the charts), and left the crossover-leaning women aside. It was basically just following what was trendy, and I don't think it was true to Faith. Hopefully she'll go back to the Breathe/Cry styles.

I loved the Cry album. It wasn't the least bit Country, but that's not something that bothered me. I would probably say it's my favorite Faith album. "When The Lights Go Down" is still so good.
I enjoyed Fireflies though. I don't care if it was purposely extra Country, I liked it. "Like We Never Loved At All" is one of her best singles IMO.

Huh? Where did you read that? I think Ryan Tedder just produced it...or at least I hope she isnt stooping to releasing covers of pop bands...
Nevermind. I just took a stroll over to the country forum.
I think she could pull that song off well. But, I was hoping for something upbeat for the first single.

It was basically just following what was trendy, and I don't think it was true to Faith. Hopefully she'll go back to the Breathe/Cry styles. Yeah, I agree that she definitely followed trends on that album, but I think there are a lot of excellent songs on there ("Stealing Kisses", "Fireflies", "I Want You", "Like We Never Loved At All", "Wish For You", even "Mississippi Girl" and "Sunshine And Summertime"). Cry was probably my second least favourite of her albums (after the debut). Not because it wasn't really country, but I didn't find a lot of the songs all that strong. I did really like "Cry", "When The Lights Go Down", "Stronger", "This Is Me" and "If You're Gonna Fly Away". I don't love the idea that she's coming back with a OneRepublic cover as her lead single, but most people have probably never heard the song (at least, most people who listen to country), so as long as it's not billed as a Faith Hill pop cover, it shouldn't be held against it at radio.
