A slow moving chart as most are at the start of the year. Top 3 are once again Italo Disco, Power Punk and Glam Metal. One new entry in the top 10 from Winger stepping up from #12 to #9 with the second single from their album 'Seven'. Get ready for a big Top 10 purge in the weeks to come. The biggest move on the chart is a tie for a five notch jump from STAYC with "Bubble",and Jo Yuri - "Taxi". Hurray for K-POP. Getting on this week's debuts and probably the biggest news on this week's chart is DIAMANTE zooming in with a bullet for her brand new single "1987". This one should cause some some havoc next week? One more debut from Rock's newest bad boys; The Knocks. They check in at #59 with "Knocking on the Door". Speaking of knocking.. So life shows up and decides to kick me square in the nuts. I'll have to sort some stuff out, but my top ? songs of 2023 in definitely underway. As always Red are Debuts. Blue means BIG moves and () is song's highest peak to date.

HOT LIST: Three new songs looking for slot on my charts this year. We have a comeback single from Italo Disco's very own Virgin. Only this time it's Tiziana Negrello on vocals instead of Clara Moroni. Beautiful melody, relaxed in the BPMs, but oh so special with the synths. Grouplove is back with "Cheese". The song is having a hard time on the Alternative Rock chart, but I'm enjoying it. Especially the backups which are 90% of the song. Let's see if it fairs better on my chart. last, but definitely not least is the brand new one from Neon Trees titled "Losing My Head". A little more on the punk side , but catchy as hell.

[Doc Indie Party Rock]

New week and the Top 10 purge for 2024 has begun. It also makes for a much more eventful chart. First up Green Day take the crown with "The American Dream Is Killing Me". Midnite City also up a slot to #2 and Disturbed slots nicely at #5 with "Unstoppable". Two songs go Top 10 this week. Ana Moll with her second top 10 hit "Making Tapes", and BB Girls who have already had a successful discography are back with "One More Time". For the last few weeks both BB Girls and blink 182 have been climbing side by side with songs with the same title. I can't recall the last time that has happened ,if ever on my, or any chart? On with our debuts. First up anchoring the chart at #60 is newcomer Kim Sung Kyu with "Small Talk". Grouplove is back with "Cheese" and while it's done on the Alt chart it's barely coming of age on this chart. Last , but certainly not least is Edge of Paradise taking chart splash honors at #49 with "Hologram". More excitement on the chart in the weeks to come as I have big plans for some of the new music I've been picking up this week. More on that in The HOT LIST. As always Red are Debuts. HOT LIST: This week's adds are all first timers. We have new Poprock from the Dollyrots. From their album 'Night Owls" comes "Night Owl". Really The Go-Go's NRGetic with some perfect ready for radio female vocals. From Frontiers Records label come Nitrate with "Feel The Heat". This one is pure 80's style album rock with strong synths. The final add that has caught my attention this week is a band or Singer/songwriter called Knox. The song is "Not The 1975". Super catchy Poprock single with a playful side to it's lyrics. New Metal Music Chart:
New #1 song as HITTEN takes hold of the Metal crown with "Blood From A Stone". CELTIAN goes top 5 with "Maleficio De Sangre". This one is showing strong potential for a future crown song. One new debut from Sweden's own Lipz. Been charting this band for about ten years now. They finally on Frontiers Records label with their first full length album "Changing The Melody". The first single "Bye Bye Beautiful" is  a strong 80's Glam Metal banger with a ode to Kiss stage presence.  That party rock metal combination puts this band on my ones to watch Hitlist.

HOT LIST: Starting off is Hotel Mira They are one of my favorite new bands out of Canada. They hit huge on my chart with "Fever Pitch" now they back ,and sounding great with "Dancing In The Moonlight". Green Day are back with "Dilemma". Not an immediate favorite of mine, but it's loud and it's Green Day so they get a free pass on this chart. K-POP will continue being my preferred Pop vibe in 2024. First up Kep1er are back with the ultra catchy dance number "Galileo". Last, but not least the song "If It Doesn't Hurt". This one is a surprise add. Nothing More hasn't exactly set my chart on fire in the past, but I have been listening to their new song nonstop. It has one of those great epic sounding choruses that stays in your head. Makes you look up the lyrics just to be able to scream along. That's a sure sign of a chart hit.

New Music Metal Chart: Not much change in the chart. Hitten scream their way to victory for yet another week. Such a wicked song. Celtian up to #2 ,and Distrubed go top 5. This week's new debut is a massive Power Metal guitar fest from the band Italian Metal ELLETRA STORM. Their debut album aptly titled 'POWERLORDS" was released on Scarlet Records and the first single "High Than The Stars" makes its debut on my chart. The song is a pretty unique composition for a little more than three and a half minutes. Iit goes from the first chorus to a massive instrumental solo complete with a Keytar. This goes on for about a minute before gong on to verse number two. The last chorus goes a path of it's own ,and turns into an epic sounding outro. Interesting to see what other surprises are on that album?

[Doc Indie Party Rock]

Midnite City. They are British, Glam, and they hold the crown for a second week in a row. Green Day hang on to #2, despite the strong competition below them. No new entries in this week's top 10, but songs 8-10 have all spent 25 weeks strong on the chart. "Skinny Little Missy" was kicked to the curb on the Active Rock charts, but let's give her a little nudge here ,and see what she does in the next few weeks? We have four debuts this week, and one of my favorite new songs of 2024 from Knox gets Chart Splash honors at #51. Two more songs from crown artists make a debut this week as we welcome new music from Crazy Lixx ,and Green Day, and for our Pop vibe we go to Korea with the girl group Kep1er returning with the ultra catchy "Galileo". Finally finished compiling the slots for the Top 215 songs of my 2023 music year, so that link will be coming by next weekend. The Metal chart will return next week, but I do have some cool new tunes in the Hot List for your sampling pleasure. As always Red are Debuts.
