51 DISTURBED ASYLUM 8,255 -14 9,586 350,372 Although a big band, these numbers still show the effect a big single has on your album sales 55 VARIOUS ARTISTS ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW 7,894 310 1,927 34,909 Glee has become a franchise big enough to influence the sales of other albums 59 BAREILLES*SARA KALEIDOSCOPE HEART 7,241 -4 7,505 175,666 No certification this time around for Ms. Bareilles. The same for Colbie Caillat. One album wonders. 61 KE$HA ANIMAL 7,142 4 6,836 992,930 Still not as good as Gaga, but better than Katy Perry. We need to see if her second album also surpasses Katy's. 68 ARCADE FIRE SUBURBS 6,341 -7 6,848 358,291 Pretty consistent for an indie band 69 AVENGED SEVENFOLD NIGHTMARE 6,331 -2 6,483 364,563 Another front-loaded number 1 debut that barely reaches gold. Janet Jackson anyone? 74 BLACK EYED PEAS E.N.D. (ENERGY NEVER DIES) 6,101 4 5,861 2,821,965 90% sure "The Beginning" will not do as good as "E.N.D.". Atrocious first single... 76 FAR EAST MOVEMENT FREE WIRED 6,017 -27 8,226 31,213 I believe their success will not sell thei album. I hope to be wrong. 89 TRAIN SAVE ME SAN FRANCISCO 4,990 -6 5,317 506,272 Pretty good sales. One of the few comebacks this year! 90 PLANT*ROBERT BAND OF JOY 4,985 -30 7,136 124,453 Another grammy win is necessary to reach the past sales levels of his collab. with Krauss 97 NICKELBACK DARK HORSE 4,763 -8 5,179 2,949,368 AMAZING! FEMALE TAYLOR SWIFT 63 USHER VERSUS 7,086 -12 8,083 162,895 100 LADY GAGA FAME MONSTER (8 TRK) 4,604 17 3,929 1,323,604 Mmmmm.... 112 DAUGHTRY LEAVE THIS TOWN 4,223 -5 4,450 1,174,770
HAC niche band...
118 B.O.B B.O.B PRESENTS: THE ADVENTURES 4,048 -13 4,675 438,358
Better than other copycats...
142 IGLESIAS*ENRIQUE EUPHORIA 3,364 -8 3,662 168,905
Not a comeback for Enrique. Learn from Train. Nelly's "5.0" next in the spotlight
144 30 SECONDS TO MARS THIS IS WAR 3,326 -15 3,933 294,084
Shame for such a good album. Release the Kanye-assisted Hurricane orrelease Closer To The Edge to POP. Stupid management.
150 LADY GAGA REMIX 3,173 -6 3,386 123,054
This girl is gold
153 GORILLAZ PLASTIC BEACH 3,142 13 2,769 351,179
Surprisingly better than I expected
189 WEEZER HURLEY 2,679 -19 3,323 81,181
FLOP! Done even on their core format. They need some flashbacks/flashforwards to save them...

97 NICKELBACK DARK HORSE 4,763 -8 5,179 2,949,368 AMAZING! FEMALE TAYLOR SWIFT LOL! 90 PLANT*ROBERT BAND OF JOY 4,985 -30 7,136 124,453 Another grammy win is necessary to reach the past sales levels of his collab. with Krauss He already had released four singles off his last project when the Grammy's took place. His on his first single with this now. It's only been two months... 89 TRAIN SAVE ME SAN FRANCISCO 4,990 -6 5,317 506,272 Pretty good sales. One of the few comebacks this year! No not really... With the smash single HSS and moderate single IIL, even his label expected it to sell more than this, unless it keeps selling like this...

But if you compare their sales to B.o.B, Taio Cruz, Enrique Iglesias... who all had at least one explosive single, and Train's last album sales, you can't say they are doing badly. Daughtry came off a 4x platinum album and have only sold double what Train sold this time around. Katy Perry is often the number one artist on last.fm weekly, and is undoubtedly one of the blazing artists right now has sold comparable numbers with three singles...

www.billboard.biz/bbbiz/content_display/genre/e3i40db991978fd49cfe910db963d0754bcAnother consideration is that some albums with big one-week sales were released during weeks with holiday-driven, high sales volume. As a result, they have a relatively low share of total sales even though they put up big numbers. The Beatles’ “Anthology 1,” for example, sold 855,000 units in its first week of release (the week ending November 26, 2000) but ended up with a 4.5% share. Backstreet Boys’ “Black & Blue” was released on November 21, 2000 and sold 1.59 million units in its debut week – good for just a 6.8% share of all album sales.

^ Surprised to see Drake and Lady A on that list, but I guess that just shows how poor album sales are today. Taylor really crushed the competition on that one.

69 AVENGED SEVENFOLD NIGHTMARE 6,331 -2 6,483 364,563 Another front-loaded number 1 debut that barely reaches gold. Janet Jackson anyone? This album will go Gold just like their last 3 albums have. It should manage it within the next 6-12 months. The same for Disturbed as well. The bigger question for both of these bands is whether their albums will go Platinum as that will be much harder to achieve.

Love being able to see the SS #s. Thanks!
I notice that there are two different sets of stats posted for positions 174-200. Are they from two different weeks?

Sorry to be ignorant... but what's the difference between the Current Albums Chart at the Billboard 200?

Billboard 200 = the 200 most popular albums of the week
Current albums = Top 200 new releases and albums less than 78 weeks old. This was the Billboard 200 prior to this year

Thanks for that, 2M! That makes total sense. So the Catalog Chart became the new Billboard 200, and the old Billboard 200 became the Current Albums chart. Got it.

13 BROWN*ZAC BAND YOU GET WHAT YOU GIVE 22,097 -15 25,873 348,499 31 MAROON 5 HANDS ALL OVER 13,910 4 13,422 254,156 I guess Levine's diss didn't stop the band from outselling Maroon 5. 24 LINKIN PARK THOUSAND SUNS 17,295 -17 20,809 455,760 I'm really sad for them. A band this good shouldn't sell this low. Again, it is their management's fault. Zac Brown Band is outselling Maroon 5 because unlike Maroon 5, ZBB has cornered a specific market. Zac Brown Band is THE southern rock band at the moment. Linkin Park isn't selling because their lead single sucked. Nuff said.

Funhouse sales may totally collpase once the GH hits. After all, six of the album's tracks are on the GH. But, Funhouse has had a great run- I would think it's shipped enough for a double platinum cert, or close enough to it.
