Why doesn't this song perform well? It hit #1 in A/C the first year, didn't it? I don't get why people need to hear the SAME songs over and over and over. Mariah has more than just All I Want For Christmas Is You and this is a great alternative!

Rod Stewart's "Let it Snow..." is No. 1 at AC this year, and his track isn't getting much play outside of the AC format. Because AC stations play the old classics so much, it's easier for new tracks to hit No. 1 on the AC chart than it usually is.
Plus, OS just cannot compete with AIWFCIY.

"OS" will be on the soundtrack from the upcoming Madea Christmas movie, so I assume that means it will be used in the film. Maybe that will give the song a commercial boost.

Hahaha! I love this song! This is the home wrecker smash! When she is asking Santa to help her steal back her ex from the new girl. The subtle Ho! Ho! Ho! My favorite part of the video is when she sings I won't forget the milk and cookies, and she touches her breasts when she sings that line!

There are lots of great covers of Christmas songs, not to mention countless new ones, that get almost no play in favor of playing the classics (some of which I love, others not so much) for the millionth time. That being said, "All I Want for Christmas is You" beats the crap out of "Oh Santa", so I'm perfectly fine with sticking to the classic in this case. Mariah definitely has Christmas songs other than AIWFCIY that get a fair amount of AC spins though, even if that's by far the one that gets the most. |

It's one of those 69-cent holiday titles this season- so between that and the Madea movie (it's been in commercials, from what I understand?), that's probably boosted it.

The lead single off Mariah's 2nd Christmas album "Merry Christmas II You" It was a festive poppy number and reached #100 on the Hot 100 I love this one a lot and it's easily a faved to play during the winter season alongside many of her other Christmas classics Mariah bringing joy to the world every winter season  , not even your faveds can pull that off  |
