The performance will help bring much needed attention to it. But I think it will still be rather slow to rise at radio. But it will eventually get to a nice peak. No need to write it off already.

I'm really looking forward to 'Waiting for the Night' for some reason. The title sticks out. I hope we get something as ethereal as 'Say It Right' on this album. NOT A REPLICA OR PT. 2, or even anything that sounds like it. I just want something that is as magical as that was upon first listen.

Incredible masterpiece.

The label got spooked that easily by Big Hoops not crashing the top-10 out the gate? Geez.

Interscope is a lazy piece of sh@t. I'm soo pissed off right now, they are barely giving Big Hoops a chance.

This album was going to bomb if it came out next month. Even if "Big Hoops" were to miraculously turn into a smash hit, it's not going to be soon enough to sell this album next month.

Well they need at least a month to prep a new single, new video, etc. Another month or two for it to (hopefully) take off.
It's understandable.

I don't even mind if it was just pushed back like 2 weeks or so, since JB was going to cockblock her sales anyway on the 19th, but THREE MONTHS LATER??!
Gah I just hate it when albums get pushed back.

Unless she's going in to record more material, I don't see the point in pushing the album back at all, let alone to September. Judging from the first single, and the clips and descriptions for other tracks on the album, they don't sound too far off from the sound of "Big Hoops (Bigger the Better)." And they definitely don't sound like anything that's dominating the airwaves at the moment. Many artists make the mistake of pushing their albums back to release another single after the ones before failed to meet expectations, and they end up in a worse position than they were before.

I cannot imagine them not recording anything new or at least remixing, but if so that would be a stupid decision. The songs aren't going to become more radio friendly just sitting on a shelf for a few months.

Some of the Darkchild tracks are dance orientated. Well at least the title track is.

I think the push back seems pretty logical. I don't know what record exec would release an album by a major artist like Nelly with a lead single that hasn't even charted? Just doesn't make good business sense. And it's not like the general public even knew the album was coming out next month (I'm not even convinced most people know she has a single out).
At least this way they can attempt to get a hit before just throwing the album out there.

They could try to give Big Hoops more time to develop and potentially become a hit if promoted properly, but the BMA performance hasn't even happened yet and they're already pushing it back three months? Interscope is a mess, why did they even call it a summer album if they weren't going to properly promote the first single anyway.

Can't blame Nelly for this because it's obviously her shitty label and management. The promo for this song should of started ages ago.

Official sources such as Amazon and Universal Music Italy have confirmed the rumor of T.S.I. being pushed back to September 2012. These are what the new dates look like: September 10 (United Kingdom) September 11 (United States, Canada) September 18 (Europe) We’re waiting for more confirmations and explanations. Stay Tuned! Nelly was spotted this morning in London outside the BBC Radio1 studios right after she was interviewed. nellyfurtadodaily.com/

I don't think pushing back the album release necessarily means giving up on Big Hoops. I think they'll probably give it a few more weeks and see what the promo does and go from there. Either way, there was no way Big Hoops was going to blow up in a month and set the album up properly for release. I understand it's upsetting that we have to wait longer for music (trust me, I'm just as upset as anyone else) but I'd rather they set the album up for success than letting it fail.

She said it will be released soon-ish. :) She was talking about TSI the song, not the album. And the push back isn't confirmed yet in the US.

Yep we were.
She's apparently performing Spirit Indestructible as soon as May 24th on The Tonigh Show with Jay Leno.
