Please. CASSIE has a fan base. Doesn't mean an artist can take a 6 year break and be right where they left off.

She needs to start over from scratch. No one can ride off of their success from 2006.
And don't come for Cassisus!

I loved Nelly from 2006 to early 2008. I even bought her first two albums after buying the International Tour Edition of Loose. Since then, though, I lost interest to be honest. Britney came back and slayed my life once again and other artists also caught my attention. I did not even pay much attention to Mi Plan (although Silencio was amazing) and The Night Is Young was pretty bad at best. I just hope her new album will bring back the love I used to have for her. And no, I'm not here for Whoa, Nelly! or Folklore eventhough I enjoy most of the latter and some songs of the former. Give me Maneater 2012 and Say It Right mixed with Turn Off The Light/Build You Up Nelly!!

What Jazzysoul said is true, she can't expect to have the same amount of success she had if the material is like "Night is young" or "Girl in this city." I love to her to death, but I am worried. Although I'm sure her goal isn't to outdo Loose, maybe just put herself out there again.

If there is one thing I've learned about Nelly, is that you can't write this girl off.
I wrote her off after Folklore and then Loose happened! Who knew?
I anxiously await this next chapter.

So far they're doing a good job making fans excited again. Hoping for some single news in the next few weeks. Btw what does T.S.I. mean?

Same here. I find all of her albums refreshing for the most part, so I'm excited about this era. That said, all the momentum she probably gained during the Loose era is long gone. The wait for English-language material has simply been too long. How well this era will do for her depends entirely on the material. She may surprise some folks and end up one of those artists who can get away with being less prolific.

I think she said something in an interview a few years ago that she had done something like 20 songs in a few weeks with Timbaland, but she didn't end up liking any of it and shelved them.
I was listening to some music from this newest producer (Di Genius) and he seems promising. I'm mostly satisfied with the producers she has been working with so far.

It doesn't surprise me that she's not working with Timbaland this time. People would just be expecting a rehash of Loose and I know that's the last thing she wants to do with her new album.

Although, I can see radio start to play "Promiscuous" and "Say It Right" before the release of her next single and people gaining back a huge interest in her. While it's been a few years since those monster hits, they were huge enough to last so that when played again this long after, she'll regain prominence. At least, I hope it works out that way.

I'm not even going to lie, I adored Loose and Folklore but I'm having a hard time even giving a shit about the prospect of her releasing new material.

I'm Like A Bird,Shh..on the Radio,&Turn Off The Light got me hooked on her, I didn't even listen to Folklore tbh. Loose just reaffirmed my attention back to her.

You should try Folklore, if you have the opportunity. It's closer to Whoa, Nelly! than Loose, but I like it better than the former.

when i was a kid i used to hear Im like a bird and Turn off the light all the time on the radio, then the next thing i heard from her was Maneater which i downloaded, then say it right which i got as well. then about 2 years ago i looked up her first songs and downloaded Whoa , Nelly! which is a great album, i also found out she had released Folklore all those years ago and id never heard about it, still havent bought it but i love try and one trick pony. and now im eagerly waiting for this new album!! i hope it does well, but im going to predict it selling around 1.5m worldwide at the end of its run. just based on the marketplace and the fact that it has been 6 years!

Don't forget guys she has a huge fanbase in Europe, especially in Germany!! We'll see!! I like the fact she's complety different from other singers (.......) ;)

I still can't believe they let her momentum from Loose completely get away. This. pfft who cares at this point. its not about fucking promotion all the time. sometimes its just about making good music. and thats all i hope she delivers. she never wanted to be beyonce. she was always, in my mind anyway, the indie soul in the mainstream world.
