Eh. I haven't really loved Darkchild since the last 90s when he did Say My Name so my hopes for this project are officially dashed. I'm willing to be pleasantly surprised though. Hopefully, with my low expectations, Nelly will exceed them easily.

Truly terrible single title. The parenthetical postscript makes it even worse.

Truly terrible single title. The parenthetical postscript makes it even worse. The song will have to judge if the title is bad or not All though judging by the title it seems the song is about earrings lol. I'm intrigued to hear what the lyrics are. I had no idea what the hell hoops were until i looked it up so i assumed it was a slang word for penis, i guess not?

Not every song title has to be politically correct. The song's name is different. Who said it was politically incorrect? Were smaller hoops taking offense and I didn't hear about it?

No i mean't it in the sense that every song title didn't have to be typical. Smaller hoops had nothing to do with the point i was making.

I looked up recent Darkchild songs I liked and the ones I recognized include I Forgive You, Just Can't Get Enough, and Telephone. Then a huge gap back to 2002 or so before I like another song from him. I can see songs like the last two fitting with Nelly except I am sure her own style will be stamped on them.

I think she's been gone too long to make another big splash in the industry. The song will have to be super hot.

Yeah 6 years is a mighty long time to be absent in this industry but with the right track I'm sure radio will embrace her.

She waited too long and something also tells me that her material is going to be out of touch. Loose is my favorite solo female album of the last decade, so I don't want to take anything away from her, but she also got very lucky. Going into that album, Timbaland took her under his wing and made her project his main focus. It just so happened that in 2006, Timbaland was at the peak of his Pop career and they came up with a style that perfectly blended Nelly's style and his. I guess it remains to be seen if her and Darkchild have a similar chemistry, but given his latest hits I have a hard time picturing it.

I will never count her out. She is immensely talented and if the material is good enough then I can't see her not doing well. There is no way K'Naan's 'Is Anybody Out There?' would have broke Top 40 without her on the track.

Nelly Furtado can definitely pull off a song titled Big Hoops. Can't wait to hear it.

Oop. I forgot Darkchild99 did Telephone, with one of the hottest productions of the decade. I also like I Forgive You because he knew how to tap into Kelly's pop-rock style pretty effectively if not...reductively.

The thing with Nelly is she is very creatively talented. She'll tweak something and make it special. If she has the right single, she'll do good. She has such an array of different styles in terms of her music.

I'm also a bit concerned about this album's success. Yes, this is anticipated but maybe the general public lost interest in her since she's been gone so long? On the other hand, it's not like someone else came and replaced her as she has such a diverse style that it's hard for her to be compared with someone else. I'm sure the material will be great though, Nelly never disappoints.

That's why she has to be more careful than Rihanna. Casual radio listeners don't care about Nelly as much as Rihanna, so she has to be more strategic with her sound. Hype alone won't lift Nelly's songs like it can for Rihanna. On the other side, Nelly's fans and casual fans who know Nelly better don't expect Nelly to record generic pain-by-numbers pop songs. They'd definitely backlash that. Judging by the title (which can only say so much) and the producer, I'm concerned that she's going to make a pop song that's going to try TOO hard to be different while at the same time coming with generic sounds that could be by anyone. Remember Jewel's "Intuition" and that album? For some reason I can see Nelly making similar career mistakes.

I absolutely LOVED Intuition and that album, so that wouldn't be such a disaster to me. That being said, the title is still , but we really have no precedent on which to base what we think it will sound. Nelly's never been a producer's singer; her sound is always integrated with whomever she works, so I have no doubt it will be distinctively hers.

Except the fact that people didn't realize that 'Intuition' was completely ironic, and making fun of pop music. It wasn't Jewel trying to compete with others in the pop world, or her trying to use that sound for a new image, reinvention, etc. Yeah, I think the video was ironic. A good guise for the fact that her whole "this is ironic" speech was pure BS. Did you hear how Pop that album was? Nothing ironic about it.

If any of the tracks we heard a while back that were claimed to be on an album that was suppost to be named Lifestyle will be on this album i'll be so fucking happy, just those previews of those tracks made me love Nelly on another level. They reminded me of Whoa Nelly and Folklore Nelly with a small touch of Loose Nelly just like she said this album would have.
This album is my most anticipated album in years. I'm so freaking stoked!!!
