Pretty damn good. I hope this really well. I had no idea that it had really been that long since they last released new material, but this was certainly worth the wait.

This sounds more like a song that would chart on active or heritage rock. I like it nonetheless. The vocalist reminds me of Russel Brand on Get Him to the Greek.

The vocalist reminds me of Russel Brand on Get Him to the Greek. Have you been smoking some Jefferies?

The vocalist reminds me of Russel Brand on Get Him to the Greek. "The vocalist." Such a sweet kid. A) That would be the legendary Mike Ness. B) Russell Brand in Get Him to the Greek reminds you of Mike Ness. You're welcome. ;)

But I'm nitpicking...

Actually I haven't heard of Mike Ness or Social Distortion before the other day (because I only got into rock music alot in the past two-three years), but I've looked up on them today. I found they are similar to Green Day in ways. If that comparison offends you: EDIT: Green Day are similar to Social Distortion.

I got into Social Distortion by trying to download Smash Mouth's "Story Of My Life" and getting their song instead.
True story.

I found they are similar to Green Day in ways. If that comparison offends you: EDIT: Green Day are similar to Social Distortion. Nice save! LOL Nah, it doesn't offend me or anything, it's just that, pushing 30 and obviously only relating to folks of a similar age in real life, it's hard for me to grasp that other, presumably much younger, but still clearly passionate "rock & roll" fans would have little or no idea who Social D are. I got into Social Distortion by trying to download Smash Mouth's "Story Of My Life" and getting their song instead. True story. I'd say the mix-up clearly left you better off, wouldn't you? I got into them in 1996, when "I Was Wrong," their last real hit, was my first exposure to them. Then, while that album ran its course on the radio, 120 Minutes and MTV2 dipped back and played the "Story of My Life" and "Ball and Chain" videos. Most Social D fans love, like, either Mommy's Little Monster or the self-titled record the best. But since I came in with White Light, White Heat, White Trash, which had a much tougher sound to it than anything they'd made previously, that and Sex, Love and Rock 'n' Roll (the follow-up, which took eight years) will always be my two favorites.

Yeah, it's a good thing I didn't go into their thread and rave about how it was their best single in years. I've still never heard Smash Mouth's song, FYI.

I must say, this definitely performed better than I thought it would. Not sure if it'll officially go Top 10, but this was still a good run.

This should do / done better on active. I was hoping at least Top 40 there, since it sounds like active-rock material.

Here in Philly both WMMR and WRFF ignored this. My friend works for WRFF and he told me that it just didn't get a good callout.

How does callout work? Is that a method of research in which they never actually test the song on the air once?

How does callout work? Is that a method of research in which they never actually test the song on the air once? They did play it on the air, but it didn't get a good response from the PPM's and young demos who don't know who Social D. is. All this is fluke though considering that its gone top 10 on the national charts.
