Shania is a legend. The Woman In Me- 15 million Come On Over- 39 million Up!- 18 million Greatest Hits- 7 million Three diamond albums in a row, is absolutely amazing. Almost 2 double diamond albums, and one almost quadruple diamond.. she's definitely a force to be reckoned with ;) Uhm, but Up! is a double disc, has sold close to 6 million in the United States. Highly doubt it sold another 12 million elsewhere

Whitney Ledgend! Only female in top 5
Only female over 40mil She and Mariah only Black female artists represented- you really can't underestimate Whitney's impact
'Whitney' should have made that list as certainly it is over 22mil bumping Madonna off.
3 Diamond albums and the first female to have a diamond album. So many first for her. Certainly a trailblazer!

Yah- label certifications don't just happen once a title has shipped enough units. A title could be eligible for a certain shipment level for years before the label submits a cert application.

I also find it hard to believe that only 2 Beatles albums are on the list, and one of them is "1."

I also find it hard to believe that only 2 Beatles albums are on the list, and one of them is "1." 1 is a greatest hits album so I'm not surprised there. It is also the best selling album of the decade according to SoundScan I believe. Other than that, I agree with you. I expected The Beatles and Abbey Road to appear as well.

I remember the sales for "Thriller" being reported as 40-50 million copes for years and years, until the 2006 WMA's, when the sales were all of a sudden being touted as 104 million lol
