People can be bitter and throw tantrums every time Rihanna hits #1 and try to discredit the charts. But the #1s are the #1s. No one can take them away from her

It's funny, these acts who watch the charts so closely. Now, I'm sure Madonna was told how her hits were doing back in the 90s (she did talk about having that dream about Billboard in late 1995 lol and spoke about it as if it were ridiculous: "This is what I'm dreaming about!"), Funny that you mention that, because Mimi never dreamed about the charts LOL Madonna is actually fine with all the "divas" at this point. Is she?

I think these girls (Ri, GaGa) are making it so Beyonce won't exactly have a bed of roses whenever she returns. Stay convinced. Beysus' comeback is being prepared.

People would have bought it enough for it to go to #1? Sure, because it was right in that position before they discounted the single. And I'll move on when I'm ready to move on NOT when you tell me to move on, got it? Oh and I'm still waiting for the proof of the chart manipulation the Beatles used in the 60's. ;) I'm still waiting for you to prove that Rihanna wouldn't have gone to #1 if it weren't for the 30cent drop in the price of the download. In fact she didn't even gain in sales at all. Her sales remained the same as last week. She just has stronger airplay than the competition which supports my theory that she probably would've gotten #1 regardless of the temporary drop in the price of the single if anyone even noticed the 30cent drop in OG's price other than us chart junkies. Downloads are a different game than physical singles. Price drops of 1.00 or more may affect physical singles but a price drop from 1.29 to .99 makes no difference at all because it's all the same price point in the average consumer's mind. They simply by what they want when they want it. They aren't sitting around checking OG prices to see if it will go on sale so they can buy it like they would for a computer or something else. You prove that Rihanna wouldn't have gone to #1 anyway and then I'll prove that Beatles' record companies tried to manipulate the charts so they could sell the most records and get extra hits...Since yo u made the first claim I'll let you prove your claim first. ooo god I will need you to fuck me! you're giving me the biggest hard-on

No, sorry, you made the outrageous claim about the Beatles first, so it's on YOU to prove it first not me. Want me to remind you of it? Your words "The Beatles manipulated the charts in the 1960's to their advantage" Again, WHERE'S the proof? But don't worry about it, I know you can't prove it because it's not true, and you don't know s**t about the Beatles and what they did in the 60's so stop even pretending that you do. I'll tell you what, I won't talk about Rihanna and how she got her latest #1 anymore, and you don't make outrageous claims about the Beatles that you can't prove, capiche?

Rihanna's 'Only Girl' Rebounds to No. 1 on Hot 100 by Silvio Pietroluongo, N.Y. | November 24, 2010 7:30 EST Two weeks after topping the Billboard Hot 100 with "What's My Name?" (featuring Drake), Rihanna will return to No. 1 on the chart released Thursday (Nov. 25) with "Only Girl (In the World)," the debut single from her new album, "Loud." It's the first time in Hot 100 history that an album's debut single reaches No. 1 after the second single does. "What's My Name" dips 7-8 on the Hot 100, though it does take the Airplay Gainer for a fourth straight week. "Loud, meanwhile, debuts at No. 3 on the Billboard 200. "Only Girl" is Rihanna's fourth single to ascend to No. 1 in 2010, making her the first female, and first artist overall since Usher in 2004, to hit the top that many times in a single calendar year. Rihanna also moves to the forefront for most No. 1s in the millennium (since 2000), as "Only Girl" is her ninth track to lead the list. She had been tied with Usher for the past two weeks, with eight chart-toppers since 2000. RIHANNA IS PUTTING UP MARIAH LIKE NUMBERS WHEN IT COMES TO #1'S

That means that Rihanna has at least 10.000 advantage over Pink in streaming or BDS numbers are higher for her.
Next should be interesting.

Oh I'm sure Mimi has had dreams of sugarplum fairies and the charts, MESSIAH- but, with her conscious love of the charts, it obviously wouldn't be a problem, whereas for Madge, it was- hence her speaking to her therapist about it. :) And, yeah, she hasn't had a negative thing to say about the "divas" since pre-ROL. The Kabbalah (and motherhood) has taught her well, apparently.
Would be nice for "Raise Your Glass" to take the top spot next week.

That's what the Beyble says That's the truth. Believe it or not, Beysus is coming back to save the industry. I don't believe it...I do believe she will make a splash but she is not the game...she is playing it well, though. Bey Stans are a mess.I am proud of Beyonce for staying low key for 6 months...I am actually looking forward to her new record which would be the case if she pulled a Rihanna and took to brief of a break. I think it will be a great year for pop in 2011. 2010 was kinda neither here nor there for most of the year I guess because 2009 was exciting 2010 couldn't live up to it.

Whatever you say, Stan :) "I got a room full of your posters and your pictures man" He wrote it for you boo How many posts do you see of his without mentioning Eminem. I don't think Mariah is or was ever checking for Eminem musically. I think she is focused on her personal life for some strange reason But if she were ever checking for him it might have been around the time that Eminem's diss track wasn't getting played on the radio in comparison to the top 10 hit that was Obsessed I don't know if Riri being "bigger" affects Mariah or other veterans that have had #1 albums as well as singles and have truly made their mark in the industry. Just sayin' But, female artists tend to be more competitive against each other so when or if Riri ever gets up to 13/14 Mariah might feel the heat a little.

Mariah was wittier and didn't come off as a scorned lover. Eminem obviously has some deep obsession. And you obviously have some deep obsession with Eminem. And thus, the cycle continues.

Eminem destroyed Mariah. He also does on his one new verse on the upcoming T.I track. And what you think makes him win is the very reason why he loses. SMH Well, Eminem is an icon but is also a tortured soul...they way he allows his past issues (trust with women) still get the best of him is beyond me. He even mentioned this issue in his Rolling Stone interview. You make an excellent point. As a man pushing 40...it is pathethic...as an entertainer it is "great expression of thoughts"

I have that issue.
You think i agree with everything Em does? No. Heck i'm somebody who has never done drugs or drank alcohol. But the dude is a genius rapper. The modern day Shakespeare. He has issues? but who doesnt?
My favorite Mariah song is one she didnt even write. "Without You". So i'm far from a hater. I just don't think some of you should be saying Rihannas #1's don't count. They count just as much as Mariahs. To get back on subject a little. So should that not be considered #1 cause she didnt write it?
I mean when does it end? Keep making up excuses why songs don't count as #1.

^No way of really knowing that. It's not chart manipulation, though- the only people who can "manipulate" the charts are those who compile them. :) hasn't it been discussed that there has to be some interest in buying a track? Heck, I like "Only Girl," but I have not purchased it. Said it before, but I wouldn't pay 1 cent for a track if I didn't have an interest in it. There has to be some interest in the song, but that does not mean everyone who has some interest would be willing to pay the full price. Do you really think Loverboy would have reached #2 if it wasn't for the low price?
